I just remembered something I was thinking about while endlessly spam clicking a full server in RO recently.
They really need to add an automatic join server option ala Valve games. I can't stand constantly clicking and seeing that "Server is now full" message one million times.

if you're joining a friends game you can do that in vanilla RO
I'm confused about the preorder bonuses.
Will only ostfront owners get the bayonets and badges? Or will both preorders and ostfront owners get it?
I'm confused about the preorder bonuses.

Both can get it, only bonus that Osfront owners get is an extra 10% off
Wait whoa whoa, source please? I'm not really into the idea of spawning with guns from the opposite side. Yeah I'm sure soldiers picked up enemy guns during battles, but they weren't necessarily handed an enemy rifle straight from the get-go. If I wanted to pick up a Commie gun when I'm German, I'll scrounge the battlefield and take it off a dead guy. I shouldn't spawn with it.
It all smacks me of Call of Duty WaW, because that was pretty much the same principle.
Well in the war it happend often. The Germans captured tons of russian equipment and givet them to the solders in the field like ppsh. You cant see on the photos because the propaganda... but in private photos you can see lots of them in new recruits hands.
they deserve your monies
Ya I just realized Tripwire is one of my favorite game devs and I'm all about supporting their shit. Getting deluxe.
Both can get it, only bonus that Osfront owners get is an extra 10% off
I don't think so, according to the Steam Store page
"Owners of the original Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 will also receive the following special weapons and items in Red Orchestra 2:"
So i would say no, only the people with the first Red Orchestra will get those items.
They are really holding tight on information, even on the press list, hope they are going to throw us a bone soon.
Also, I want my RO1 back with signatures, but apparently they have no time to sign it atm :v:
I might just pre-order to try out the beta and cancel if I don't like it
No harm in doing that actually. I did it with Monday Night combat and Sanctum too. (I actually bought Sanctum during the summer sale when it was cheaper though)
Tripwire is awesome.
Yeah, if you have doubts but want to try RO2, pre-order for the beta. Steam will always refund you if you end up not liking the game.

Exactly. While it isn't a "feature". You are allowed to do so since the Steam TOS says that as long as you request a refund before the full game is unlocked on Steam. You will get a full refund, regardless of the fact that the game has a beta or not.
It's abusing a loophole.
It's abusing a loophole.
It isn't some bannable offense. You still pre-ordered the game. It isn't my fault that 90% of the games today have no demo.
It isn't bannable it is ok.
[editline]4th August 2011[/editline]
There's no law against it its legal and absolutely correct.

It isn't like I've been running around pre-ordering games for their betas. I've done it twice and it only occurred to me that I could just refund it since I didn't like the game.
Stop trying to act as some sort of moral police. You are the last person that should be doing that.
It's abusing a loophole.
How is it abusing anything? It's just like buying a console game and then resell it back to the store.
These Betas are a favor for the supporters that are certain that they want the game as soon as it comes out, if you really gotta try the games by theseawful people who didn't even make a demo for you, torrent it or play it at a freinds house, but don't fucking scam people.
But hey, I am the last person to pitty you, right?

Jsut that the store doesn't want it.
Store doesn't want it? They aren't forced to do it.
I don't see anything wrong with buying a game and then asking for a refund if you don't like it. It's perfect: pre-order the game, try the beta, spend your money the way you'd prefer to spend it.
I think Tripwire would much rather have people who are on the fence in the beta anyway, so they can get more feedback about the game as the finishing stages approach.
So after complaining that you want a real story (lol) with cinematic cut scenes because some how without them you don't feel it's a real campaign, then if RO3 has them it's now CoD? Wtf?
Hahaha, it was a stab at you saying RO3, but looking back at the ratings on my post it seems like you RO players can't take a little joke, good or bad. (bad in my case apparently)
There used to be this great map for RO1 which was a custom Berlin map, would be great if they remade it.
But yes, in all seriousness I wish there were actual cinematics in between maps. Maybe something like the cutscenes in WaW that showed off the history and stats and stuff like that.

Would've been nice. But we all know that RO2 is a multiplayer game at heart. The SP is just a nice bonus if you ask me.
Good to have if your internet ever cuts out or something.
I think it would be cool if you got a projector-style briefing before each battle, similar to WaW, but even more realistic.
I hope they return the old Pavlov map that they had when they were just a mod.
You know the level in Cod1 mp?
if you pre-order the normal version, do you get beta access?
[editline]4th August 2011[/editline]
heeyyyy i own the original RO and i'm only getting 10% off, what gives?
[editline]4th August 2011[/editline]
nevermind, now i'm getting the 20% off suddenly
if you pre-order the normal version, do you get beta access?
Nope, only if you buy the Digital deluxe edition.
Its tempting, but I'll just get the retail for 20 bucks.
And a sexy sexy box.

Pavlov is one of the main maps baby, along with the grain elevator.
