Depends what you're looking for.
If you want incredibly complex (at high levels) gameplay with various builds and what-not, go with WoW.
But if you want a more simple game that doesn't force you to play the same way the entire game, try out Runescape.

This, even though it can be boring as fuck itself
I used to play wow all the time a few years back, never got into runescape though
I really enjoyed Runescape when I was like 13. I got so addicted I had to stop playing it. I wish I remembered my username or password.
Oh wow, I remembered.
just logged into my old-ass runescape account for shits and giggles
turns out i've been a member, i wonder who the hell is paying for that :(
I prefer WoW. I had great fun when I used to play it, and as other people say in this thread, the lore is also pretty good.

Seems people are half-blind on this forum.
I was on Runescape about until they went HD graphics. Now it's all messed up.
Damn, that must have been an alt or something. I remember I was a wizard.
WoW was only good back in Vanilla. Before expansions.
I loved RuneScape, played it really much when I was younger.

if i say "hitler was a pretty cool dude, but that's just my opinion" it's not like people aren't allowed to call me stupid

Well, unless they go berserk with insults, I agree.
If it's a WoW private server then MAYBE otherwise neither.

Morgan Webb had a point in that Red Orchestra review, without Hitler none of the awesome WW2 games we have today would have existed.
So in that sense, he is a pretty cool dude.
Other than that though, total asshole.
It wasn't worth the price though, and if I'm gonna be completely honest I don't think any of the WW2 stuff is awesome, perhaps it's awesome in one way with all the action but when I go deeper, no it's not awesome.

Not saying it was, just saying if it had to happen at least we got SOMETHING good out of the deal.
I've played them both but persoanlly I enjoy Runescape a lot more. It feels a lot more relaxed in the sense that if I don't want to train one skill I can easily just go an start training another.
if I had to pick, I'd chose Runescape
only because I used to play it and I had a blast during that time
Now, WoW may be a big grindfest, but it's a very good game when you have friends to play it with. Even if you don't, it's still fun. Also, I played runescape back in the day, about 5 years ago, it was fine back then. I tried playing a few months ago, but people just beg and spam and the graphics made it not as good as back when I played. Plus, my account somehow got hacked (No i didnt tell anyone my password) so thats how I quit that game. If I had to choose between the two, WoW is the obvious choice.
