they were at EVO 2011, the world's biggest fighting game tournament, everyone there was a fighting game player so they were trying to appeal to that crowd. ("fun random fighters" are generally pretty bad at high levels too. see: smash bros) but don't worry they added some mechanics to help newer players (infinite escape, easy 360's) and you can probably still roll your face across the buttons and have cool things happen!
No I mean, they do that whenever they show the game off, like in one of Peacocks showings they were being interviewed and the guy asked "Hey so who's this character what can she do?" they go into the mechanics again and you can tell the guys confused "Uh well um... I notice she has different swords/objects that's pretty nice?" and wasn't following at all. Also not saying the game is a fun random fighter, I'm saying some people just want to be able to sit down and play it, like people might just want to play a few rounds of MvC3 or SF casually.
sf is far from a casual game, no casual player would be able to withstand THOSE kind of bots, much less a normal sf player
Looks good enough to make me dust off my 360 for a while. I hope it ends up on Steam eventually. [editline]4th August 2011[/editline] Loving the jazzy music direction.
personally i'd prefer it having deep nuanced mechanics rather than flashy dumb stuff designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator (see: ultra combos)
I know, that's fine and I like that I'm saying marketing though should present it as a fighter showing off features, not going into mechanics, and everything on this game is going heavily indepth which people will figure out anyway when it comes out.
Why so many dumbs in the OP post? Anyway, can't wait for this game. Looks like it's going to be a very good fighting game. I really honestly can't wait. Also, this isn't anime. This is more like western-eastern hybrid. If you want anime, play BlazBlue or Touhou or so.
personally i'd prefer it having deep nuanced mechanics rather than flashy dumb stuff designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator (see: ultra combos)
Same, but it seems like they're alienating the player base that wouldn't mind learning those mechanics but are not familiar with them from prior fighting games (e.g. how they're always mentioning Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom when referring to moves).

Yeah, I think right now they want to really reel in the comp folks before focusing on gamers they aren't targeting as strongly.
Oh and if this video doesn't get you hype for skullgirls nothing will
Yeah, I think right now they want to really reel in the comp folks before focusing on gamers they aren't targeting as strongly.
hahahaha fighting games on the pc thats almost as funny as expecting updates for TF2 on the xbox hahahahaha
fuck you this thread ain't dying couple of new character concept pieces here you can see Panzerfaust who is a great big dude with a tank for a fist. on the left is Big Band who is basically a fedora-wearing saxophone. all his weaponry is based around musical instruments. in the middle is this chap: Le Duc a mad scientist who uses bolt guns and electrical clamps and shit. this game is gonna own so hard!!
How could he fire that tank on his wrist? I really want this game now.
Found another character trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bya7JzxfGIo
I really think this game looks dumb. Stupid name, uninteresting characters and too many huge boobs for the sake of huge boobs.

Why are their boobs so large that they've reached the point of being unattractive?
"hey guys i'm not gonna contribute anything useful to the thread so let me just say this game sucks!"
that's just like my opinion, man
