This reminds me of a story I heard once.
An American soldier was in a house during a battle with a German soldier who was shot. The German was on the ground, the American standing. They seemed to be both trying to stop fighting and the American was attempting to aid the German with his wound.
As the German was on the ground, he reached into his pocket. Fearing a gun, the soldier hit him in the face with his rifle butt.
He then looked at the German soldier's hand, and saw a wallet turned to a picture of a wife and kids.
I heard something like that from the 1st World War.
The Russians are retreating from an Austro-Hungarian force, and a wounded Russian gets left behind.
The Russian puts his hands up in surrender, and one of the Austrians approaches him to help. Then, the Russian reaches into his pocket, and the Austrian responds by plunging his bayonet into the Russian's chest. The Russian dies.
The Austrian soldier kneels next to the dead Russian and searches his pocket.
He find's a photograph of a woman and a small boy. The Russian's wife and son.
Reminds me of that one scene from Austin Powers...

Well I finally preordered the game, I hope that the multiplayer doesn't dies in a month and and we up with only 5 servers with people playing on.
Any news about the beta?
Why would this game die in a month? The original RO still has plenty of people playing 5 years after release, and this game has gotten far more media coverage than RO.
There should be no problem with the game remaining active, I've heared that all major RO clans are preparing to move over to RO2 and just keep battling.

that's a really stupid assumption.
To be honest, it happens with a lot of games, but will it happen to RO2? Probably not.
Come on guys, RO2 will not be the next Brink.
Come on guys, RO2 will not be the next Brink.
That's what I'm afraid of.
That's what I'm afraid of.
You're mentally retarded than.
Why would RO2 be the next tf2?
You're mentally retarded than.
Same thing that everybody in the Brink thread said a month before release.
"Oh fuck, it has such an awesome system"
"Wow! Look at how you can customize everything."
"This could introduce something else beside another Modern Warfare 2 shooter.
If people can play RO1 since the Mod days continually till now (which I'm pretty sure is 2003-2011) then I don't think RO2 is going to die in a month with vastly Superior features then RO 1. It's common sense really, if poeple could play for 8 years straight then why would this die in a month? especially with all the new people they are going to be introduced to the game with all it's coverage.
Then you have all the free post developer support, over 10 mods at the moment which span from World War 1 (oh god a WW1 game with RO Mechanics, FUCK YES), Vietnam, the Pacific Theater, and maybe someone might do a Modern Mod also you have like 10 more additional mods including those, then you have a SDK...... plus all the RO clans and veterans playing the game, no way this will die in a month

And the fact that Tripwire hasn't made a shit game (personal opinion) yet. So what makes you think this one is going to suck?
Come on guys, RO2 will not be the next Brink.
Ugh Brink. At least I got a hat out of it.
I just hope this will attract the much bigger crowd and the initial release will not be so damn glitched and shitty.

Look at the gameplay videos. Read the descriptions from the people (all avid fans of RO1) who played it. I can understand your uncertainty, but i have little doubt RO2 will rock my socks
I just hope this will attract the much bigger crowd and the initial release will not be so damn glitched and shitty.
There's bound to be a glitch or two but nothing ridiculous like Brink.
The guy on the /v/ thread said it runs wonderfully on his 400 series Nvidia card at High so.
The cult following with this game is very strong as well, people love the whole 'bro tier' company thing. It gives them reassurance that the game maker listens and loves their community, which is the case for tripwire.

This, they have been doing testing for bugs and glitches for months, Tripwire takes time before they release their games and makes sure they are fine and not rush it out like other companies instead of just pushing it back a bit. Which is probably why they gave the release date so late so they wouldn't have to tell people they had to delay the game or have it filled with bugs and glitches on release.
Also is there any way to link me to this thread on /v/, never browsed their before so I'm completely lost trying to find it.

Also I added you as a friend on steam.
Alright, accepted it
Also if anyone thinks the soundtrack is fucken amazing just like I do, here is a post from the Creative Director:
The ro2 soundtrack is so epic, I listen to it while I animate more times then I can recall. Sam Hulick Composed a true masterpiece, it's one of the best soundtracks ever made! I'm alittle biased but I think everyone will agree when they hear it! You'll be able to get your hands on the soundtrack soon!
So basically FUCK YES, I hope they release it the same time RO2 is released, FUCKEN can't wait to listen to the full thing, especially in game though, it is going to completely change the mood of the game, it is going to be amazing.

I would rather listen to it without playing. I'm a big music guy so I like picking and choosing each individual instrument. Also, the battlefield ambiance is almost like music itself... So eerie... And when you hear the screams of young men...
Super Hyped for this game, I absolutely played the shit out of the first one. Everything in this one is just looking amazing as always.
And when you hear the screams of young men...
Mmm tell me more.
Can't we just open up RO2's folders and extract the music like in any other PC game in existence?
I don't understand the need for a released soundtrack when you literally already have it.

I dont think it could work.
Why not? Worst case scenario we turn down all the volume sliders to 0 and music to 100% and just record it?

I have to say these remind me alot of Call of Duty 2.

Which isn't a bad thing, Call of Duty 2 looks freaking great.

Maybe because it also took place in Stalingrad during the Russian campaign.

I still think Brink is a great game. I don't understand why people bicker so much.
