Someone on my Steam bought Regular, without realising Deluxe would include a beta.. would there be a way of contacting steam support for him to be charged that extra £4 to switch to Deluxe? They have original RO.

They can refund it for you, either refunding you or giving you steam-wallet money. With the steam wallet money + your method of purchase you could get the deluxe version easily.
you can send a ticket
Problem is that a ton of people were shouting "we're so tired of WWII games, do something different" in the not too distant past. I explicitly remember there being a fair few fpers complaining about it after MoH: airborne and WaW came out.
Funny how things change so quickly.
Also does anyone know about when access to the last part of the closed beta begins/ends. I'm probably going to shell out the $40 anyways to support tripwire but I'm a bit curious.
I was never one of them though and ofcourse the modern era is boring now, it's way overdone just as the WW2 was.

MoH: airborne is four years old and WaW is three years old. Since those two games came out Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Bad Company 1, Bad Company 2 and the latest Medal Of Honor have been released.

It's not that WW2 was overdone, It was that the games were pretty much all the same deal repackaged
the biggest thing i've noticed is that tanking has been pretty much redefined.
the problem with the first game is that tanking often had a lot of players with the inability to communicate (or rather, they don't want to communicate) and a lot of people would take off in an IS-2 by themselves, leaving tons of crew members behind and no tanks. in RO2, apparently the tanks are all AI-occupied other than one player. It sounds to me like you can drive the tank more of a BF2 style but I'm not quite sure how it works entirely. sounds exciting, though. Ostfront has amazing tank combat but it's so hard to play when you can't find any (or anybody to drive/gun for that matter)
Tanking is going to be way better then the original, it's going to feel way more that you are this guy inside a tank with all these other peolpe doing their job, your in this small cramped space then all of a sudden a shell penetrates the tank and hits the guy beside you, you see all this blood everywhere on the tank and the guy is all bloody and his arms missing. You crawl to his position and push him as side to continue his job and try to take out the other tank. It is going to be one of the most intense experiences within the game.
Basically almost like this
except with getting shot at.
So preordering deluxe guarantees a spot into the closed beta? I was planning on preordering later on this month when I get more cash but now I dont know. Don't want to miss that beta.
Was going to pre-order until i see a low violence version for us Australians.
I am really upset now.

That sucks, how long until that new rating thing takes effect? Or is that still even being talked about?
Thats because the Australian government knows whats best for everybody :downs:
Really though, I cant imagine it'd be very hard to mod back in. Not like there's going to be a vast encryption system to stop you from seeing gore
What the fuck?
Australian Store has it marked as the Low Violence version, seriously what the fuck.
We've put "LV" up for Australia because we haven't got the rating back yet - and dear old Oz has just announced the new higher rating category. We are HOPING that they will take the same view as PEGI/BBFC and NOT go all silly on us. However, until we're sure, we putting LV up to be safe. The Okkers may want to wait a few days and see what the end result is - but we'd hate for you to buy it and THEN find your ratings board can't cope with dismemberment (like USK...).
btw wtf is a okker.
So will the unlocked guns be limited? It will end up getting to a point were everyone is a max level and will just use the 'better' guns like the prototype STG right?
I have a question about the cover system.
Is it like Call of Juarez's cover system or do you click a button and you get glued to the wall?
It sounds like RO2 pre-orderers will have early access to a beta before keys are given out for that same beta. If you pre-order, you're pretty much in it seems.

Not sure about CoJ's system, but the cover system seems to be acting a lot like the original RO1's. Basically, the game reads moving/crouching near a cover area as cover, and you "automatically" enter into it. In the original, for instance, when you crouched near a window or sandbox, your character automatically hid himself. When you used the iron sights, he positioned himself out of cover enough to fire.
That's what I'm guessing, but not sure. It seems in some of the trailers that you might actually be pressing a button against things like walls.
I'm thinking you're pressing a button because you have the ability to blind fire now and slowly lean from cover, like ARMA.
Is that Vietnam mod releasing same day?
Austrailia seems like a worse place to live then some third world countries.
Waste all your money on stuff in real life.
See this.
HNNG
In Countdown Mode you have only 1 life per objective?
Sweet! That'll be my favorite gamemode for sure.
How do I access the BETA ?? I just bought the delux version and can't seem to get it..

This is awesome.
I would pre-order the Digital Deluxe version right now, but I want to wait for a North American Collectors Edition.
Also, for anyone who lives in the UK, I found this website listing a lot of auctions for military things, with a ton of WW2 stuff: http://warstuff.com/
Wait wait wait, forgive me if this has been asked a bajillion times before, but do you actually have to work as a team with other players to operate a tank?
If so, that's incredibly badass.

So tanks are one-man vehicles now, with AI doing the rest? Kind of defeats the purpose of making the game realistic in its depiction of tanks when they're controlled by just one player. Some of my favorite moments in RO were from successful coordination with my friends as we all manned the same tank.
Low violence?! Wait, what the fuck?!
Can I somehow get it uncut over Steam?

You can have 3 human players in one tank, but if one dies, an AI soldier will take their place.
At least, that's what I gather.
