yes, but how can I provide power to both of them? Or: How can I get wires connecting with both of the torches from one side?

[editline]6th August 2011[/editline] complicated version.

what's bad about a repeater?
Thanks so far. But I can't make more then 2 torches on top of eachother switchable, can I?
I want to build a lighthouse, with each glowstone on a sticky piston being expanded and then retracted in a delayed fashion so they loop around the lighthouse in a circle. The only way I know to layer the delay is to go repeater-dust-repeater-dust and have each dust bit of the line branch off to connect to a sticky piston. The problem with this is that it's fucking huge. If I wanted, say, 12 sticky pistons, I'd need a line 24 spaces long at least to compensate for all the repeaters, as well as attempt to rig every individual sticky piston to a dust line without them intersecting. This is essentially impossible. Is there a better way?

Surrounding the cube are glass blocks and opaque blocks (organize them how you like, I'd recommend that you have alternating quarters of the perimeter be opaque but it's up to you). Have the blocks be pushed around the glowstone cube with pistons in a way that is similar to how people do those music box-esq things like the one seen here. I'm unsure if that'd fit in the space you need, but it's worth a shot.

Is there a super specific way to power pistons? I've noticed that occasionally they just flat out don't work when I'm randomly constructing things with them. Are they like noteblocks were you have to have redstone aim directly at them?

Just wondering, could you make a T flip flop with pistons using a similar principle to the piston 4-clock?
Just wondering, could you make a T flip flop with pistons using a similar principle to the piston 4-clock?
Someone already has done that. Go back a few pages, it should be there.
Thanks so far. But I can't make more then 2 torches on top of eachother switchable, can I?
I hate me for doing this, but ... can someone please answer me?
I hate me for doing this, but ... can someone please answer me?
I don't think so. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] That's the answer, not me rejecting answering you. Lol.
I made a 4 bit input parser that activates one of 16 output lines depending on the position of four switches. The problem is that it is 16 stories tall and I feel some of it may be redundant? Is there an easier way to do this? Bear in mind that those pictures do not show it completed. Also it goes down 20 more blocks. That's where the switches are.
I once built a 7-segment display with 4 levers as input. I'll build the parser for you and upload some pictures. I'll thumb the pictures and explain what goes on in each. [t]http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/7238/20110814115727.png[/t] Picture of the the thing. You see the levers, values going from 1, 2, 4 to 8, green being 1, yellow 2, etc. The orange rows are each a value, the white rows are output lines and the pink is a check to see if only the correct levers are activated. [t]http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/4795/20110814115816.png[/t] Each orange row is a equal to a value. The first from the left is 1 (0001), next is 2 (0010), next is 3 (0011). This goes on to 15 (1111). (I forgot 0 (0000)). [t]http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/7519/20110814115836.png[/t] [t]http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/1226/20110814115900.png[/t] When the appropriate levers are activated, the torches under the white wool will not be lit, which will make the output (the torch on the side) lit. [t]http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/9310/20110814120202.png[/t] Here's 9 (1001) built above ground to better understand what the pink wool does. It checks whether or not the other inputs are on, meaning that combinations such as 1101 and 1011 will not activate 1001. (More on this following pictures) [t]http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/8697/20110814120229.png[/t] In this picture, the correct input is given. The torch under the pink wool is off, as ONLY the correct input is given. [t]http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1772/20110814120305lnb.png[/t] Here, all of the inputs are on. Notice the redstone under the orange blocks, the ones in the middle (hint: not under the torches) are raised, so that they activate on any WRONG input. This lights the torch under the pink wool, not outputting true. I hope this helps! It can easily be expanded with more bits, just make the orange rows longer.
I hate me for doing this, but ... can someone please answer me?
If you can accept it in a corner, then you can: [t]http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/6914/20110816214650.png[/t] [t]http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/506/20110816214643.png[/t] Torches behind the marked blocks on second picture. OR: Just came up with this: [t]http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/5769/20110816221830.png[/t] [t]http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/8036/20110816221838.png[/t] How, you ask? It's a stair block. Doesn't transmit power, so the torch doesn't run crazy. [t]http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/3193/20110816221901.png[/t]
