As I previously stated, I finally got the game to work after re-formatting the hard drives, re-installing windows [I]twice[/I] and whatnot, which confused me as to what caused it. And now the problem is back. :smith:

No need. I found the cause of the issue, it turns out its Kaspersky Anti-virus 2011. The fact its installed is what is causing the game to crash, not to do with blocking the program or anything. Again, [b]FUCK.[/b] I am able to get Kaspersky free forever too, because of an offer.

Probably detecting the rootkit the game uses for anticheat and trying to disable it.

Kaspersky can't be detecting it, when it isn't actually running. So there IS something that is installed that is conflicting with Kaspersky with AVA.

Im still not seeing proof that its a rootkit. Lots of games interfere with antivirus software.
No wait, fuck. I've just realised I have this installed on my mum's PC (which is identical to mine, hardware wise, except she has Vista 32bit whereas I have 7 64bit) which also has kaspersky on it, but it works on that computer just fine.
