That 'kid' shouldn't be playing RO in the first place. [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] I shouldn't be responsible for that kid's virgin ears. [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] Fuck, i won't be able to wait till august.
You're not, the admin is the one controlling the airways because it's his server you're playing on :v:
Stalingrad is gonna be badass also it will probably $50, but we'll see
will pay anything within reason for this masterpiece of a game
No, I'm rating you dumb because what you said IS dumb. You're speaking out of your ass. A Cpl. and PFC saluting a Sgt.? Get real, that's the first thing they make very clear to us in BCT when you join the unit, that you DO NOT DO. I got chewed out by the DI when I first joined because I complied to one of his orders by saying "Yes sir." NCO's don't get that sort of formality. You can't even get OUT of BCT if you don't even know who and when to salute. Don't be a fool because you obviously misinterpretted what you saw. You guys can hate the unit and disagree with it all you want, it won't change anything. You can be the mature ones and say "fuck it, they're not what I was looking for I don't want anything to do with them" and move along. Nobody asked you to play with them but if you have no choice cause it's "the only server on" then maybe it'd be best to just deal with it because bitching about something that won't change for YOU guys is pathetic. Grow up.
Ahahaha You are such a sperg
The difference is that kids who play violent games aren't very likely to go around killing people, but if they're exposed to real people using that language it might influence their behavior. Have you ever seen a little kid run around cursing every other sentence? It's sad and embarrassing and it isn't something that pops out of no where, it's a learned habit which comes from an environment welcoming that language. It's the parents' fault for not monitoring their children, that's 100% true, but if an admin wants to filter their server and ask - Godforbid - their players practice filtering their language just a smidgen, why does it matter? Most of the time it isn't even about the kids, it's about creating an open environment. Some server owners just don't want that trash talk and atmosphere floating around.
are you implying that violence affects children LESS than harsh language? are you also implying that harsh language isn't an every day nomenclature that can be heard on almost every channel.
are you implying that violence affects children LESS than harsh language? are you also implying that harsh language isn't an every day nomenclature that can be heard on almost every channel.
Unless you're mentally unsound or rather desensitized, seeing violence in media isn't necessarily going to inspire you to hurt, maim, or kill others. I'm talking about how these actions influence people to ACT on others, not how they internally influence them. If you're in an environment where your entertainment encourages you to speak using four-letter words, of course you're going to come to adopt those words into your vocabulary. On the flipside, as many of us can vouch, playing violent video games doesn't make any of us violent. There's degrees of separation. Pardon, but as someone who does watch a lot of TV, the language that's easily found in places like Xbox LIVE (especially CoD) is very rare compared to what's normally on primetime. I know very few shows which use "motherfucker" "cunt" and "shit" as liberally as a match of S&D on CoD :v:. Regardless, for some kids the people they play video games are much greater role models - consciously or subconsciously - than characters on TV.

Do a better job of monitoring your children and influencing their behavior if you don't want that. I am an adult and I payed money to play this game, and since I payed money, I'd like to be able to use fucking words that are an everyday part of my vocabulary without having to worry about the potential effects it may or may not have to some little shit listening in. At the end of the day, they are just WORDS. If you really get offended over someone saying "fuck" in passing, grow up and get a life.
They pay for their server, just follow their simple rules, not that hard. They can enforce whatever they damn want. People can always pay to host their own server and make their own rules if they don't like it.
People can always pay to host their own server and make their own rules if they don't like it.
Just like how anybody can run for president if they don't like the president

It's about respecting the people around you and an administrator of a server when they ask you not to use that sort of language. Getting upset over saying "fuck" in passing isn't something you should get upset about. That's not the point. Sseeing a server owner ask you to kindly filter yourself is something that should come easily to anyone who's mature enough to exhibit self-control. It's common courtesy to respect the rules an administrator or moderator laid out so the intended play on the server can run smoothly and efficiently, and everyone can have a good time. Now, if you don't give a shit about offending other people, that's a different story. Go nuts. But you can't walk into a server and think everyone is going to love that vernacular. It's important to be mindful of others in-game, just like you should be in real life. It doesn't matter what sort of game you play, how violent or gruesome, the players aren't going to represent those characters when they speak. People who play Bulletstorm aren't alcoholic potty mouths interested in banging their female comrades 24/7 :v:. Likewise, many of the players might be socially sensitive or insecure. I have first-hand experience with that, because many of my friends are sensitive even though they play violent video games. That language creates a hostile environment to a lot of people, and it makes the playerbase just seem childish because they can't control themselves.

So yeah man this game sure does look great

Ontop of that cursing makes you sound really childish and unintelligent.

Saying fuck can be compared to saying: "damn" "bollocks" "oh man" "dang" it's just a word humans use to express dissapointment.
Or joy. Fuck is a great word. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Lets watch the history of the F word.

I thought this thread was about World War 2 first person shooter video games.
Not only did this get derailed, but people need to grow up. You're playing a game where you kill other people, simulate taking a life, and it is typically done in a bloody gorey matter with little body chunks flying around. I don't think saying "fuck" will make that any worse.

Gee, I sure am excited for this game. I really think it will be a huge improvement on an already great game
Speaking of betas earlier, I wonder how easy acquiring the 20,000 key beta will be. Wonder if Tripwire will do a sign-up service, like Final Fantasy or Battlefield.
I can't fuckin wait for this game, fuck. Definitely not till august.
I can't fuckin wait for this game, fuck. Definitely not till august.
I got my hopes up for the July-projected release date amazon put up too :(
Oh boy, a working sdk. (i hope)
I'm kinda sad that the game is being shipped with only 2 tanks but i'm sure they're going to add more post launch.
I'm kinda sad that the game is being shipped with only 2 tanks but i'm sure they're going to add more post launch.
They're adding two more tanks and two troop carriers, which are confirmed, more than that we do not know
I'm kinda sad that the game is being shipped with only 2 tanks but i'm sure they're going to add more post launch.
They're gonna be uber-detailed, though, so that makes up for it. I'm actually loving the approach they're taking to tanks now. In the current RO, it's always a rush to the tank and if two people are in a tank, one is bound to be yelling "GET OUT!" With the new system, not only will tanks be valuable, but hopefully they'll actually have a good role of supporting infantry, too.
I could not get into the first one, but I will probably buy this because it's Tripwire (which may be the future Valve imo).
