RO2 is #1 on Steam's Top Sellers list
tripwire deserves it.
That means we're going to have lots of freshmeat.
Nope, limbo is back on top again.
tripwire deserves it.
I always buy tripwire games and character packs for Killing Floor, as soon as it's available. I respect them because they started out as team of modders and actually care about their customers instead of most developers and publishers. But we all should thank Valve too Red Orchestra 2 would have never been possible without steam or the fact that they introduced a large audience to tripwire's games with crossovers etc.
I never played killing floor, I hear it's good but it's just one of those things I never bought and I regret it. I would buy it now, but there's about 7 games coming out next month that I NEED to own.
Killing Floor seems to go on sale every other week, though. it'll be the price of a sandwich. Unless you NEED to buy a sandwich, then you should be able to buy KF
I bought RO:1 yesterday and played it today. It's good but damn it takes a while to get used to it. I like it.
I just played some Red Orchestra 1. I think I'm in love. It reminds me of Day of Defeat, though.
Visually I can see a superficial resemblance. RO and Darkest Hour often "feel" like the DoD Goldsrc to me, something about the sharpened and gritty textures and game sounds. That's not necessarily a bad thing since DoD Goldsrc is a pretty good game. DoD:S on the other hand? No resemblance.
Stalingrad Campaign: Before heading online hone your skills in one of two campaigns that recreate the battle for Stalingrad from both the German and Russian sides. Featuring open non-linear environments and unscripted gameplay players make their own path through the battlefield. Yep, in red orchestra 2 you can. Source: http://store.steampowered.com/app/35450/
Story. Actual story. "This is the battle of Stalingrad" is a not an actual story. Tripwire got so close to doing what I meant... then they went and pretty much made it MP with bots. I know they didn't do that because it's pretty hard to find a single soldier who lived through all of WW2, and they couldn't have made someone up without people complaining...
Multiplayer Campaign Mode will be amazing.
Multiplayer Campaign Mode will be amazing.
Better not be just like ET's campaign mode.
I hope its possible to make a workaround for the gore without setting off any of the anti-cheats. I want my troops to splatter, damnit!
Why do your people tolerate this censoring? Why are there not protests?
Campaign will suck. If the bots could actually stick in groups and use cover/flank/supress then we'd have something worthwhile.

Red Orchestra is also about being that one soldier taking part in those huge battles, so now throw in tons of bots, even some tanks and artillery, now combined with Red Orchestras health system where 1 bullet can kill you, you know how hard it would be to complete a mission. Now currently with the campaign Tripwire talks about how their AI is not scripted at all so it is different every time you play it, now with adding an actual story, well you can't just remember how to exactly do something and pass through the mission with trial and error, so it's completely different every time. It would probably be impossible to beat a mission. To do it with an actual story of a person and their squad, you now have to change the health system where you can withstand bullets, change the maps entirely as remember bullets can penetrate through objects and walls so you would easily get killed, have your squad completely invincible and be that soldier that guns down hundreds of enemies by your self. It basically takes away everything that Red Orchestra is unique for, at least with this campaign it keeps what Red Orchestra is known for but unfortunately it doesn't have a story.
Campaign will suck. Well, the book on Cold War Soviet artillery I was going to buy for $30 suddenly was jacked up to $190. Looks like I'm getting the RO2 deluxe preorder now.
Why do your people tolerate this censoring? Why are there not protests?
Because not that many people care? It's not like their government jacked up the price of a loaf of bread by 500%
Never played RO 1, yet I'm very tempted to get this. Should I?
Never played RO 1, yet I'm very tempted to get this. Should I?
Yes
Honestly, it looks like I'll like this a lot more than RO1. I didn't hate RO1, I liked it, but I never really had a super amount of fun playing it. Either it was because normal RO was just 24/7 danzig (The ONLY server that always had players) and that really isn't a good map, or because I was playing Darkest Hour which was running for five minutes and then dying. This looks much better than that.

More or less whenever I hop into RO i see at least 3 nearly full 50 player servers: The TWB "Old Glory" American server, the TWB European server II (or sometimes both of them, I and II) and the Russian community server

So those European and Russian server that are there, you can play them. Even then you have TWBs US server. You usually have 3-4 full player server on all the time, usually at night though it's only 1-2 full servers but that's still fine.
Unreal's netcode is shit. I hate the glitchy looking jumping that it does.

Meh.
It would be nice having cutscenes in between maps to make it feel more like a campaign. Meh.
I already said it wasn't loading maps in chronological order, there is cut scenes in between Watch this video and when you see him clicking the Allies campaign you see the cut scene come up where you hear the Russian General telling you your objectives, giving you an overview of the map, what you need to do and take and generally whats going on. It is more in depth then just loading the next map, that's what I have been trying to say :v:
I was talking about a cinematic.
I was talking about a cinematic.
My bad, you mean something like seeing your soldier standing their with others getting their orders right? I think they said though they couldn't do something like that because they didn't have enough money, maybe something that could be added in the next RO.
Red Orchestra 3: Modern Warfare *now with cutscenes!
So does this require Steam? After I lost my account (with around 20 bought games) I made myself never use Steam again, mostly because I don't feel like starting all over again.

If I pre-order the deluxe and get access to the pre-release beta, when does the beta start? Is it available now?
