I don't get why this game is so popular. I tried it back in the '90s and I tried it again recently and I just couldn't get into it.

Basically to fight Giygas you have to use pray for a few times, with the power of family and friendship defeating it. Mother 3 with subtitles almost made me cry, its too fucking sad. Lastly, fuck Pokey.

Other than that, it was a break from the usual rpg formula, where it was swords and magic and nothing different and giygas leaves an impression on people

Definitely my two favorite video game songs ever.

The best feature I loved about the Earthbound series was the individual music for the enemies and bosses. It was a very nice touch.

I love these games. I'm AWFUL at them and don't get far, but I love them. I was a Pigmask for Halloween. I think what scared me more than Giygas, though, was the unused backgrounds in MOTHER 3. Those gave me the chills.

Nintendo Of America should of payed more attention to the MOTHER series. It's their fault for marketing Earthbound with a slogan saying "This game stinks!" What did they expect will happen? The book in the box was badass tho.

No crying until the end. Mother 3 is easily the better of the series, and it's absolutely amazing in terms of writing. I could honestly find nothing wrong with the game, there's a few slow bits but it will never be bad, what a phenominal series

Fantastic games, battle against [sp]Claus[/sp] at the end almost had me in tears in Mother 3 and that's a rare sitation for me. Also I was quite disturbed when Ness and buddies had to transform into robots to go the past, I thought they would never go back home then.
