I like it seeing how for bolt action rifles in RO you have to learn how to handle them and using them properly is difficult. Having it at least be a small margin easier would be great if you're someone like me who actually enjoys them.
We haven't really seen how its used so we can't judge it yet. I mean, you are not going to have little to no recoil with a ppsh as if you're a super marine.
I heard it was just tiny bonuses like 20%
I hope it's released earlier, i want this game now :saddowns:
I'm happy that they are taking their time with the game and polishing it. Sure if it was out it would be great but man, have you seen the detail on those tanks?
I can't wait to shove some PTRD rounds through the viewports of unlucky tanks.

I hope the "more you use a particular weapon," only includes shooting it maybe in combination with time played with it, not "okay kill 500 people with it then get reasonable recoil." I swear to god I'm not buying RO2 if 9mm and 7.62x25 have as much recoil as they did in RO1. It's fucking stupid, SMGs were useless unless you were within melee distance.
Mounting weapons on surfaces reduced a ton of their recoil.

Yeah but you rarely had a place to rest a weapon, and if you did you were defending. Even then it was still really only effective at semi auto, unless they were within 15 meters.
Even then it as really buggy. Better than most systems, but compared to real life it really just didn't work the way a system like that should.
Okay so I had no interest in this because I'm no longer interested in WWII games but seeing some of these videos looks awesome

I found that the mp40 was actually good for up to about 100 meter ranges if you had it under two shot bursts. I find the mp40 to be one of the only controllable smgs that isnt used as a mounted lawn mower.

Are there any real differences in the MP40 and MP41? They seem to just use a different cartridge.

Hipfiring on Danzig with the PPsh was still fun.

I snipe with my MP and the PPS.
I snipe with my MP and the PPS.
Why? You're going to spend 5x more time doing that than with a rifle, and that's if you hit all of them. It's also extremely annoying.

The MP41 has a wooden buttstock, and is made by a different producer. There was actually a lawsuit over it.
The 29th is fun. :v:
They permabanned me because I guessed their server password when it was passworded. It was "29th".
The 29th is fun. :v:
I'll check it out. Judging by your post, it will be filled with stupidity of epic proportions.

Nevermind then.
Well I accidentally Tk'd one of the clanners there and he freaked out at me even after I said I was sorry. :v:
Forget the fact that it was a 90 minute game with near unlimited reinforcements.
At least now the tank users need to have more than one person using it, otherwise they will waste time climbing over shit just to have a CHANCE to aim at an enemy.
I would guess once Tank Destroyers get to a good camp spot they're fine.

I know that. I meant other then cosmetically is there anything different like damage wise. Since Ive seen it as a squad leader weapon.

Other spots will be filled with bots.

I've heard that the MP41 has less recoil, but I don't really know.
I've heard that the MP41 has less recoil, but I don't really know.
At most I'd think it'd have better meele damage, having a wooden stock would make it easier to smack someones head with it compared to the Mp40 half-witted stock.
If there's any FPS that's worth playing it's the Red Orchestra series.
Any news on the system requirements for this?
I definitely don't expect to be playing on maximum settings, but if I can run RO right now at maximum settings I should be fine, right?
It's based on the same engine that Unreal Tournament 3 is built on, which is from 2006/07 is if I'm not misstaken.

Looking forward to this, may join my old realism unit when this game comes out aswell!

Not really, that engine gets updated all the time, RO2 is based on the september build (2010) of the unreal engine.

Oh I see, well thanks.
I absolutely can't wait for this game to be released... it seems amazing.
It's nice to see good WW2 games that aren't centralized on the American side.
I wonder if one on the German side would be a good game.........wait no, it would be so badly received it would be scrapped faster than you can say "HEIL".
Now to make one on the French Resistance (not The Saboteur) and one on the Italian battlefields and it would be complete.

That would be unrealistic though because America won WW2.
