Looking at Moddb, there's also a Vietnam, Poland 1939 and WWI Western Front mod.

Since they got the model of the DTM (DP "Tank" varient)I hope you can take it out of the tank and use it (DTM is capable of it but for emergency situations). 63 rounds of mayhem with a odd sight to use.
the devs released the mod tools early on to some officially supported mods
Yup, TWI released the SDK like one year early to the top mod teams of RO1. Rising Storm is an official mod in which TWI themselves will polish it up and may or may not charge for it depending how good the mod is.
There are actually several in the works, and that Pacific mod is just one of them. The devs have given the tools early to some teams to get a head start and to help them out a bit. Rising Storm (the pacific mod) if officially supported by Tripwire though meaning that if it's really good they will release it as a expansion pack and sell it or polish it up a bit then sell it. This is just Tripwire caring about there community and fan base as most of the guys in the Rising Storm team are some of modders of the original game who made something that was really good and popular.
Even without this you can basically start working out assets and once the official sdk is released to the masses you can do the coding part. Or even make rough levels, without visual elements, and get a headstart that way too. Without having access to the game. Just download UDK. If you though, it has to be some special, older version. From 2010 or something. [editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Yup, TWI released the SDK like one year early to the top mod teams of RO1. Kind of like Bad Company 2 Vietnam that adds a whole lot of new stuff that is completely different from that of the main game. Basically a mini expansion.
German bayonets are awesome. My great uncle (other side of the family from the one who got killed in the Philippines) picked one up in Africa and brought it home with him. I've got it right now. It could be in better condition, but it's still a good knife.
Since we have a release date might as well post this: its a steam group for on the day before the release we plan to play for 24 hours until the release, just as a farewell and ending event for the might RO. If you are interested in hosting a server for everyone then I would suggest messaging the administrators of the group or if you don't have a server to offer and want to play a part, go to the tools section of steam, download the RO SDK and make a kickass fun map for everyone to enjoy or at the least you can live stream the event on a server to record it and let others watch. But if your going to attend join the group so they know how many people they are getting. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ROOST24/ Also you don't own the game and are reading this and thinking this event sounds awesome? well RO is on sale for a WHOLE 50% off, you have no excuse not to get it now, go buy it http://store.steampowered.com/app/1200/?snr=1_5_9__13 Also if anyone's interested we can join up on one of the TWB servers today or this weekend and play, so just PM me or post here if your interested in playing some RO. Also remember that we have an official Facepunch Steam group for RO2. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Fp_Ro

Is there a tentative price set for the mods that are judged good enough to be sold as separate products yet?
Tripwire cares about their community because at one point, they were modders.
Is there a tentative price set for the mods that are judged good enough to be sold as separate products yet?
There is nothing final about the pricing of mods and I think the only one they might sell is Rising Storm, but I wouldn't be surprised if they took say In Country: Vietnam and sold it before it's release if it's good. My estimation about the price, since it's Tripwire and they priced their game as $40 (which is still amazing) then I would guess an expansion would go from $15-$20, and maybe at the absolute lowest $10 and at the absolute highest $25. I doubt they would sell an expansion only $10 less then their game or sell it for dirt cheap, so $15-$20 is your best bet.

Tripwire prices their items very low, which is one of a bajillonty reasons to love them.

My one worry about getting RO was that I would be years behind everyone in experience, but for $5 I just can't refuse.
It's okay. Just follow some guys around and call them Herr Steinier. One of them will show you what do eventually. Also if you don't expect to kill anyone for the first hour or so its so much more satisfying when you do (cause you almost definitley will within 30 minutes. Its not all that bad as people make it out to be.)
My first kill was a Tank gunner stupid enough to come out of his hatch while I was hiding behind a tree 100 meters away.
Holy shit. My Steam library grew from buying that THQ hit pack. I got THQ Hit Pack, Borderlands: GOTY, and RO as I said I would do above. I'm really happy right now. They even included Homefront in the pack which I haven't tried yet. When I bought Red Orchestra it gave me two free guest passes that both expire on July 30, so if anyone wants to try before they buy, you can use the pass.
It would be nice to be able to gradually open your tank hatch.
My first kill was a Tank gunner stupid enough to come out of his hatch while I was hiding behind a tree 100 meters away.
Very nice, that feel to pop a tank commander in the head when he comes out is amazing. I was sniping on Leningrad as the Russians and we were on our last point and a tank came charging in, the driver had his hatch open so while it was on the tip of the hill and moving forward I shot the driver in the head and the tank rolled down the hill and got stuck, letting us finish him off the commander as he was helpless. But my very first kill? found a Panzerfaust, saw a tank, first shot disabled his tracks preventing him from doing anything, then finished him and the 3 guys within the tank, it was glorious. (I think that allows me to proudly use this German Hero avatar)
Holy shit. My Steam library grew from buying that THQ hit pack. One pass left. I just gave one to (LAMB) Chance.
Oh man this game looks so damn sick. Dead Island got delayed from my birthday, and rage got delayed. But I just figured out that this game comes out a little bit before my birthday and I don't give a shit anymore. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
One pass left. Well, I like the original RO a lot but I just can't stand tank battles. I just don't have the patience for it, and I suck at operating any kind of vehicle in these type of games. And the only server with low ping and players is the 24/7 Danzig server, which is fun but I get sick of that map.
Last guest past given to EliteGuy. Time for me to play RO.

But it all really comes down to if you are working together with someone. And about the pings, you can always join the TWB servers or the Russian server the netcode in RO is designed so that you don't lag even with over 200 ping, I have had 214 ping before in the Russian server and it was fine, even in the TWB europe server with half that it is smooth.
Ive gotten so used to adjusting for bullet lag whenever there is an Australian server with people I play worse than I usually do. Tank battles are easier though
