We are so close now. I remember back in well.. uh, ages ago. When I tried Red Orchestra during a free weekend, fresh from Counter-Strike, or whatever I was playing back then. I jump in. Huge trench map. I run, get shot. Repeat ten times. I go "What is this for kind of shitty game?!" Not sure if the following happened during said free weekend or if it was one later on. But I managed to get my first kill and I thought "This game is awesome!" And now.. I'm a huge fan of realistic games thanks to Tripwire!
wow you should write a novel
So, have we made a FP clan yet?
We'd need a clan server and It'd have to be pretty serious for it to work. Which it probably won't :v:
I wonder if the anti tank rifle will make that "Oh shit!" sound every shot :v:
We should start our own Facepunch clan, just so we can all be in the beta!
Alright, someone set up the website and the forums, form a steam group and make a name :v:
wow you should write a novel
Indeed I should. Still, doubt it will get any longer then that.
And you have to be 18+! ;~;
Not sure if the follow happened during said free weekend or if it was one later on. But I managed to get my first kill and I thought "This game is awesome!"
There is so much unbelievable satisfaction in making a kill. It's like when you played your first online FPS, and your death count was high, kill count was low, but you got your first kill off some guy and you just felt awesome. That, and the fact that you KNOW how awful getting shot in that game is... well, it doesn't hurt to feel bad :)
Screw a clan, I just want a FP server :v: Based in England or Central Europe.
Do any else of you when playing Darkest Hour just mess around the Shooting range sometimes? RO2 really needs one I think to help with Range estimation, and all the Ballistics and possibly even tank gunning.

See they are always one step ahead.
I need to install Darkest Hour ;_; What's it like? What's the Pros/Cons compared to regular RO?

Clan server? Get Profanwolf!
I need to install Darkest Hour ;_; What's it like? What's the Pros/Cons compared to regular RO?
Think of it as the ARMA of RO, it's more focus on tanks, huge open maps, it's more organized during the matches as a lot of the clan that runs it is usually in there. Also there is a 70 player server which is awesome to play on. Cons are that the 29th are sometimes major dicks but that's all I can think of on the top off my head atm.
Clan server? Get Profanwolf!
Didn't he say we was going to host a realism unit? come on Profranwolf, get us into the beta.

For tanks you wouldn't really need it, as there's a humongous tracer and a definite "did I hit or no" after ranging in factor, but with infantry most guns don't even have tracers, and unless you're on a shooting range you won't be seeing really where your shots are landing. If RO2 does it right there won't be massive puffs of dust and huge amounts of sparks thrown everywhere when you shoot things, so it'll be even harder.
Not all of them are players though. Bots.
No, all of them are players. 0% bots. Not the 32 player servers, the 50 player ones. [editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
I need to install Darkest Hour ;_; What's it like? What's the Pros/Cons compared to regular RO?
Pros: Tank combat. Cons: Maps.
Damn, the registration closed down for the clan beta. We should of made that FP clan earlier :v: Also where is this shooting range in DH you guys are talking about? I don't think I have ever seen this in the mod.
Pros: Tank combat. Cons: Maps.
IMO Pros: Tank Combat/Some tank maps Cons: Dreadful infantry maps 75% of DH maps consist of pure "run into enemy gunfire and die 20x" Only the tank and combined arms maps are good.

That's Hollywood bullshit.
Dust, yes. Sparks, no. That's Hollywood bullshit.
Well if you're shooting dirt I don't think I've seen dirt get thrown up, not enough to be seen past 100 meters at least.
Well if you're shooting dirt I don't think I've seen dirt get thrown up, not enough to be seen past 100 meters at least.
Wait sorry, I think I read your post wrong. I was just saying that sparks flying everywhere only happens in action movies.
That shooting range is pretty weird, jumped a bit when those white soldiers came up in the house windows, it kind of just throws you in there and your completely confused.
Well that was pretty dang fast. I was playing on the 29's DH server a minute ago, and I killed a team-mate on accident because he ran right around the corner aiming at me, INSTANT BAN before I could even say sorry in chat.

Yeah one of them got pissed at me when I friendly fired even though I immediately apologized. :v:
