I think that these kinds of games dont show that getting a stripper clip into a rifle is a BITCH. Hard as hell. But once you pop that clip in there its smooth sailing.
Not really, just practice it a little bit (like the soldiers would've)
You can only really reload if not empty if its a clip loaded ten round weapon. Such as the G41 and the Enfield.
The Germans and British used stripper clips to my knowledge, not sure they would have carried around bags of loose rounds. Anyways, they use stripper clips in RO2
Huh, I just asked my father since he going to join a Soviet WW2 re-enactment group, (but his uniform never fit him, so he joined the US instead) and his commander at a small event awhile back said the Soviet army never used stripped clips during the war.

Hopefully RO2 has AVS-36 even though it's rare in WW2.
Wish I could find some affordable stripper clips for my Springfield. Also, speed-bolting isn't really possible on the Springfield. You have to jerk the bolt upward to start it. Makes it a 3-4 second proccess at least.

Now imagine throwing in a AVS-36 in there, all hell will break loose.
What exactly is an AVS-36? Was that one of the experimantal Semi-auto rifles they were testing?
What exactly is an AVS-36? Was that one of the experimantal Semi-auto rifles they were testing?
Apparently it is a full auto, here is a video of someone firing it, but it's fired as a semi-auto in the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtBkwfkcc9k

i really don't like the hud. it seems too "modern."
i really don't like the hud. it seems too "modern."
Oh well. It's not like they're adding killstreaks, or slapping tactical rails all over everything with a trigger.
I can see why that didn't make it beyond prototype. Recoil on rifle-caliber weapons is very high.
Well here is Ramms (President of Tripwire) response to that
Yep I've seen that video. While the AVT40 has a lot of recoil, that guy is a bit of a noob when firing it. We actually recorded a full auto M14 as a substitute for the firing sound for the AVT40 since they have a similar ROF and caliber/round size. I watched the guy that was the weapon handler dump 20 rounds on full auto without stopping and yes the thing climbed like crazy, but it didn't knock him over and he could keep the gun at least pointed in the right general direction Granted this guy has about 30 years experience firing fully automatic weapons constantly, and actually trains military people on the use of non-US firearms. So he's basically the elite of the elite at handling these things. He's like the "hero" soldier at weapon handling

i really don't like the hud. it seems too "modern."
Well luckily for you I'm pretty sure if you are playing on a realism server instead of a relaxed realism server then the HUD is hidden most of the time. Or it probably will be exactly like the original RO where no matter what you can choose what you want to see and what you don't, to the point of hiding it completely. Options :science:
I would just want it like RO's hud.
New post from Alan
... so are we done yet? No, of course not The KF Summer event starts next week, which should be good light amusement. We can all go shoot Pukey the Clown in the face. Machete. Whatever. Unlock the Steampunk Mr Foster. We'll have an update on the PB integration in the next few days - we'll get the PB devs to tell you how they are doing (and, of course, how brilliant the game is). There are 1C's big press events coming up soon, too - 28th June in Prague and 7th July in San Fran. I believe about 100 press at each event. Some of our people at both events, new screenshots for the press (and you) and (all being well) new things to show through the press! On top of that, we may just have a couple more little surprises lurking in the next week or so, so watch this space. Are things all about to get a bit frantic? Yup, for sure... probably for the next 2-3 months! Have a good week!
I'm guessing those little surprises are either a HD gameplay trailer (fuck those stupid cams) or the closed beta. Or even better maybe a HD gameplay trailer to announce the closed beta. Either way tons of advertising is going to start now.

Everyone, just try not to go into the server that is currently running hell in RO, they are all TKing assholes.
Oh well. It's not like they're adding killstreaks, or slapping tactical rails all over everything with a trigger.
Triggers... why stop there? Bayonets need laser sights and stick grenades need acog scopes, games are getting better man, and RO2 needs to keep up! [editline]27th June 2011[/editline]
No, rather, there is proof of its use during the war, but no proof for its use at Stalingrad, hence everyone freaking out.
Well, Id say TW does have a bit of creative freedom. I mean, what, two million people died in Stalingrad? It'd be fair to say that a good 95% of the people who went there (escpially earlier) probably died. I doubt you'd have good records or recallections of the equiptment used there.
Im sure Stalingrad was more causalities. [editline]27th June 2011[/editline] wait nevermind. About 2 million.
Im sure Stalingrad was more causalities. [editline]27th June 2011[/editline] wait nevermind. About 2 million.
Two million is roughly equivalent to killing every single inhabitant in a medium sized city. I think thats probably enough :eng101:
Time to pull out the David Glantz volumes I have on the Great Patriotic War.

The men weren't getting enough food, let alone their daily shipments of experimental weapons.
As long as it doesn't kill the immersion, I am fine with it.
So will Rising Storm cost any money or not?
I think we all know that this game will be the best shooter/simulation game this year.
So will Rising Storm cost any money or not?
Depends if its good or not.
Guess what, its coming out the last day of my holidays :saddowns:
This was just posted on the Tripwire forums and I recommend everyone watching this, it is apparently footage from WW2 from a German camera man, so you will be seeing from the German perspective/side. It is absolutely stunning and warning: there are dead bodies in the video.

Pretty creepy.
