Right now there is no crossahair, they said that IF they make it, it will be like Armas crosshair, but right there is no crosshair at the moment.
But good to know if they make one it will only be on Relaxed-Realism.
They won't make a crosshair. It's about as likely as them adding a perk called "Soldier from the future" that lets you use an AK-74 and a RPG-29.
From what I've heard though, when in a life threatening situation your adrenaline rushes and it rapes your fine motor skills by up to 50%. The rate of fire for bolts is fine as is.
Adrenaline doesn't increase your fine motor skills, it decreases them. Reduced fine motor skills is one of the first symptoms of stress.
Bad reading x 1
That's what he said. Rated imaginary bad reading.
I demand the Death Penalty for developers who put crosshairs in their games.
what about non-realistic games
would you kill valve for putting a crosshair in hl2 or dice for putting a crosshair in bf3
yes
Im tempted to get this over my original plan on getting il:2 cliffs of dover
But I dont know if my video card can handle it being a raedon x1300/x1550
How well populated are the servers in the first game? Thinking of buying it.

There are always 3 or more near-full capacity servers up.
There are always 3 or more near-full capacity servers up.
yep there quite a few, I have been playing with Ninja Duck past couple of days and there is always a quite a few full servers. Also remember that the net code in RO is completely different then it is in other games, like I play with pings up to 214 in the Russian server and experience no lag at all. You can join any server you like regardless of ping. No limit like other games where anything above 60 is unplayable.

You don't experience the lag, but it is there. It shows mainly when you shoot (I.e with a ping of 45 your bullet will correspond exactly to what it should do (i.e if you fire at someone 200m away it will take soandso many miliseconds to hit them), but with a ping of, say, 200, it will take maybe 2 seconds to hit them, by which point they will have moved and you will have missed. So it's not so bad as in other games, but it is there.

You must be playing games with horrible horrible netcodes where 60+ is unplayable. It usually gets laggy (but still not unplayable) in most games at around 200+

It usually depends on the server. Some get raped by players joining if it requires that you need to download things. The lag is noticeable but its manageable if you lead your shots correctly to respond with that.

Bad Company 2 comes to mind.

You won't run either game that well (if at all). Those are very old cards.
How well populated are the servers in the first game? Thinking of buying it.
Not exceptionally, but you can generally find a game as long as you aren't picky about what's playing.
yeah 24/7 danzig makes me cry
[editline]4th July 2011[/editline]
I hope all the maps in RO2 will be just as good as Danzig, I'm going to cry if the community picks favourites and plays them 24/7 for years.

Almost all public servers have download redirecting because the inbuilt content downloading is incredibly slow, ala source.
So the downloading of things is almost always redirected to a external webserver to put less strain on the server. So you're wrong.

It happens on the no cowards Arad server. Whenever anyone joins that there is an intense amount of lag while they download shit from it.
Yeah, Danzig is a very good map but it's also overplayed to hell. Kind of like why some people don't like cp_dustbowl, except imagine there's only 4 active TF2 servers and at least one at any given time is 24/7 danzig.
Kaukaus is underplayed as hell.

Then that's just a terrible server :v:

Why would you want to play that map anyway
Because Arad is a great map if you have people who aren't retarded playing on it. Some of my most memorable battles were on that map.
Then again, I love tanks.
I hate Arad, mostly because I don't like the RO tank play.
oh my god i am crying thank you god and thank you tripwire please have my babies. these screens looks absolutely sexy and omg omg omg omg omg omg im so happy
it comes out 1 day before my school starts again tho ;_;

It's a very poorly designed map IMO. Just like Barashka or whatever the fuck it's called. It does combined arms terribly. Both the tank combat and the infantry combat on that map is meh IMO. Berezina does an infintiley better job of the whole combined arms thing IMO.
So there is going to be some previews coming up from the IC event in prauge where they recently showed RO2, here are the websites that are going to release theirs soon.
Eurogamer - preview
Strategy Informer - preview
Rock Paper Shotgun (preview, not just the screenies)
Also from strategy Informer, they named Red Orchestra 2 the best in show where they said this:
We hadn't seen this game since GamesCom last year, although we've been keeping up with all the information coming out of Georgia. We finally managed to get some hands on time with this game, and boy were we impressed. This isn't just another WW2 FPS, this is a truly hardcore WW2-FPs. With the rise of franchises like Battlefield and Call of Duty (not that we have anything against them), the term 'hardcore' has kind of been lost to the genre.
Red Orchestra 2 though is unforgiving, and extremely compelling. There's very little feedback to the player - no mini-map, no ammo counters. Hell there's barely even a health counter. Tripwire have also implemented a rather neat first-person cover system, that works really well. Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is due out in August this year, and we'll be doing a more extensive preview on it shortly.
Awesome. I'm looking forward to those. Maybe we'll get some new info.

It's not supposed to be combined arms really. It's supposed to be sheer tank combat (and faggots soloing tanks) with little dickhole infantry here and there occasionally satcheling things.
