That is one of the most illegibly vague things I have read. What is he even saying?
Pretty sure he's saying that people should buy RO2 because the community is shit, and Facepunch is an example of how shit it is. Funny, I've been community hopping for a long time, and I must say, the General Games Discussion board is (generally) one of the better places I've been to. I'd rather post here than: Kotaku Destructoid The Escapist Gamespot IGN and the shit hole of gaming forums, GameFAQs It's not like I blindly worship this game, I check on it every few weeks and I try to get an idea of what it's like. If there is no beta/demo or I find it doesn't suit my tastes as much as I'd like, I'll probably only buy it once it goes on sale. I question every game from every developer, no matter how good their shit has been in the past. Dodged the Dragon Age II bullet that way, amongst many other games. But that said, I still think this guy is an asshat. Yeah, I'll totally go on record saying the Darkest Hour community is among the worst I've seen (almost being as bad as Counter-Strike at times), but the RO community has been far more welcoming than the Killing Floor community. A lot of their "pros" are just asshats with a lot of time on their hands.

But what happens in this thread, I post news, we discuss it or comment on it, Mr Jazzy usually has something that he disagrees with, we have a conversation (conversation, not argument, so no name calling or stupid posts) and then we all go back to how RO2 will be a fun game. If anything that just proves how great the RO2 community is if you are using the people who post in here as a example, but if he is taking other parts of the forum to prove RO2 is shit then he is a complete moron. Especially compared to those sites you posted and DH and CS there is no way you can say the community is completely shit for RO. Oh well, back to on topic posts, it's nice to know that the Devs have taken notice of our thread over here.
The thing about the author of the rant is this. He's upset he didn't get into the beta. The discussion here is far more level headed than things on the official forums. Frankly, the things he said? I wouldn't put any stock into them if I were you guys, or really, members of any forum good or bad. He's just butthurt. ;) The time would be better spent discussing the game itself rather than his rant in this and other threads.

Well back to the game, will we able to see our feet when we look down? reason I ask is because one of the biggest selling points of RO is the immersion, I personally find that being able to see your legs adds greatly to the immersion and actually makes you feel like that character. It's fine if your not allowed to reveal that yet or not. Anyone else think that seeing your feet adds a lot to the immersion of the game?

It adds to it a bit but to be honest it ranks way lower than other little details like first-person weapon physics and reaching for mags on the player-model.
No? Well then. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] Why exactly don't KF and RO count as games exactly? The retail versions of both are quite a bit different from the mod versions, and just because they worked on them before it was meant to be published as real games doesn't mean that they just don't count.
I mean RO and KF are still real games but they weren't made as professional games, not that they are bad but professional developed games usually have different goals and such as mods. I'm still gonna critizise Tripwire's game instead of blindly trust them.
I see that we managed to get Yoshiro's attention. I am quite tempted to cry out for beta keys but I'll try not to do that.

I like how Yoshiro posts on a lot of different communities and likes to keep fans updated.
the thing that really bothers me too now that I've heard some of it, is the fact that they speak broken english/russian "throwin grenada" "grenada out" fuck that
I think it's a good idea to have the broken english. It helps players get more into the feel of what's going on, because it's easier to understand the emotion and tone going into other soldiers. All memorization aside, it makes understanding what's going on around you a LOT easier - especially for new players, who will probably walk in and already feel a little overwhelmed. If enemy players are going to use regular voices in their own language, there's probably a switch in options to use friendly foreign language at all times too. I mean, the lines would already be recorded, so why not?

I hope they will have a better melee system.
I hope they will have a better melee system.
Indeed.

MMmmmmm that wool.
but you can memorize the phrases pretty easily i did that with RO and now I don't even have to look at the chat to know what they're saying
And for people who don't do that? Or don't spend that much time for the game? What about for them? Just tough shit when they don't realize "Hey, wha- oh he said GRENAD *boom*"
I can only imagine what TW is going to add following the games release. There are so many things they did that changed up RO. That's why I love you TW.
honestly i don't see why they needed 3,000 lines of a language that 15% of the players understand really once you're in game all you are going to hear is blabble where you might pick up a few words sure it's extra content, but it seems overboard
Uhm, I don't know about you, but "Grenade!" or "OHFUCK MACHINE GUN!" isn't hard to pick up on, especially when I just watched a stream of yellow/green tracers tear apart my friend. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline]
Someone wanted capes/cloaks/whatever? Here's a Red Army cossack officer in winter dress:
Cossacks are ridiculously badass.
What if they eventually released a graphics update like they did with the original RO. :v:
What if they eventually released a graphics update like they did with the original RO. :v:
The game already looks beautiful, so if they did that I would probably rip off my penis and die of blood loss from jacking off so much.

I always felt that seeing your own body was just kinda gimmicky. It's like how people complain you can't walk around your ship in every space game that gets released. Now, if you could look down and see your wounds, bandages, even the near misses (bullets that only hit fabric or grazed the skin) that would be different. THAT would be immersive. Otherwise, don't cloud up my vision with useless crap.
is that a huge magazine or two separate ones in the MP40?
is that a huge magazine or two separate ones in the MP40?
Two separate ones. Its the MP-40/II
I can only imagine what TW is going to add following the games release. There are so many things they did that changed up RO. That's why I love you TW.
Well. They could add the M5 Stuart from the Pacific war mod if it's slightly reskined since a diesel version was used by the Russians from american lend lease. Was used very limitedly but used none the less. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] It would have like no use what so ever with its 37 mm cannon unless its mostly infantry. Or if for the Germans they add the Panzer 3.
Not really. I always felt that seeing your own body was just kinda gimmicky. It's like how people complain you can't walk around your ship in every space game that gets released.
I'd have to disagree, just even having your body there for me makes it feel like I have presence in the game world. Otherwise I often just get the feeling that I’m just a floating head with arms, especially when jumping down off things. Helps to see where your feet are in ruins as well! But as you said, I would do something obscene for full Track IR support in this with full third person animations.
STG-44 is awesome.
Was just playing in the 70 slot DH realism server, that was probably the most fun I have had in DH in awhile.
