Ok the item system in this game is frankly retarded. You have to pay for capsules for weapons you're not even guaranteed (or at all close to likely) to get and apparently when the capsules run dry the weapon is gone forever.
Have you never played any free to play game before? You should be thankful you get as much free content as you do in this game because almost every other one is pure pay to win.
The sounds in this game hurt my ears.
You can't bind jump on the scroll and you HAVE to double-tap W to sprint. The fuck?
Also these 4 player missions, where there are waves of inmates attacking, the fuckers spawn behind your back. :v:
And whats with the escape mission?! It's fucking impossible! :arghfist::saddowns:

It was created to be impossible. You still can complete it with a really good party of really skilled players.
This game has something most F2Ps don't.
Effort.
Warcock has no environmental interactions, the entire world is just one huge fucking static prop. Also, some IG assets look like they were plagiarized from Half-Life 2.
Combat Arms might have environmental interaction, and a responsive world, but the world looks stale (Much like Warcock) as hell, and many things feel half finished. Sure it might have high resolution textures, high polygon characters and run on the same engine as FEAR, but it feels extremely incomplete.
Soldier Front/Special Force Online looks like everything was modeled and textured in 10 minutes. Everything of decent resolution and polygons is a billboard advertising RL items.
Meanwhile, AVA has things they don't.
Proper lighting, ragdolls (unheared of in 99% of Worst Korean FPS games.), decent resolution textures, variety of gamemodes, proper AI, large amount of free items, key binding options.
Also, the controls are a direct copy of CS. In a good way.
Its like COD and CS had a baby, of course with CS having 95% of the dominant genes though.
Why can't I bind sprint to shift?
Why does the sound mess up to the point where I can't even hear my own gun fire?
Why can't I bind sprint to shift?

Dunno, if you spray you can only hear some of the gunshots :v:
Reactor Application has stopped working...every damn time.
[editline]17th June 2011[/editline]
I fixed it! I guess
Picked up an FN TPS off some guy I killed and then got 14 straight kills with it the rest of the game. All one shot kills from some pretty decent ranges so even though I usually play Rifleman I think I might buy that shit even if it does cost about half the money I have.
Less finger bending involved in the double W combo.
Double tapping rather than holding shift leaves the A key open, and is more comfortable than bending your left index finger to hold shift.
Efficiency is why they have that for sprint rather than shift.
[editline]17th June 2011[/editline]
I don't have a problem with the double tap, I could only see a problem with it if you have slow and fat fingers.
If a game has an option for a double tap sprint (like AA3) I always use the double tap option. It works wonders in many ways.
Okay tell me, how the hell is the A key more open if you don't need to use the Shift key? I'd like to see you use a keyboard, it must look fucked up. Shift will always be faster and better, there's not even room for discussion.
I actually really enjoy this game for what it's worth. Unlike other free 2 play shooters, it's barely pay 2 win in the slightest, and for the most part it's "pay to get a small advantage that suits playing style". Every weapon purchasable with real cash is purchasable with ingame currency. Heck, they even had the decency to make it so that the "super beret", bought with cash, has a disadvantage but at the same time a advantage compared to the slightly less expensive (still cash-costing) regular beret.
The capsule weapons are also barely a big deal, the advantages are really small and they're more of trophy weapons than anything, not to mention they're really hard to obtain and not worth going for.

Who the hell holds down shift with their index finger? I hold it down with my pinky. :geno:
You realize this game has an ITEM SHOP right, where you buy guns for permanent.
Yes, but a shitload of weapons aren't in the item shop.
It's really hard to get Euros without the bonuses you get from leveling up :\

Capsule machine is fun though because you still get at least one item and some Euro whether you get the rare weapon or not

Nah you can get quite a bit from the survival missions and you get a ton whenever you reach 1000 points in attack score, tactics score, and etc.
"an iji.com account is required to play this game" what the fuck is this bullshit
That's what made me uninstall it, it looked bad anyway.
I have a steam account, that should be enough.

It takes 2 seconds to register, and you don't even have to verify your account by e-mail.
How lazy can you get.

That's pretty stupid considering it literally takes like 10 seconds with no confirmation emails or anything
:ninja:

Haha that's so stupid..
The weapons thing still pisses me off, that and the fact that most of the rifleman weapons are high-level only unless you pay real money.
You can use ingame money or real money to buy all of the weapons. Even the capsules, you need 50 BP + 1k Euros.
Who the hell holds down shift with their index finger? I hold it down with my pinky. :geno:
I have tried sprinting with my pinky on shift.
It felt awkward.
My pinky is dedicated to the control key for crouching.
You can use ingame money or real money to buy all of the weapons. Even the capsules, you need 50 BP + 1k Euros.
Yeah but he's saying you need real money to buy any weapon you want at early levels. To buy the better weapons with Euros you have to reach a certain level.
Still, doesn't really bother me because I've only seen low levels with the higher up weapons every once in a while.
You can use ingame money or real money to buy all of the weapons. Even the capsules, you need 50 BP + 1k Euros.
The only capsule weapons I see euro options for are the ones that are just normal weapons with flashy paint jobs. Which I could give a fuck less about.
My basic left hand setup on keyboards is:
Middle finger on W
Index on D, ready to hit E
Ring finger on A (Accidentally mis-worded earlier, I meant to say Ring Finger, not left index.)
Ring find poised to also press shift depending on game (I don't use it to sprint, so I can always be able to strafe left.
Pinky on Control
Thumb on space, poised to hit Alt (My walking key)
I think the right hand should be obvious.
EDIT
In some games when possible I map my sprint to pushing down the middle mouse button. I use every mouse button, including the scroll wheel.
In short, my controls are set up so I can do nearly every possible action while still being able to move and shoot with maximum precision.

I just kind of have my pinky straddling both shift and control.

how do you get those? I've only been doing co-op so far
how do you get those? I've only been doing co-op so far
Basically just doing things related to your objective in the competitive modes. Not sure about specifics but I've noticed all mine going up.
how do you get those? I've only been doing co-op so far
They're at the end of certain sections (or waves). I think you have to actually be the one to pick them up for the bonus, even if the counter in the corner says you have more than you've picked up.

Actually those weapons do have increased stats in certain areas
Alright, Facepunch clan is made. Just apply and you'll automatically be added.
All I had to do was install and update their anticheat thing and then was able to jump right in so it must be a problem on your end.

I'm not sure about the other classes but you can get both the M16A2 and the AK47 from the beginning and they're both quite good.
The M4A1 is pretty much one of the best weapons available.
