Possibly I am considering it since I own my own dedicated server, a VBulletin 4.0 license and I can get a Vent/Teamspeak server up and running but it's way too much work to start a community up like that. My job as a programmer/journalist take up most of my time, not to mention college.

I could help with that kind of stuff. I'm used to setting up forums, etc...

I went and looked at the forums and it looks as if its actually "Releasing" but still, it appears as if a lot is still un done.

They've pushed the release date back a LOT of times, most of the screenshots on the website were shopped or otherwise fabricated, and the game is very unpolished. It isn't going to be finished for a long time, if at all. I know because I originally preordered it and played in the beta when it came out, very unimpressed.

Game has a good concept and will be quite decent in a year or so with updates and if it isn't dead.

Ever since fallout hit the scene everyone instantly assumes "post-apocalyptic" has to mean nuclear fallout. Well it doesn't. Post-apocalypse could be whatever the writer/creator deems to be an apocalypse.

Is this game actually live? It seems that the website didn't change in 1 year or is the game dead?

It seems like its live but not by much, maybe its because there charging $40 and then $15 a month after. The same as a top rate mmo. If they ran the payment more like wurm, it would have greater intrest, more players and more publicity. but as far as it goes right now your better off playing the free world of wurm.

What happened to this game anyway? I remember a lot of people here (and Wurm players) were following it and it kinda disappeared.

The screenshots were lies, they were almost 100% faked. The game kind of died. They kept pushing the release date further and further back, the dev team lied about progress, that kind of shit. People lost interest. I got a refund.

I knew from the day this thread was created and I first saw it this game would never stay afloat. I mean back then I felt that because they were charging such an amount for such an unpolished product (Much like the other mmos listed in the thread title... hmm).
