Reposting for the new page in case someone misses it:
Exactly, that's why Tripwire is amazing, when people start making bullshit posts they respond and tell them that they are wrong and to shut up. Anyways here is the amazing box art, for people who love the Mkb 42 with the bayonet and the sights, you will love this, also confirms that snipers get capes: also System Requirments revealed:
Minimum: • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 • Processor: Dual Core 2.3 GHz or better • RAM: 2 GB • Graphics card: 256 MB SM 3.0 DX9 Compliant NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX or better ATI Radeon HD 2900 GT or better • Sound: Windows Supported Sound Card • DirectX: DirectX 9.0c • Hard Drive: 8 GB free hard drive space Recommended: • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 • Processor: Quad Core 2.6 GHz or better • RAM: 3 GB • Graphics card: 512 MB SM 3.0 DX9 Compliant NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 or better ATI Radeon HD 5750 or better • Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy or better • DirectX: DirectX 9.0c • Hard Drive: 8 GB free hard drive space
I can't wait to run it maxed, hell yeah.
Just let us pre order the god damn game already. :C
I just want to say, that RO2 boxart is absolutely badass. I can't wait for the marketing campaign to really ramp up.
Q: But but but, what about bayonets!@#$@#$ A: Ok we'll give you this one. We've decided that everyone that owns RO1 will have a day 1 unlock of the bayonets for the Kar98 and the Mosin Nagant 91/30. So go stab happy right out of the gate! The other weapons you'll still have to earn them, but this is our compromis
FOR THE FATHERLAND!
Damn. With that sexy box-art I am considering retail now
Huge post by Ramm detailing things about what people are worried about, saying why the press didn't record HD footage and all the other fun stuff, read it: So if you were worried about anything don't be and when August comes around expect me to post all those details he talks about as they come. Looks like we also get the bayonets as instant unlocks from day 1 because we own RO, hell yeah, if there is any of you guys who are getting RO2 but don't own RO that are reading this, watch your backs for us. This part makes me really excited for RO2 I was expecting immersion to the point of me feeling like I was in WW2 but THAT much immersion, holy fucken shit. I can't fucken wait and if you had any doubts this post should clear them all up for you really.
Good to see the developers not giving in. There is nothing worse than a long time fan who now thinks RO is his franchise and will bitch and whine at the smallest change. Obviously sometimes they are right and the dev really is dumbing down the game, but this is not the case (at least I don't think so, can't really speak until I've tried it).
I just wonder if the MG34 will have something like a belt magazine instead of just the drum mag. Having the MG34's more controllable fire rate with more ammo would just be awesome.
Screw it I'm getting retail. [editline]21st July 2011[/editline] I do have the original on retail anyways, so why not.
Steam or bust here. I want to be able to play RO2 the moment it comes out/I wake up.
If you pre-order it retail you should get it by release so you'll probably only miss a few hours.
If you pre order you probably get access to a pre load.
Yes, but installing from a disc doesn't take long.
Cannot FUCKIN WAIT!!!! Gah fuck I need to play some RO :v:
I'm guessing they'll have retail set up like they did with killing floor, where you can activate it on steam right away anyway.
If you pre-order it retail you should get it by release so you'll probably only miss a few hours.
That's true, but I can't really go to the store at midnight. I'd have to wait throughout the whole day to pick it up and play.
Hmmmm get it on Steam which lets me get it as soon as possible or get it a couple of hours later for the amazing box, the box it is. Also the main website shows how it looks on the case and the Russian version, (which I kind of like a bit better personally): http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com/ Tripwire must be massive trolls for throwing the Mkb 42 on the box with all the attachments :v: I'm surprised though that no one has complained about it yet. Oh look Yoshiro is here, that must mean we are getting exclusive beta news and keys, am I right? (a man can dream)
That's true, but I can't really go to the store at midnight. [editline]21st July 2011[/editline] I was gonna complain about the cover because I don't like the way it portrays the game very good but meh, it looks good and that's what matters.
Tripwire and DICE are duking it out for my money.
Tripwire and DICE are duking it out for my money.
Tripwire is winning my money. I'm not sure about BF3, keep hearing bad stuff about it, I may get it after release it seems good enough.
Both are getting my money. Where are you guys hearing this bad stuff though? All I've heard complained about BF3 is Origin and the preorder weapon bonuses, the latter rectified.
Yeah it's mainly origin I'm worried about, gonna wait it out and see if they will be using it.
Clan server? Get Profanwolf!
Profanwolf has moved his servers under a new name. While this may come off as an opportunity to advertise for it, he does want to host a Red Orchestra 2 server at some point. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/fedorafellows Join the group if you feel like it since that is where we'll mention anything about that. Also, Profanwolf is running around in Finland for the time being.
Tripwire and DICE are duking it out for my money.
Get RO2, it's $20 cheaper :v:.
I must agree with Ramm. He, and the rest of TWI must be so damn exhausted by now and the game still isn't done. I've never worried that RO2 will deliver and I think that people are overreacting. It is a game after all.
This, BF3, and Skyrim too? Please, take my money already
Both are getting my money. Where are you guys hearing this bad stuff though? All I've heard complained about BF3 is Origin and the preorder weapon bonuses, the latter rectified.
For me personally right now I think all the hype is just because it's a sequel to BF2, we really haven't seen anything special that makes it a worthy BF sequel yet, I have played them all from Bf1942-BC2 (only one I didn't play was MC) but what I want to see if just straight gameplay of 64 players on conquest which is the way it's meant to be played. No cut aways showing different things, no music in it, just straight 64 player conquest Those leaked videos helped a bit but it was weird to watch as you can tell it was trying to be BF2 while doing it in a BC2 style. I am a huge BF fan as much as the next original fan but right now all the hype isn't necessary as we haven't seen yet on how it is a true BF game yet. Everyone is just going nuts because it is BF3. Edit: Basically they should do what Tripwire did, do long interviews and show the game for a long period of time (30 min maybe) of straight gamepaly showcasing all the features and how it all works in a 64 player battle. In reality we have not seen any game play on what makes it BF yet.
Profanwolf has moved his servers under a new name. Also damn, he leaves as soon as we can use him to get into the beta.
Yeah it's mainly origin I'm worried about, gonna wait it out and see if they will be using it.
Origin is nothing to worry about. It doesn't even run after you've opened the game, is very small, doesn't really do anything so there's nothing to complain about.

People are somehow way too scared of Origin Anyways, back to RO2.

So yes, I'm certain that we will see some nice [del]arcadey servers for all of you COD fans out there[/del] realism server for us all to enjoy. I am also keen on the Co-Op mode of the game. Wonder if there ever will be some sort of survival. Now I haven't checked this thread all that much but I saw a bit further back that you already seem to have the beta? At least it says that you've played 0.1 hours of RO2. Forgive me for my ignorance but at least that is what it appears to be.
what i've always wanted in red orchestra is local voice chat that has a realistic range that enemy players can overhear, and then a radio class that relays messages to other classes as an optional realism element for clans, of course, this wouldn't work with public matches at all
