How many hotbars do you end up with at endgame?
Mobbing is strategy and reaction based, at least on lower levels Not the same old "click something and smash keys until it dies" MMO formula at least
Yeah, But it was pretty hard to survive a wave of Goblin Archers when you didn't have the skills or equipment at the ready. (Back before the massive updates that is, and a little after so aswell) Holy shit, Goblin Archers made me rage.
For now, I'm completing the main quest, then I'm gonna get the awesome looking dual wielding 'final hit' skill.
I'd hold off for quite a while on that if I were you. Even after hitting a total level of 200 I was unable to do it easily at all. The final dungeon to get the skill is insane. Even with a full party of 8 very strong people, many of them having fully ranked trans abilities, it was still difficult to pull off. A lot of those enemies have "heavy stander", making it so they don't get stunned from your attacks sometimes, high HP, high defense, and can put you in "deadly" (a thing to prevent 1-hit kills) in one clean critical hit. Also on the population deal, everyone's usually in Dunbarton in Channel 1. Dunbarton's town square is a lagfest on the weekends.
(Windmill being the worse for a Melee)
... Windmill being the worst? Uhm... I hate to say it, but... Windmill is one of the most versatile skills you can have. It can be used for defense and offense.
It gets scary how quick you can die in this, makes a change from all the other MMO's where you can tank everything like a champ.
That's the charm of Mabinogi. You can become quite powerful, but no matter how strong you become... You're still human. You can't accomplish everything on your own in the game. Which is why Mabinogi has stuck with me for a long time, unlike other MMOs that share my true interest. I like my Sci-Fi, but I love Mabinogi. [editline]10th December 2012[/editline]
-snip-final hit-snip-
Final hit/shot, is an asshole. But saves your ass and looks badass.
Also on the population deal, everyone's usually in Dunbarton in Channel 1.
That's because it's the unofficial shopping channel.
Dunbarton's town square is a lagfest on the weekends.
The whole server is a lagfest on weekends. Steam has added a healthy helping of players. (Though laggy.)

So, I started in a world that starts with a T(too lazy to look back), but it seemed to be the highest populated server. It's kind of empty, actually. Anyone want to befriend me and just show me around or something? I've already explored at least half of the island, and I've gotten plenty of training in skills. I picked up tailoring, but when I made a suit, it was only partially completed- so I tried to complete it further, and it said I needed some kind of silk that I couldn't make.

Alexina is the main server for Facepunch. Not Tarlach. This is because Alexina has the least amount of bugs, and it's the strongest server. Unlike Mari. And Tarlach if I remember correctly, has problems with quests? Not sure. And if you had read the post, all the users registered is on it. Only one registered user on Tarlach.
can you start over without making a new account?
can you start over without making a new account?
No unfortunately. I heard at one point there was a way to switch servers, but I think that was an exclusive event.

A friend of mine who stopped playing long ago had people on Mari, which is why I made people there. Tarlach has allegedly had problems since it started 4 years ago. I think the community back then used to joke how it made sense as the character its named after has problems.
I kinda meant that Alexina is newer then the others.
I had actually meant to say that as well. Sorry if I came off the wrong way.

I played this back in closed beta, still have my old character on Mari. Created a new account and character on alexina. Named him Xelivous.
So what's the best way to make gold at a super low level? Shearing sheep is getting me nowhere, and wolves apparently don't drop anything.
So what's the best way to make gold at a super low level? A stack of 10 is worth 20k+ from other players. Unfortunately then there is the issue of actually selling it when you get it. Otherwise, collect Fomor Scrolls dropped by monsters on the Uladh continent and complete the quests to collect them. Different towns sell collect quests for different monsters. The drop rate on monsters outside of dungeons is bad because a long time ago gold seller bots would hunt wild monsters(typically low level ones) non stop. Mimic Scrolls might be good as they only spawn in dungeons(which don't really have the same drop penalty) and the resulting quest is worth 6k. You can get passes to Ciar Beginner from Ranadal at the school in Tir Chonail. If you have a basic grasp of how the combat system works, its an easy dungeon even at low level. The boss may give you a problem initially though.

So will a guild be made anytime soon on alexina? I haven't played this in years and I could really use some help getting back into this game.

Now that I'm stronger I don't do that as much... :v: I think the total level thing is off... I'm pretty sure I was only 100 something. Basically everyone was trying to keep me alive because I was dying left and right, and it caused them to get killed as well. I felt pretty bad through the whole thing.
I remember having this cool ass griffin mount, i might play just to fly around on it.
Jeez, Alexina Channels 5-7 are really laggy...
So what's the best way to make gold at a super low level? Shearing sheep is getting me nowhere, and wolves apparently don't drop anything.
Commerce. It's very easy to get through to your destination without getting noticed, so the only thing getting you caught is the occasional glitch. Once you get 30k+ in gold, buy a farm at taliteann and raise it. You can take care of the farm, leave and go do something else in the game/ do homework irl and come back every day. You'll make about 200k a week. Once you get some hard cash(like 1-2m), start merchanting. And thats where I can't help any more, basically buy high and sell low. Add me if you're on Alexina. IGN is Drags. Basically know everything about this game. Is the game pay to win - kind of. The subscription isn't worth it unless you have inventory problems imo, you can sell items by making a dungeon party, check for notes every now and then and every 15 minutes click a button to keep advertising what you're selling. The rebirth system is worth it, though I don't reccomend buying the cards weekly as that obviously adds up. def worth it to buy a card every month or so though. the items in the cash shop are inexpensive and are mainly useless except the dyes which go for a decebt amount of cash edit: rip farming is now limited to vip members, so you'll basically have to commerce or try to go into the steadily dying production economy in the game

This was because Gold Seller bots were renting out practically every plot. Beginner Premium does NOT work for it.
coughproudownerofahorsemaskcough I forgot how much fun this game can be when you pull off certain combos on monsters.

[thumb]http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z368/LittleFenrir/mabinogi_2012_12_11_003.jpg[/thumb] Those fucking goblin archers!
I've pretty much stopped doing dungeons altogether and went for Shadow Missions. They're easier in some aspects, and spamming Craig Cow is great if you've just rebirthed.
the combat in this feels so incredibly weird... might be because I'm from EU though, I think the lag messes with it quite a bit.
the combat in this feels so incredibly weird... might be because I'm from EU though, I think the lag messes with it quite a bit.
I find it helpful if you hold ctrl near an enemy and mash left click. I don't trust the game to attack for me automatically.

Ctrl and a number will switch your hotbar to the number you pressed and can really screw you up if you're a ctrl attacker like I am.
