Am I the only one that read the title and thought 'Ho-kago Tea Time'?

yes
[editline]4th April 2011[/editline]
i don't even know what that means
As I said before but you didn't respond to, can we get an update button? So it will update when I click it like in INVedit. Not sure if its possible but it would be handy rather than downloading a new version every time.
[editline]4th April 2011[/editline]
Would be even more awesome if the icons and such could be taken from a selected texture pack, and not always default.
I had planned to reply to the updating idea, but I guess I forgot while I was adding something else. Sorry about that.
Adding an auto-update feature is something I'd like to do, but I'm not sure how I could implement it, since I don't have a webserver that I could use to check versions with. If you have any suggestions I'm open to ideas.
As for the texture pack thing, that's something I'd like to add, though it might be difficult for certain items, such as those that are taken from pieces of other tiles (e.g. stairs or slabs). It's something I'll be looking in to once I have the time - school is, unfortunately, picking up again.
-part about archlinux-
Never mind. That was a problem with setting counts above a certain value. See the OP.
Brilliant program, this has replaced INVedit for me.
Could you add some sort of online updater so we wouldn't have to manually add items or redownload?[/s]
:ninja:
Also, an idea: Favorites tab?

Like I said, the closest I can't really do that since I don't have a webserver. The next version will have a button that will take you directly to the mediafire download page, if that helps at all. It's just temporary, though.
As for a favorites tab, what do you mean? You can add a tab yourself with items you find you like best, if that's what you're aiming for.
I may be able to get the next update out tonight. It fixes a bug that messes up your level.dat file if you save an item with a count above 127, adds a button that takes you to the latest version, and makes it so that you can't save as a new file unless you have one opened to go off of, since there are parts that aren't included in the editable fields that each file needs.
Also, I adjusted the item loading because I think INVedit saves the tags out of order.
If I can't, it will probably be out tomorrow. For now, just don't try and set anything above 127. That's the problem that the person who was using archlinux found.

That's what I was thinking. Also, something that may be useful is a saving inventory feature, so you can save "snapshots" and restore them to whatever you like, in a kit sort of way, if that is not already implemented.

Like Loleditor's inventory schemes? Yeah, that's something I'm planning on doing. It should be relatively easy to do. I think. :v:
For favorites, that should eventually be doable with the GUI I want to make for adding items and groups. However, it may be a good idea to wait for Notch's modding support before I work on something like that - there may be something he adds that will allow me to grab the list of all the items, which could affect how something of that function works. It'll depend on how things go - if it's a common desire, and Notch is taking too long, I'll add it anyways.
I can also think of some fun options, such as a "randomizer", with check boxes on what you want randomized.
You could choose the variables for the area of randomness (between which x's and z's?) you would be put, or how far away from spawn, if you wanted the chance to spawn in the nether, and if you wanted your inventory or health to be randomized as well within limits.

That would be very interesting, and probably pretty fun to do. Thanks! I'll keep that idea in mind.
Tea Time has been updated; I apologize for the extra day. I added some backend work for saving inventory schemes, as well as the changes I outlined before. Here they are, summarized:
- Fixed a bug with item counts
- Added button link to latest version (check this in the about window)
- Modified data loading
- Modified "save as" availability
- Added some schemes backend work
The download link in the OP still works.
There are a couple things I'd like some input on, if possible. Would it be better to have the download button (while it exists) go directly to the download page, or the page on my blog where the version history and downloads are? Also, as I can't store schemes inside the .jar archive, where should they be stored?
As long as it works and is convenient, I'm down with it.
Should go to a place with all the download history (as you said) in my opinion. Stops linking to a bad update or something by accident (Not sure how it works).
Got my download... again.
One suggestion that I want to give is that INVedit had a manual tick fir an item where you could manually adjust the number of a certain item that you have. I'd much prefer that the. Having a 'fill' button is somewhat restrictive. What if I want only 4 porkchops instead of 64 for example?

That's probably the better idea. I'll change it in the next release.

You've got two options: you can either open the advanced panel (magic menu - toggle advanced editor), select an item, and use the ticks to edit the count/damage, or you can scroll up or down with your mouse while hovered over the item you want to change. Both should work fine.
Just crashed when trying to open a world edited with INVedit previously. http://pastebin.com/jMwGSA75

It looks to me like there must be some kind of problem with the file. The error you're getting means that the level.dat itself isn't written in the correct format, and isn't even supposed to be able to load - does the level in question work in Minecraft?

Yeah, but then as soon as I destroyed a block it locked my computer, so I'm not sure if it actually works...

In that case, I don't think it's a problem with Tea Time. I can take a look at the file if you want, to see if I can figure out what's wrong with it.
Do you want level.dat or the whole save?
Do you want level.dat or the whole save?
Just the level.dat should be all that I need.
Okay. Pm'd.

I updated Tea Time, adding inventory schemes and changing the download link to a page with version history and the most recent version link.
Inventory Schemes are pretty straightforward. There's a new menu item (it looks like a leaf) with three submenus: save, load, and delete. The only menu with an entry at first will be save, which will have a "Save New" entry that lets you save your current inventory. Each scheme is saved to a folder called "TeaSchemes" in the same directory as the .jar file; if the folder doesn't exist it will be created ONLY if you're saving something (so it doesn't pop up if you just want to do some quick editing, etc.) and it will delete itself if you delete the last scheme in the folder through Tea Time. After you save a scheme you can save to it, load it, or delete it.
There shouldn't be any problems, but as usual, please let me know if there are.
Either click the download button in 1.3 (the same link still works at the moment) or go here.
Are you going to be updating for 1.5?
aww, this had potential, why did it fall to the bottom of the list?
Need this to be updated. I still use this. I don't like using mods, and this is perfect.
I stopped work on this when I got overwhelmed with schoolwork; as usual all of my teachers tried to cram for finals in the last few weeks. Tuesday will be my last day this year, so I can get back to being productive.
Anyways, I've got an update coming by tomorrow at the latest. It's almost done, but I need to make sure everything is working properly before I release it. Here are some of the changes:
- Added all the new items
- Updated the sprites for the compass and watch (no longer blank)
- Rearranged the default groups (i.e. I pretty much sorted out that "Special" tab)
- Added a button in the tools menu linking to your MC directory
- Removed the "Hurr this would be a feature but it doesn't work" button
- Item tooltips now include said item's ID
- Added an interface to editing maps (at the moment, their scale, center position, and dimension can be changed)
- Added options for managing precipitation & storms
Looking through the source, it's amazing how much I would change if I were to redo Tea Time. I'm not going to (:v:), but still... a month or two can really make you change your opinions a lot.
Alright, Tea Time 1.5.5 (yeah, I skipped 1.5) has been released.

Awesome work, keep it up! This is probably the most feature-filled inventory editor out there, and it does everything it is supposed to flawlessly.
