I demand tank media! i fucking love the tank gameplay in this game, anyone got recent videos or info on it? And sorry if this was displayed obviously in the last few days, i've been living under a rock.
Here is some small but old tank footage showing the destruction that they can do to buildings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zogCqAI2uY&t=4m16s

A post by Ramm detailing a bit about realism, relaxed realism and custom game modes:
Some of the other guys already mentioned this, but essentially we're still playing around with the realism/relaxed realism mode settings and they aren't finalized yet. Basically we've got a bunch of options and we're still working on nailing down which ones will be turned on/off for the different settings levels. But I'll give you some answers that you should not consider set in stone: 1) Are there weapon unlocks in the Realism mode? Are there rare weapons? Yes and yes. 2) Are there heroes in the Realism mode? Yes 3) Is there player progression (increased running speed ect. for experience players) in the Realism mode? Yes 4) How in depth will the Custom mode filter be? Can we select our filter to only show Custom mode servers, and then further specify the filter to show Custom mode servers with no unlocks? You can filter by "Standard", "Realistic", and "Custom". We may look at adding some additional filtering features should they be needed post release. 5) In Realism/Custom mode without unlocks/rare weapons will the players be issued common equipment such as bayonets and PPSH-41 drums? Will servers be able to choose which specific weapons or unlocks are unavailable? In custom mode you have a lot of different options. You can limit which weapons, and which levels of ranking are available. So if you don't want the rare weapons, you can tell the server not to allow them. If you don't want guys to have "perks" or any ranking benefits, then you can limit that. I don't think there are any settings to force things on though. In realism mode however, it is going to be set up where only the historically correct classes are equipped with pistols. 6) Are there any plans for an "RO Classic" game mode (Realism but with no player progression, no rare weapons and no unlocks)? Or is this what the Realism mode is going to be? No there is not a plan for this. To be perfectly honest with you, most of the RO1 players coming into the beta love the new game so much it doesn't really seem necessary. Although you can accomplish most of these things with different settings in the Custom mode. 7) Aside from the HUD and the features mentioned above, what else is different in Realism VS Relaxed modes? Are there any differences in running speed ect.? Currently core gameplay does not change. Bullets still kill you, you run at the same speed, etc. This is subject to change though as we finish balancing the game out. The difference between the two modes is primarily about hud features, spectating modes, etc.
There's literally nothing i've heard from the devs I don't like. It bothers me how many people complain, bitch, and moan over the smallest details, or their perception of how the game should be.

Also if you want the box art for a wallpaper, thanks to the Rising Storm team they uploaded it http://www.risingstormgame.com/gallery/category/4-wallpapers it's only the Russian cover though and it's the last 2, not the ones with the cats :v: In other news my new avatar is awesome.
Is Rising Storm coming out on the same day as RO2?
Is Rising Storm coming out on the same day as RO2?
Probably not.
New footage http://www.gamereactor.no/nyheter/125234/En+titt+p%E5+Red+Orchestra+2/
Is Rising Storm coming out on the same day as RO2?
No, but Tripwire will be working to help finish it post-RO2 launch iirc. It'll be out not long after. My bet is like a month, month and 1/2. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] Also, new gameplay is cool but mostly just shows off cover and first-person animations. I'm glad to see they kept first-person death animations though, like in RO1. Really helps with immersion.
I remember they saying they had only finished making the panzer 4 and i think t-34 and it's already pretty damn close to release and i still haven't seen any new tanks will will there be only pz4s and t-34s? :tinfoil:
I remember they saying they had only finished making the panzer 4 and i think t-34 and it's already pretty damn close to release and i still haven't seen any new tanks will will there be only pz4s and t-34s? :tinfoil:
Yep, because as they said it takes 6 months to make each tank so only on release will be the Panzer and the T-34. Though after release Tripwire will model more tanks and release them for free.
I still can't wait for Co-op in a T-34 rolling through Stalingrad mowing down infantry.

Js and T-70s in a later free patch.
wait there's coop in RO2?
Atleast look at it like this guys. They can make multiple panzer 4 / T-34 variants [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
wait there's coop in RO2?
I believe so.
wait there's coop in RO2?
Yes. I think its just the singleplayer with more than one person. The SP isn't story driven or anything, more just complex battle scenarios.
why must my computer be terribad
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but:
Yes. I think its just the singleplayer with more than one person. The SP isn't story driven or anything, more just complex battle scenarios.
It isn't? I thought I heard about single player voice acting.
wait there's coop in RO2?
Yes, the Steam page: Co-op: Players can connect with their friends and battle AI in multiple game types including the Stalingrad Campaign, Skirmish Mode, and more.
It isn't? I thought I heard about single player voice acting.
There's some intros, but we're not talking Call of Duty 2 style SP here.
There's literally nothing i've heard from the devs I don't like.
I have, the min hardware requirements... :suicide:
I wonder what Tripwire will work at after they release this...
I wonder what Tripwire will work at after they release this...
Prob fixing bugs, new content to make the game better. I remember when they improved the run animations in RO1.
Prob fixing bugs, new content to make the game better. I remember when they improved the run animations in RO1.
This, but if you mean in terms of a game then I would guess Killing Floor 2 considering one of the devs said this "from how well Killing Floor sold it would be rude to not make a sequel" But I would love to see what they could do with a new IP, considering they just opened up a new Studio.
I think the singleplayer will be a lot like the one in Brink.
