So if you have an AI driver, you just tell him where to go- you don't drive and shoot like in CoD or World of Tanks?
Nope, there are 3 different positions in a tank in RO2, one is solely the driver, one is the commander (who fires the main gun and can stick his head out of a tank and use his binoculars to spot tanks and tell the crew what to do) and you have the guy using the MG to fire at infantry. It is not like other games where you are literally the tank.
You are inside the tank, which is fully modeled and detailed to it's real life counter part with a full crew, it is basically exactly how it would be if you were a tank crewmen serving in WW2. You can move around the tank and switch positions, enemy tank shells can penetrate the tank and kill your crew members inside.
It is all team work, no playing as a one man army guy driving a tank and doing everything them selves. If you look 1-2 pages back on the video I posted of the guys inside a tank. That is literally how it would be. This is completely different then how BF, World of Tanks and CoD do it.
Typical Mac user

OK, so above me some idiot decided to post a ton of black images and it said he was using a Mac. He got permabanned for spamming somewhere else on Facepunch and a mod deleted his post. Thank you, mod!
Now that the mod deleted that post, yours is WAY out of place.
I like Macs though.
Nope, it's AI controlled only, there was a discussion about this on the forums and there were some people who wanted to be able to load the shells (I actually thought it would of been pretty cool to quickly get a shell and load it in so we can fire at the enemy tank before we get blown up) but Tripwire decided not to.
Probably due to any new players getting this would be pissed off if they got a loader spot and sat there loading shells instead of blowing shit up.
Well shit, where the fuck was I? Loading the shells would be fucking awesome, can you imagine the situations you'd get in with friends?
"Ah shit, enemy armor at our 2, load a fucking shell!"
"I'm loading, I'm loading..."
"THERE'S ANOTHER FUCKING ARMOR AT OUR 10 LOAD THE FUCKING SHELL"
"GOD DAMMIT BWAAAAAAAA"
That might look/sound retarded but I've always held the high tension retarded moments in games with my friends the highest.
Pre-order'd. The price tag only makes it better.
Somewhat upset that the extra $10 for the deluxe is two models/two hats/day one unlocks, I'm fine with the regular pre-purchase myself.
Pre-Purchased the Deluxe with my 20% off so that Tripwire still gets $40.
We’ve put “LV” up for Australia because we haven’t got the rating back yet – and dear old Oz has just announced the new higher rating category. We are HOPING that they will take the same view as PEGI/BBFC and NOT go all silly on us. However, until we’re sure, we putting LV up to be safe. The Okkers may want to wait a few days and see what the end result is – but we’d hate for you to buy it and THEN find your ratings board can’t cope with dismemberment (like USK…).

I was actually pretty impressed with the promotional stuff. Killing floor characters, and some TF2 hats I could use, plus in game weapons that looks pretty nice. Plus the other standard preorder stuff.
Not to mention I love giving Tripwire my moneys.
poor fag here
anyone wanna donate 10$ to get me the game? ;D

i'm answering for everybody else; nobody is going to invest in an absolute stranger who has no reputation on the forum at all. nice guys are out there, sure, but you're in the wrong place if you're looking for freebies
Anyone else here getting the Standard over the DD version? I'm getting it mainly to avoid getting all the day one unlocks to get them myself.
The TF2 hats man. GENUINE.

stranger? no reputation?
seems you have no idea, who i really am.
and i never asked for the game. I just asked for some money to get the game -__

For me personally, the unlocks don't matter at all, I snipe A LOT as it's my favorite class to use in RO and I will never use a semi-automatic sniper, they are so bad to use compared to a nice bolt action sniper, there isn't a point in using them.
Also only 1-2 people per server will be using those hero weapons, so it's barely noticeable those, and I'm pretty sure you still need to unlock the rank of Hero to be able to us them.
Plus getting the Deluxe Edition, you get a spot in the beta (which will most likely happen this week or next week, next week is more realistic though) and Tripwire get's more money.

nobody cares who you are
it's apparent you can't afford a [cheap] videogame so you're probably too young for anybody to even bother wanting to invest in you anyway

Doh ho ho, don't we have a big man here.
Don't really care about the bonus stuff in DD. I just want to give TW more money.

I also heard that there is no overall health bar for the tanks, so it should be pretty fun to track the enemy tanks for rage. Or just shooting everyone but the radioman/hull mg'er.
To be honest, I think they should've had a TC/gunner distinction. There were tools for the gunner to see where the commander was looking to line up the shot, and that way you have one person that can engage targets while the other keeps looking around. Just throw in AI driver controlled by the commander, and things should be okay.
Who wants to be my designated gifting-buddy in the likely case that we get stuck with parts of our game missing? I want to give it two weeks or so to see what happens with the rating, but so far it seems like I'll need somebody to gift it to me. You'll be fully reimbursed by me through PayPal. I just want to get this figured out ahead of time.
I had to do this previously with L4D2 too. :australia:
PM me.

There is no health bar for tanks, but every part of the tank is modeled, you can hit it's engine and you can't drive it anymore, I'm pretty sure you can knock out another tanks track and you can start a fire in another tank. Tanking isn't exactly going to be simple, especially if you plan to track down enemy tanks.
Lets say you are playing in a 32v32 tank map, you have 31 other tanks that (with an organized crew) could easily take you out. Playing in a combined arms map? well good luck trying to avoid guys coming up behind you planting a satchel charge or enemy Anti-Tank guys who could easily take you out.
Also your suggestion sounds like making it more like CoD and other games where you are the tank, the main point of it is basically to be exactly like how it would be in real life, which means realistic, which also means a lot of team work. Why make the commander some how drive the tank while looking for targets, obviously you never played the original RO but tanking is almost done perfectly in there where RO2 brings it even closer to perfection and it works amazingly well, it sounds like you are a bit confused on how tanking works, wait for a beta video of it (if tanks are in beta) or wait till you try it your self in the beta or full game. You will see how making it like your suggestion completely ruins it's idea and ruins a perfectly good mechanic that I'm pretty sure Tripwire is the first to do. (Someone can correct me on that last part if I'm wrong)

Deluxe seems sexy, but I'll get the retail with the half price.
Austrailia seems like a worse place to live then some third world countries.
Okay seriously what, you can't play some games, that doesn't mean you're worse off than a 3rd world country. 3rd world countries have all the same problems that Australia has an a plethora more, worse problems.
