There's a recycle bin in windows?
Yes, I always have my desktop sorted like that.
My desktop is a mess, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
So someone asked about the beta and such and this is what Alan said:
Demo for RO2 - no.
Free weekends at some point - quite likely.
Beta - there will be more about that next week. There will be more opportunities!
Lets hope that means we either get a date as to when the beta starts, or if the beta starts next week I'm going to go insane.
And the creative Director confirmed that RO2 will sell more then BF3, they were discussing about TF2 promotions then he said
This is a confirmation of TF2 awesomeness
Suddenly millions flock to buy RO2 for hats

I'd love to see more than just hats, maybe rifles? That would be cool.
If TF2 is getting hats or weapons, RO2 sales will skyrocket.
If TF2 is getting hats or weapons, RO2 sales will skyrocket.
I'd love to see the Karabiner 98k as a TF2 promo gun.
I'd love to see the Karabiner 98k as a TF2 promo gun.
I could also see Sniper getting a PPSh-41 replacement for the SMG :v:.
People would buy it for sure for WWII weapons if TF2.
And we'd get lots of fresh meat. And RO freshmeat ain't yout ordinary TF2-goes-free-to-play freshmeat. :v:
I tried Red Orchestra again last night as I was useless at it coming from Call of Duty, but ARMA 2 has sort of helped me.. we was on Danzig and I killed 6 or 7, okay not a shit load but I got some.
My best shot was with a rifle, we was being surpressed from a window on one bridge and I managed to get a good angle and kept firing when I saw something in the slightest, managed to get him :v:
Danzig is quite different from most maps. It's just tight where as a ton of them are all open. So while it's a nice map to start with. It's not the best thing to base the game off of.

Oh man. The RO fresh meat is going to be more hilarious then a mount and blade vanilla multiplayer game after the steam sale. People just didnt know how to use weapons at all and it was fucking hilarious.
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
People holding their SMG's down and them blasting to the roof.
Rifles swaying everywhere.
No one using cover to prop up their rifles.
Charging ahead.
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
Tanks running into battle and people's computers lagging up because of specs.
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
Oh man it's hunting season.
It's like that for every new game though.
It's like that for every new game though.
Indeed, and they said it would be easier to learn how to play RO2 than the original.

So did your realism clan get into the beta?
It's like that for every new game though.
For the sake of argument, Call of Duty doesn't have the same learning curve as a game like RO.
Generally RO noobs have a much higher noobishness percentage than those in other games. It'll essentially be live target practice with quite a lot of people.

Being able to hipfire people that are using the SMG with a bolt action rifle is so satisfying.
Infantry will be tough, but by far Im looking forward to the huge cans of rape me and my buddy are going to open up on the tank maps when we team tank.
Its like the regular live target practice but the targets are crammed inside a scantly armored metal box. I think the fact that there's an AI crew will actually decrease people's reaction time.
I think that the best fucking rifle ever in Ro is the DH enfield.
You can hip fire people from long range if you know how to use it, it's just fucking amazing.

I would have to agree with that. The Enfield is amazing in DH.

Easy to aim, fast bolt cycling, ten rounds. It's just perfect.
I told you the RO2 and BF3 fans will have a little fight, see, I was right :v:
As for now, those are just little fights and flames here and there. I wonder if it gets worse when both release.
That's kind of stupid though, its hard to compare BF3 to RO2. The main reason for the fights is probably that, that the games kind of shared their features to each other.
I'm still a fan of both, I am looking forward to RO2 a bit more though.
Comparing RO2 to BF3 is like comparing ArmA to Call of Duty.
Just no room to compare.
Its because RO2 is the BF3 killer :downs:
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
BF3 has guns, RO2 has guns, they have so much in common it's hard not to compare them!
So did your realism clan get into the beta?
I'm not sure yet, if so then probably not the whole clan. I'm very very low ranked in my unit so I don't really know what's going on.
Lets hope that means we either get a date as to when the beta starts, or if the beta starts next week I'm going to go insane.

Fuckall I'm going to be on vacation next week and half of the following week :saddowns:
(not that that's a bad thing, mind you)

Doesn't change the fact that RO2 will have a longer shelf life with modding and an awesome supporting developer!

Oops, I didn't mean the two respectfully towards one another.
Let me fix that.

Woo also getting Red Orchestra 2 for £5 from Amazon, as i'm getting a £20 voucher from lovefilm :D
Wow, the running animations are actually immensely effective in telling who's a German, whomever thought up that in the dev team deserves a high-five.

Tripwire said that the soldiers were trained to run like that actually.

Attention to detail is always a welcome thing

Right, the genius is the idea of putting that in the game.
If anyone was planning to make maps for RO2 and wanted to get a head start
Download the September version of UDK and when the RO2 SDK is out you should be able to port that map into RO2s SDK and continue working on it.
