It would be amazing if someone made that idea into a mod, with the new RO2 campaign system you can even make a bunch of maps and play them through a campaign. Well like Tripwire said there is over 10 mods getting made atm, if we have a Warhammer mod then I wouldn't be surprised if someone is actually working on something similar to your idea.
God I hope the community is COMPLETELY different than Red Orchestra's now. It's absolutely terrible. 90% over-serious nofun middle aged men that all just want to play solo in tanks. I thought I found a cool server that actually used tank crews they way they're supposed to be done but nope, get yelled at for trying to form a tank crew, then to add insult to injury having a bunch of titfucks scold me for saying "shit"
Completely unplayably painful to deal with RO's community. I'd rather play with Russians than these load of losers.

"THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY SERVER". In a game where people shank each other with bayonets and blow shit up? I'm sorry if a little "fuck" comes out when someone blows my arm off with an anti-tank rifle.
But yeah, the current RO community is a bunch of "OMG REALISM HARDCORE" fags... but then again, so is Killing Floor's community so this doesn't surprise me. Honestly, everything Tripwire touches has this ridiculous community that follows it around shitting all over it. And what does Tripwire do? They pander to these fucking dipshits and end up driving all their customers away. They need to do what Blizzard does: ignore the turbonerds who try to run the community and listen instead to those offering constructive arguments.
Oh, and don't play Darkest Hour; if you think the turbonerds in Red Orchestra are bad, the faggots playing Darkest Hour are going to make you want to stab a nun.
I've actually had a good amount of tank crews going, but more often than not it's hard to find people willing to specialize. I'm really good at driving tanks into battle and angling them correctly depending on the enemy position, but some people just don't fucking understand that.
I can't wait for RO2, hopefully a fresh start, i hope the manual rifle bolting is still there, i mean it was such a small thing but it was the small things in RO that made it all so amazing, i mean after the first played i played RO with that i always doubleclicked playing any other game

I remember I once got my hands on a semi auto rifle and killed two germans in quick succession by accident.

The only way I can team tank is over an exterior voip program playing with friends. It's just way too hard to communicate with other people.
"IS2 at 9 O'CLOCK!!!" *gunner turns to 3 O'clock* *you get blown up*
In some sense a "tank crew" could be an implied mechanic, if you can swap between positions so easily, for all intents and purposes you basically have a crew. Specious argument, but given the unrelenting difficulty of team tanking with strangers due to poor communication, solo tanking is in fact more realistic in a lot of senses. Wouldnt normally be a problem but most maps are designed with team tanking in mind.

I very much look forward to playing with fpers
Saying shit like 9 o clock is stupid though, i usually just say left, right, infront or behind relative to the tank
Same. However, me and my friends did try to say eleven but that ended up with us staring at the clock thing in the game for a minute before figuring out which way to point.
snip
Saying left and right just doesn't cut it, and good luck figuring out where left-left-right (or "a little to the left, but a bit to the right and then some to the left") is. The o clock works great, it's not hard, 12 o'clock is right in front of the tank and you go from there.
snip
Usually what happens is that when I say "left" the guy in the turret finds the enemy I'm talking about on his way to turning it to whereever he thinks "left" means. It works out really well most of the time, except for the times when my turret gunner doesn't know his right from his left.
Yeah, if you don't keep it simple it just ends up with people misunderstanding you, keep that talk to the real battlefield.
oh and shanking me for hating on the "clock" talk in a game like RO? you're no better than the realism fags flakattack
The clock system is much easier if you're not a idiot.
It's much more accurate. Saying left doesn't cut it, what if he's E.G at 11 o clock then you know exactly where he is, instead of wasting 5 seconds locating him and aiming the shot.

Explain to me, where the racism comes from? He doesn't agree with me? is that what i care about? let me post an example of him
infact it's too late because he snipped all his posts, one of them were him saying that we should keep the clock system out of the game because it is for "middleaged no-fun gamers" and using it makes us look like "middleaged no-fun gamers"

Since you snipped your other posts I'll quote this one to say that I do agree that when you are playing with other random people (who being on the internet, by average, don't even know what a clock is) left/right/front/back is better until you know that they know what 11'o'clock means.
With friends or people you know though the clock system is just a more precise version of left/right.

One who is narrrowly or intolerantly devoted to his or her opinions and prejudices. This word is a general term that applies to everyone (racists, anti-Semites, misogynists, homophobes and xenophobes).
also what are you doing

I can agree with that but don't go around saying it's for middleaged no-fun players, since i despise them and by using a simple clock system is far from being one.

Yes, way to compare someone who disagrees with you on what directional system to use in a videogame, with racists, anti-Semites, misogynists, homophones, and xenophobes.

In my time playing RO I have never see this happen, yes it is a problem to some extent but from a couple of experiences of this happening doesn't make the whole community shit, that's over exaggerating.

Do you even know how stupid this sounds......Red Orchestra is meant to be a very realistic game, so basically you have also called the people who play ARMA and the tripwire devs "realism hardcore fags" because the reason they made RO was because they wanted a more realistic and a better WW2 game, they are catering to the guys who want more realism because that's the style of the game you idiot.
There was a guy on the forums who suggested silenced pistols, shotguns with silencers, killstreaks and all that other CoD garbage, so basically your saying tripwire should listen to him and not clans or long time fans who have played RO for years because they are "realism hardcore fags". That's like me telling people who buy the latest CoDs are casual arcade fags for buying a game thats designed to be arcade and then yelling at Activision because they don't listen to the ARMA or Red Orchestra community.
Seriously think before you talk you moron, obviously this game isn't for you.

Want a FP server set up on day of release.
Same. However, me and my friends did try to say eleven but that ended up with us staring at the clock thing in the game for a minute before figuring out which way to point.
There's only one "clock" and it's placed in relation to the tank's body, the front of the tank's body being 12, and the back being 6.
You tell the gunner to keep his gun pointed at either 11 o'clock or 1 o'oclock, and then if you (the driver) spot a target, you stop the tank, and call out the clock position. Or, better yet, steer the tank so the gunner is looking at his target.
I don't understand why people find it difficult, the clock is right there on your HUD.

I really just wish there was a way to keep anyone wanting to solo and idiots from crewing tanks. I don't think you should be able to crew them on your own with the AI crew in MP.
Half of the challenge with tanking is proper communication, the rest being technique (aka: "how 2 control tannk :(((" ) and a having a good commander who knows what kind of shit works and what doesn't (aka: HEY GUYS LETS JUST CREST THAT RIDGE OVER THERE WHERE THE ENEMY IS OR DRIVE AT FULL SPEED ACROSS AN OPEN FIELD OR LETS NOT STOP WHEN WE SEE AN ENEMY TANK AND INSTEAD SHOOT ON THE MOVE).
