That would be unrealistic though because America won WW2.
I didn't mean a game where the German won, but a game about WW2 on the German Perspective. Still, like I said, who would make such a game? It would be scrapped early for good reasons.

Didn't CoH have a german perspective?
That would be unrealistic though because America won WW2.
Uh, I'm quite sure the Allies and Soviets won, not America (it's like saying that a single football players of the team won instead of the whole team).
Not really, that engine gets updated all the time, RO2 is based on the september build (2010) of the unreal engine.
Isn't it based on the February build of this year, or am I thinking of something else?
It's nice to see good WW2 games that aren't centralized on the American side.
I wonder if one on the German side would be a good game.........wait no, it would be so badly received it would be scrapped faster than you can say "HEIL".
Now to make one on the French Resistance (not The Saboteur) and one on the Italian battlefields and it would be complete.
Well RO2 does have a single player where you get to (finally) play on the German side and there are 12 mods being made for RO2 so one of them might be something along that as 12 is a lot even if you eliminate the obvious ones that are being/ or going to be made.

No America won WW2 after we took Berlin singlehandedly. I think you should learn history.

Either it's sarcasm or you're trolling.
It's a joke.
It's a joke.
Did you finally go google WW2, and that's why you decided it was a "joke?"
No, America has the highest educational standards in all the world
[sp]That was a joke too[/sp]
It's a joke.
Pretty sure jokes are funny.
I think it's pretty funny how serious everyone is getting.

In Darkest Hour there is actually a custom map with Americans in Berlin.
It's funny how relatively little part USA actually played in the war compared to what idea you generally get from watching movies (myself included). Just check military casualties numbers on wikipedia.
Soviet Union: 8,800,000 to 10,700,000
United States: 416,800

This is the part where I make a joke about American soldiers being invincible supermen dual-wielding Garands, but I don't think this thread is quite ready for it.
Instead, lets talk about how awesome the tanks are going to be in RO2. Can't wait to play as a commander, calling shots for my bro in vent.

Realism isn't always exact course of history, changing history for games is fun, you're boring.

That is quite a sick number :geno:

Exactly, also who was in that the whole two wars? Not for half of one.. anyway, I sitll find it hard to play the first one but i'll be getting the second one most definitely.

Call of Duty 3, the german edition.

Keep in mind, the Soviets used human wave tactics.
1. Send in a large number of guys with basic equipment, forcing the enemy to expend ammo taking them out.
2. Repeat step 1.

Then add the humongous amount that got killed by their own commissars for retreating and shit like that.
That would be unrealistic though because America won WW2.
Haha, I have to admit, I paused for a second and thought "He can't be serious... can he?" But I rated funny anyway.
Yeah I know we have our little battles but I was pretty sure you're smarter than that :P
Then add the humongous amount that got killed by their own commissars for retreating and shit like that.
And if you like, you can count the people Stalin had killed simply because he didn't trust them.

I've stopped bitching about Bad Company 2. I realize theres no real point in going into a games thread just to bitch about it, unless everyone is bitching about something, then you can join the bitch-party.

The only joke here is you. Please refrain from posting, you're giving everyone a bad impression of gold members.
I have seen gold members post far worse things than WW2 satire :colbert:

That was said by German soldiers. One should remember that Soviet had far more soldiers than Germany, so I'm sure they felt swarmed.
Then add the humongous amount that got killed by their own commissars for retreating and shit like that.
Not an humongous amount, it was 2-5 people who had this duty, not like they could stop a whole division from routing. Movies and COD tell otherwise.
New article from Eurogamer: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-29-red-orchestra-2-heroes-of-stalingrad-preview
Nothing really new but it's a really good read and judging by the article and comments it looks like they love it so far and can't wait for it.
Set a date already, My boner won't go down until then.
I absolutely love the first one, getting this the day it comes out. Definitely going to be an improvement in both graphics and gameplay over the first one. It's still terrifying when there's MG fire hitting your position your screen is shaking and blurry like hell along with tank fire and grenades exploding everywhere.
Oh god I was just playing Osfront, tank battles are fucking boss. Cannot wait for the new tank system.
Uh, without America the allies would never have won.
We spearheaded into Italy, not only taking Sicily but Italy with little British help.
We lost the most during D-day, and we still took the beaches.
If the British had commanded the D-day invasion, we would have been forced out of Europe. The British took weeks to take ground that Americans took in days.
Also you brits seem to forget that Market Garden, one of the largest Allied FAILURES came from Montgomery.
Not only this, but if the US, according to you, was so insignificant in WW2, how come we became the world's leading superpower for the rest of the century?
The allies, save for the soviets and the US, pretty much stopped fighting after France. The US and Russia continued to force Germany all the way back to the Elba and finally Berlin.
Not only that but we also fought Japan singlehandedly. Forget Australia they did negligible amounts of help, other than be guides to the rest of the US advance.
This thread is about Red Orchestra 2. Not about how much Americans contributed to WWII. Secondly, claiming achievements that are not your own is a selfish thing to do.
