I don't hate them because they are good. I never understood the whole thing about this. What is it that makes this level so bad? To me it's one of the most interesting (but I could say every level is great too though).
See: Someone just started the game and they are confused to the point of ragequit. If it wasn't for me beating the level, I would simply ragequit. Then I learned my way around.
i think i can safely say this was one of the first games i got REALLY really excited about in the run up to release back in the day
EDIT
i actually thought the liberty island level was great, and remember it being the demo and it absolutely selling me on the game when i played it.
Unatco?
I lost my save the other week. I was right near the end. But i wasn't sad, it have me another reason to play through it!
Unatco?
No, Savage.
I've never played this game... Wish i had done at one point.

do it man!
its like a quid on ebay (uk) and im sure just as cheap everywhere else!
a true classic
Anyone have some screenshots or a video of the HDTP mod? The newest one, last time i downloaded it, it was still in beta and only a couple of models and textures changed.
Still my favorite game ever.
I actually quite like Invisible war.
Bloody hell, all these years I kept telling myself I wouldn't give in to the Deus Ex reinstall syndrome and then the OP has to go and post the link to that sweet HDTP mod. Now I wants mah shiny new Deus Ex.
I remember my dad bought me this game when I was like 8.
Me being the dumb little kid that I was, I barely understood the training misson (there was some sort of training area, right?) and after getting bored in the first I attacked a bald man and quickly died thanks to it's robot buddy. I promptly uninstalled the game and played Dungeon Keeper.
I still have the CD, I'm installing it right now to see what I've missed all these years.
What a shame this hasn't been posted yet.

My 4th favourite game of all time, I love it. I played it for my first time when I was 10 or something, and I hated it so much (because of the first level), but I gave it a shot again when I was 12, and I managed to beat it, and I even got all 3 endings, I was so proud. Now, 3 years later, it's time again.

Just wondering, what are you 3 favourite games? I mean they must be some hella good games for them to beat Deus Ex.
Ugh. I SPEEL MY DREENK!

id probably go 3rd, after stalker shoc and mass effect, as those two are always the first games i ever install on a new system (whenever i get one) and never NEVER come off
I've never played deus ex. I think I'll start today.
What's the name of the mod that makes Deus Ex do random things? and people say random things
system shock 2 is also worth a go, or thief 1+2, obvious precursors to this but all good rpg based sneaking and whotnot.

Malkavian mod.
I'll take the GEP Gun.
All I have is a GEP Gun.
Ah, Deus Ex. How blurry my memory is of you. I recall playing through it when I was very young and, really, I don't remember much of it. But I got it in one of the complete packs on Steam during the holiday sale. Maybe I'll download it and play it again tomorrow.

Agreed. Vampire(s?): Bloodlines: The Masquerade (Yes I'm almost certain that's the complete title) is also very worth a play. It's riddled with bugs and it doesn't run (at all) on most modern computers so you'll have to have an old rig or bits and pieces from last decade or longer ago to play it properly, but it's by all means worth it. Probably my favourite RPG ever.

I just woke five out of five people in my house from laughing so hard and falling out of my chair.

"desperate"
"desperate"
"desperate"
"old men"
yeah i love that vid
Come to think about it, STALKER actually reminds me quite a bit of Deus Ex, especially with points such as memorable bad voice acting (I SPEELD MY DREENK, OH MY GOD JC A BOMB) and the general fps/rpg hybrid gameplay.

Oh yeah.
I've only played the demo years ago on a demo disk. Coincidentally I just read the Top 100 PC games in the Feb. issue of PC Gamer, and Deus Ex was number one.
When saw it I shit bricks. I saw HL2 at second place and thought "bullshit, what could possibly be-" Then I turned the page.
"Oh, that makes sense."
Seriously, I fucking love Deus Ex. Also, what's wrong with the first mission? Everybody seems to hate it.
I bought the game some years ago.
It ALWAYS crashed at the level with the ship :(
