I love the way RO2 is handling it though, looking at this GIF

It looks like the German reacts to being hit in the leg instead of just standing there and taking it, and how the bullets go right through him, it looks amazing. It might mean though that bullets can still hit a body after death instead like RO where the bullets just go through the bodies and how there is no collision with the bodies.
That's what I'm talking about. The ragdolls all seem to have a "life" to them. Rather than just flopping over they look like they WANT to stay alive. They remind me a lot of Band of Brothers, as in it looks like an actor is performing the death but in reality it's all dynamic.
I'm probably way more excited for the clan beta then I should be, considering I'm not in a clan but at least it means that the closed beta is getting closer. Thanks Yoshiro for the information. Oh well back to some RO1 for me then.

Yep, it looks amazing, here is another GIF I found that shows it up close

It just looks amazing and a big step up from how in games now the soldier barely reacts and just stands there while getting shot and don't react. It actually feels like your shooting a person insteal of a moving robot that just takes it and dies.
I can't stop watching, it looks so fluid and natural. Its like they got the right amount of free aim down and animations just looks terrific.

Exactly, it's the perfect balance and it's just stunning, I really don't see why games don't do this, it adds A LOT to the game. Damn Tripwire, stop making me want RO2 more then BF3 I'm supposed to be huge fans of both.
I really hope we get the soundtrack with the normal game or the collectors edition (which I would buy instantly) again here is the link to some of the samples if you have never heard them, they are beautiful and amazing http://samhulick.com/music-all/rohos
Also we need start a FP clan to get into the clan beta :v:
I can't wait to get a computer that can run this! :saddowns:
it's just unreal engine, i really doubt you need a beast to run it
This is not your daddy's unreal engine :) We do alot of processor intensive things combined with larger maps with alot of detail. We will post the min and recommended specs soon, but don't expect that you can run RO 2 if you ran UT 3.
I love how it is in Killing Floor, the lowest settings are so... well, low, that even my grandmother rig could run it.
do you guys think i should buy red orchestra? ive been seeing all these screenshots and videos and it looks great should i??
RO2?
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
I'm assuming you're going to buy the game and you know you will, you just wanted confirmation, so you came into this thread to get people to say "Yes, buy the game" so that you can get the game and be excited for it.
no should i get ostfront, im not sure if i should
I'll say don't get it, but everyone else will say yes.

Just what I wanted to hear. Gotta move forward, after all. So glad that quadcores are cheaper than a Vietnamese whore.

I agree. If this was 2007 I'd say jump on it, but in my experience Danzig is the only viable option for population and ping. Just wait for the vastly superior sequel that comes out next month.

What are you talking about, RO is designed so you can play with a high ping, I have played in the Russian server fine with 200 ping and you have the US TWB server and the Europe server is mostly full through out the day with very low ping.
Only reason MrJazzy tells people not to get it because he says public play is boring because he plays in a realism unit, obviously if the guy has never experienced that then he would have fun playing public like most others.
To answer that guys question yes you should buy it, even though RO2 is coming out soon it's only $10 and completely worth it for that price one of the best immersive WW2 games out at the moment and if your waiting for RO2 Darkest Hour and RO would keep you satisfied easily.
Maybe so, but all of the games are so unorganized and everybody is just doing their stuff.
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
I would have wished there was a squad system or something to keep public play better.
How is a game designed to play with a high ping?
Well, the ping is not a problem in RO for me.

Good thing RO2 has a squad system but I agree that it is a big unorganized if you have never played in a realism unit it would be pretty hard to notice. But I understand where you are coming from, it's like going to PCs from Consoles, you obviously wouldn't want to go back to something that's not as great as a experience but if you never played on the PC then you really wouldn't know what that PC guy is talking about because you never experienced it. So the console guy would still be having fun because he doesn't notice any of the problems you notice.
How is a game designed to play with a high ping?
Because of the way the net code is.
Well, yes, I don't think RO is a bad game or anything. Perhaps it's the maps, I tend to like DH alot better.
Will RO2 have any sort of Pre-order bonus? I hope not.
We are rolling into our Clan Beta: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?p=773502#post773502
Clans never appealed to me. Until now. :v:
Will RO2 have any sort of Pre-order bonus? I hope not.
I highly doubt it since the devs are trying to prove a point of how the big names titles are fucking people over.
i think ill wait for the second one
Will RO2 have any sort of Pre-order bonus? I hope not.
The only thing I can think of is that whole pre load thing that steam does.
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
So basically playing the game as it comes out?

WHAT SERVER BROWSER ARE YOU PEOPLE USING
Seriously though, what is it? Whenever I look (save for very late at night) there's 50 person servers nearly full/full (3-4 of them usually). Yes, get RO.
It has also been suggested that we would have you fighting Chavs instead of zombies at that point as well.
Call it Chav Floor, make the patriarch a giant chav DJ, sell it retail for $9.99
Marketing genius.

What would you say is a ballpark estimate for what RO2 will most likely need for recommended? something around the 5770 range, or lower? I can assure you that my CPU is ready for this though ;).
On a side note, I saw RO1 for retail purchase at Best Buy yesterday. Made my day, no doubt.
Too bad I'm not in a clan for the beta
We should start our own Facepunch clan, just so we can all be in the beta!
Yea.. and just link Yoshiro to this thread again

Not all of them are players though. Bots.

The preorder bonus should be 10% off.
That is the best preorder bonus.
