Already near the top of the top sellers.
Tripwire gunna be richer.
Well, August 30th is the release.
I'm guessing by August 16th.

How does that top seller list work, is it based on how many people at once were per pre ordering at the moment or over all. Because I can't see RO2 passing Deus Ex or Portal 2. Unless it's in the same boat as RO where the devs had so many pre orders that they re made all their development money before the game was even released.
Definately going to preorder, I don't really like the idea of unlocking weapons on day-one though. I'd prefer to unlock shit myself.
Wow, a 40$ game and it's 20% off if you pre-order so it's 30$. I'm so happy Tripwire didn't jump in the 60$ games bandwagon, I want that game even more now :v:
Okay, I got this £20 voucher for Amazon which I was planning on getting Red Orchestra 2 with, but I saw the Deluxe Edition on Steam for £23.99 and the plan was to buy Fifa 12 also when it comes out, which will also be £25.. so I could just get Deluxe Edition and use voucher on Fifa 12 which will end up costing me cheap now and I get bonus stuff with the Deluxe that I never even expected of getting such as beta :v:
So, Deluxe worth the £4 extra?

I only see it worth it if you want to support tripwire (why wouldn't you?) or really want into the closed beta soon.
Pre-ordered.
So where can I get more info on the Beta?
Wow, digital deluxe is only $40...
Gotta get that. First digital deluxe version of something I've ever gotten. :v:

Well maybe for the beta access if you want a beta key for sure, the weapons are "meh" really, 2 are hero weapons that only 1-2 people will use per match, and it would be more fun to unlock those your self, to reach that "hero status" and the other 2 are 2 stupid semi automatic snipers that i think are worthless, (worthless meaning, that as a semi automatic sniper is not worth it and the bolt action ones are amazing to use them selves, a semi-automatic sniper is not even needed really and I don't know anyone who sniped in RO that used one, my self included.
But for $4 extra and a beta key, sure it's worth it. I still would of liked for them to have the damn amazing soundtrack included but maybe with a collectors edition.
I really don't like getting 6 Pre-Unlocked weapons tough :(
I really don't like getting 6 Pre-Unlocked weapons tough :(
I doubt you'll be able to use them very much though because of the class limitations, or I hope so.

Not 6, 4, the bayonets don't count because really they shouldn't be unlocks, and they aren't guns :v:
To answer your other question, we will get more info on the beta this week.
And like MrJazzy said, 2 are Hero weapons that 1-2 people per server will use and the other 2 are snipers that aren't that good compared to their bolt action counter parts.

I want this! Also to support tripwire too, a company that still believes there is a lot more to do in WW2 games and respects the community's view on things. But the beta, depends when they give access and whether it is JUST to Deluxe owners. If they are going to give out keys then I might as well wait for that and buy regular; although giving out keys means open beta I think? Not too sure with that sort of stuff, somebody re-correct me where necessary.
Yeah I'm really happy to be having a new, modern WW2 shooter again. That era was awesome, it's a shame it ended and pretty much everyone started making 'mordern warfare' games.

I would personally rather have the soundtracks included.

They said the closed beta will have 20,00 keys only, so even though most of the guys that want RO2 already pre ordered the Deluxe Edition for their own key, I have no doubt that those beta keys are going to disappear really fast. But it's not a open beta, un less they decide to change it to that, they have stated that it will be only a closed beta.
So it depends, spend the extra money and support Tripwire and get a guaranteed spot in the beta or get the normal one and risk not getting in. Your choice really.

Nah, it ended when companies kept making the exact same WW2 game every year, which that basically pushed into another era because people were getting pissed about the same WW2 game over and over again, the same exact thing is going to happen to the modern era soon.

The game that got me into them was Call of Duty 1+2, the singleplayer campaign. Then I tried out Battlefield 1942 for a different experience. What I liked about Red Orchestra 2 was how serious people took it and that it wasn't easy to pick up for many, so killing a target felt satisfying. For me when it came out, it took me ages to get into because the learning curve with the lower graphics didn't convince me until I eventually got over the "graphics is a big issue" problem. Now though, the graphics look amazing and we have even more refined realistic gameplay (from what I have witnessed).
No game got me into WW2 really, I was young and my first voilent game was BF1942, since then I played Call of Duty 1&2, Medal of Honor and some other games, I never really thought about it as WW2, I only realised how much I loved the era when I got a little bit older, like 10 or so. Yes the Call of Duty 1 and UO campaigns are awesome.
Ramm just posted some (sad) news about coop:
Unfortunately COOP had to be pushed to post-release. We will now be adding it in an update.
Oh well, Red Orchestra is at it's core a Multiplayer game, I won't mind waiting by playing Multiplayer with my friends.

that's probably not too bad. the campaign videos make it look like the AI is really buggy and shoddy anyway. maybe they can spend more time making the AI more responsive than just be coded to run from objective to objective.

Thats unfortunate. the SP is simplistic as I hoped it would be, but the coop was one of the more reedming factors in it.
Im curious as to what delayed it, I figured it'd just be the normal SP, but they'd plop some more players into the game.

Problem is that a ton of people were shouting "we're so tired of WWII games, do something different" in the not too distant past. I explicitly remember there being a fair few fpers complaining about it after MoH: airborne and WaW came out.
Funny how things change so quickly.
Also does anyone know about when access to the last part of the closed beta begins/ends. I'm probably going to shell out the $40 anyways to support tripwire but I'm a bit curious.
I'm sad that coop was delayed, was really looking forward to that.

implying coop isn't multiplayer
I've played the first one, I liked the game, what are the main differences with this one?
I've played the first one, I liked the game, what are the main differences with this one?
the biggest thing i've noticed is that tanking has been pretty much redefined.
the problem with the first game is that tanking often had a lot of players with the inability to communicate (or rather, they don't want to communicate) and a lot of people would take off in an IS-2 by themselves, leaving tons of crew members behind and no tanks. in RO2, apparently the tanks are all AI-occupied other than one player. It sounds to me like you can drive the tank more of a BF2 style but I'm not quite sure how it works entirely. sounds exciting, though. Ostfront has amazing tank combat but it's so hard to play when you can't find any (or anybody to drive/gun for that matter)
