Windows 7 is like XP. You don't know if it's as good as windows 98, but all the games are starting to use it, so why not. And then you're pleasantly surprised that it works so well
Windows 7 Works well, Vista didn't, 7 makes up for it, big time
Seriously, if you can't handle moving onto 7, dual boot xp and 7. It's the best option available.

This was my plan, but on using Win7 for a week, I gave up on XP entirely.
It's just that good.
Steam hardware surveys display that about 50% of the market still own DX9 only cards, the rest own DX10+

I do believe your ratios are a tad bit off, should be about 40% on DX9 and 60% on DX10+, and thats if were rounding.
God damn there's so much computer illiteracy in this thread

Except you're both wrong, read the damn survey.
I too had XP for a very long time and didn't change to windows 7 because I thougth it was like vista with added glitter. But after changing to W7 I can say that it isnt that bad, great driver support and updates.
Only thing that bothers me is not supporting fullscreen DOS, I can't play mah really old games.
I wish Microsoft could just disable all windows XP copies, wouldn't that be fun :D
Why would this post get so many agrees? Microsoft disabling windows xp would destroy businesses and cripple home users around the world. If they ever did it, they would disenfranchise much of their user base.
I don't know why there is so much hate towards XP users. XP is still a valid operating system and will run virtually all software available. So you miss out on Shattered Horizon and Just Cause 2. Big deal. Seriously, if there is no pressing need to upgrade, why upgrade?
And before you go "OMG LOL XP FAG LOLOLOL" like I know some of you will, I am running win 7. Win 7 is great and all, but the only reason I own it now is because I got it for $40. At the normal price, I never would have bought it.
I tried snapping windows at school. Sadly, it didn't work. I wish my school would upgrade from XP.

Except nearly every game coming out next year will be dx10+ with no support for dx9.
why doesnt know won just duel boot

And if that does actually happen and those games are good, then you can have reason to upgrade. Until then, I won't shit all over XP users for not wanting to upgrade. They're not missing much.
Not everyone has the hardware to run Win7 and newer games, and by this I mean not everyone has 4gigs of ram and quadcore processors, seriously I have 1,5 Gigs of ram and a singlecore 1.8 Ghz and can run newer games easily, but if I installed 7/Vista, that would ruin everything. 7/Vista are hardware heavy.
