On another note, I think that the commander seat will still be rendered pretty much useless to the general community, unless they want to take an extra driver in case of the driver dying.
Unless it's in an urban environment, that is.
I STILL hate how one T-34 can obliterate any tank that the Axis can throw at it.

You should seriously try the DH King Tiger on Stoumont. I just had a match in it. It's an absolute beast.
We got hit like 6 times by a allied tank, and 3-4 bazooka hits, all bounced with no damage. While the 88 on the KT could one shot anything.
I felt godly.
But I'm sure they were suppose to pull some tactics to defeat it, like trying to track it then hit it from the rear with infantry.

You'd have to be mentally challenged to refuse a deal with Valve - especially one that involves the promotion of your own game, together with millions of fans looking out for the sequel of the Biggest IP of the year - because Valve doesn't rip you off for one.
From what I read all other Major publishers would try to literally steal their ideas, money, life, homes and children if they could.
I hope with how there are apparently going to be over 10 mods released that it doesn't split up the community too much like how it is now where the community is split in half, and thats only on 2, now with over 10, that might be a problem. But lets hope RO2 sells enough that it can be split evenly.
Let's hope the Tiger gets its proper power emulated in the game.

I took on a king tiger with an M5a1 Stewart on the Jolly Rodgers server. Albeit I didnt destroy it with the main gun obviously, but fired smoke shells at it and rammed it until larger tanks took it out :v:
The little green devil. I can't count the number of times I've drove right up next to Panzers and Stugs and perforated the driver with a point blank side shot.

The T-34 was quite alarming for the Germans when it first appeared because the sloped armor provided excellent armor thickness and caused rounds to deflect easily, and it had a good main gun on it. The Panzers would have been in severe danger around a T34/76, and the T34/85 was definitely capable of taking on Tiger I's and Panthers provided they were good at shooting.

Honestly I think a lot of the ARMA2 modding community will be attracted to this game for being the perfect median between casual and simulation, not to mention that the WWII setting will be interesting to them.
In other words, don't expect this to be ignored like Red Orchestra was. The game didn't have a good launch honestly and it was one of the first third party titles on Steam, in fact it was the first purchase I ever made on Steam other than activating my CD keys for Half Life 2/Condition Zero/Half Life complete packs. I only saw the retail box for the game like 3 times in my entire life.

The tiger will most likely be in RO2 but just not at the start.
At release it's only going to be pzIV and t-34-76 but they will add more after release.
:10bux: says that the developers won't include more than 2 tank destroyers for each side.
10 bucks says it will take them years to implement any new tanks.

Just hoping they won't be sold as a DLC. "buy this $5,99 pack to get the Stug and SU-85 tank destroyers"

Yeah I love the Stuat. It's great for hunting tank destroyers.
Once there was the JagdPanzer camping the approach from our spawn, doing a great job of trolling us with some decent shooting.
But I managed to get past in my stuat by driving and zigzagging like a bastard untill I ramming him in the side so he couldnt turn towards me and shot him like 10 times before he blew up.
I hope there'll be a way to VOIP with just the guys in your tank.
It's more fun immobilizing tanks with your jeep.
Was circling around a tiger for about a minute or so before he got annoyed and drove off, then I followed him while honking the horn on my jeep and waited until he stopped and opened his hatch, shot him good with my thompson.

i have terrible feeling inside that they just might do it, as they did the character pack DLCs for Killing Floor
i thought i remembered seeing in a recent interview one of them talking about how they were please with the Killing Floor DLC

No, it most likely won't. The Tiger saw little to no combat in Stalingrad. The only chance it "might" have shown up would have been when the germans tried to break the encirclement but they probably would have been out of action very quickly.
I don't think historical accuracy is the #1 thing on their list considering the Mp43 is in game, but you probably won't be seeing a Tiger.
I'm guessing the Stug and Panzer III will be the tanks added later on.

I dont see the problem with the Killing floor DLCs. They are gimmicks and don't really provide any gameplay edge. Totally optional.

yes, but what if they started selling tanks instead of just gimmicks

:tinfoil:
Seriously though, it's not going to happen. Tripwire isn't comprised of morons, they know what kind of repercussions that would have and the huge number of impracticalities trying to do so would incur.

Exactly, one of the reasons Tripwire is successful is because pc gamers love them for not being like modern day devs releasing shit and expecting you to pay for it. If they actually charged you for that then everyone would abandon them so it's a lose-lose situation for them.
I think they also said in one of the interviews I posted recently they said they will start looking at games on consoles. So that should help them with money enough if there games are successful to not every have to charge for tanks.

Well let's hope right, but does the majority ARMA 2 community even know about Red Orchestra, this game is attracted to a lot of people and tons of people would buy it as I bet there are tons who are looking for the experience Red Orchestra brings. But they obviously haven't found it yet as they don't know about the game, which is why word about the game needs to be spread out more.
I really hope when it's near release and the closed beta is out they start doing some heavy advertising, we don't even have a proper HD video yet, even though I loved the GT videos they were in actually a disaster as anyone who first saw the game thought it looked ugly because they thought it was HD and not a cam and anyone who was interested before lowered there hopes of the game because of the video.
there already is in RO
Oh god what, how.

Check the controls menu. Why don't people bother learning the buttons before playing?
Just hoping they won't be sold as a DLC. "buy this $5,99 pack to get the Stug and SU-85 tank destroyers"
Tripwire would never put a price on gameplay assets.
Eugh, Tank battles are so boring, it's all about intense infantry combat.
Eugh, Tank battles are so boring, it's all about intense infantry combat.
if you find tank battles boring it's probably because you suck at them.
That said combined infantry & tank is the best, so tanks have to watch out for infantry and infantry have to watch out for tanks.
Check the controls menu. Why don't people bother learning the buttons before playing?
Uhm, I changed almost all the controls thanks, I'd always thought there was never a thing for that.
Just hoping they won't be sold as a DLC. "buy this $5,99 pack to get the Stug and SU-85 tank destroyers"
I doubt it, don't worry.
yes, but what if they started selling tanks instead of just gimmicks
Well, people would just move on to mods then.

I like both to be honest, but tank battles lacked alot in the original RO, infantry combat did aswell but not as much.
