What mod was that? And why is everyone against Complete?
It's the CoD of STALKER. Overrated, and the dev is so pretentious so he calls himself ~artist pavel~, I mean, what the fuck is up with that? Also it is just a mod compilation of OTHER PEOPLES work, who get none of the praise that pavel gets despite pavel doing nothing that an 8 year old couldn't. But if you must play it, AT LEAST PLAY VANILLA FIRST, almost every crappy website says 'complete is a must-have', DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. Seriously though, if you're going to play a mod, play a REAL mod like AMK (or variants of it), LURK, Oblivion Lost, TFW, Redux, SGM, or if you're in the mood for alcohol fueled insanity, try a Russian mod like the Soup or NLC. (btw I don't consider SGM a proper Russian mod because it is suprisingly stable, well translated (comparatively speaking), and actually playable) even though it is clearly a Russian mod. Oh and if you are even more hardcore, you might even be brave enough to explore the russian stalker modding forums and grab the individual mini-mods that make up mods like the soup, and get incredibly advanced AI enhancements and other scripting wizardry. oh and the mod in the video was an old version of LURK
I finally decided to boost the difficulty from STALKER to Master for the first time on CoP. I must say it is not as hard as I expected, even funner like that.
I was just playing SoC and i encountered the thing at the end of the tunnel that screams at you. Just as it screams a giant spider crawls across my screen. I kicked my desk so hard that my shin is bleeding...
He looked me right in the eyes. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/pVy9U.jpg[/thumb]
I hate that. No other game gives me that freaky feeling when a mutant just looks at you directly through a scope/binoculars.

Leave him alone. He obviously needs some time by himself.
I'm kinda OCD about my armor. It gets a scratch on it and I run back to a technician strait away. Uncle Yar is one rich motherfucker because of me.
I'm kinda OCD about my armor. It gets a scratch on it and I run back to a technician strait away. Uncle Yar is one rich motherfucker because of me.
you shouldn't play LURK then
you shouldn't play LURK then
I have, that's probably where the problem started.

The man is a legend, how he does it I do not know. To even have the audacity to say something like that when other mods steal credit for Artist Pavels work, AMK-Team and Beacon are examples of dirty thief's who make graphics packs and over glorify themselves off hard work of our supreme ruler Artist Pavel

I've played SoC vanilla about 2/3 through and loved it, then played LURK 1.1 a little further and loved that too. Then I got into CoP vanilla, played the shit out of that and finally got Pripyat. Unfortunately, my pc fucked itself so hard I decided to reformat and now I'm reinstalling CoP. Sucks, because I finally got kinda far. Well, fuck it, I'm starting over. What mod would you guys suggest for CoP? Apparently you guys all hate Complete, but has anyone played complete for pripyat yet? Also, if there's anything along the lines of LURK's stealthy bits, I'd love that.
played Shoc with my cousin today- killed the entire army base with only a pistol, some well timed running, and a fucktonne of grenades.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1998046 we must convince this man to play the game vanilla first before the stalker complete retards find this thread
Sucks, because I finally got kinda far. Well, fuck it, I'm starting over. What mod would you guys suggest for CoP? Also, if there's anything along the lines of LURK's stealthy bits, I'd love that.
Complete for Pripyat is a compilation of various mods, steals it's graphical effects from Cromm Cruac's Atmosfear series(which was it's highest advertising point), doesn't fix anything(because nobody made a fixup for CoP yet so Pavel can steal it), which was a reason why SoC and CS versions of Complete became well known, and it adds a ton of cheat mods which make the game overall easier. The Complete series in general is very shit and doesn't bring anything revolutionary, but the CoP one was absolutley unnecessary and gave nothing new. Now, regarding new mods... If you feel like the game is too easy on you or if you want a more accurate and realistic presentation of what would making a living in The Zone be like I suggest you get Thorny's Call of Pripyat Redux. It makes the character inventories extremely varied, makes the game challenging, but realistic challening(these guys die in two shots, and so do I!), beefs up the trading system, adds special items, modifies the artifacts, etc. It's awesome for what it gives. Now, there is also another famous mod: Sigerous Mod, that is mostly is known by it's acronym, SGM. It's a very polished Russian mega-mod, made to blend into the Western modding scene of CoP. It adds a lot of new content to keep you interested for a good while. It's not putting an emphasis on realism like Redux does, but if you're bored of CoP and want to see something new in The Zone you should try out SGM. It also comes in two flavours: SGM 1.7 and SGM-Blackbyte. Blackbyte updates the graphics of the mod, making it more pleasing to the eyes, but it's a little more unstable and RAM consuming than the 1.7 version.

It was used for debugging and AI testing.
The cheat mode for CoP was in the game to begin with, he just added a mod that enabled it. It was used for debugging and AI testing.
It was? Huh, didn't knew that. Either way, it's still making the game easier.
Yeah, you'd think it was disabled for a reason :downs:
I'm looking at the features of Redux, and almost everything on the list I swear I thought of while playing Vanilla. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. Also, what graphics overhauls should I use with Redux? EDIT: Oshit the full version comes with AtmosFear? Kickass.
At least the spawn mod is okay and it's good to see it implemented in another mod, but he still stole the credit for it.
peek-a-boo
Hm, never seen this mod before. How is it called? :o
Hm, never seen this mod before. How is it called? :o
TFW. Newest version is 2.9 with patch.
2.91
I'm sad because I just got CoP again (a friend let me borrow his a long time ago, but I never finished it) and I remembered having Atmosfear installed and running fine, but now when I put atmosfear on I get some almost unplayable framerates.
I am playing my first SoC playthrough Vanilla, due to advice from this thread. I think the only think that annoys me (that I'm aware of so far) is not being able to repair stuff without using that glitch. Not that I've had any real need to repair anything yet, but still.
There is a repairing bug?
What the fuck. Clear Sky. Join Duty. Trek over to Dark Vally. Help duty take the two camps by the entrances. Single Handedly clear the swamp. Wait for backup to claim it. 15 minutes spent fighting off hippies later, No backup. Go north and Single handedly clear entire Freedom base. Take last guy out with a shot to the back of the head that makes him flip 360* (worth mentioning.) Duty boss: "WE have taken the freedom base, good work to all involved." Fuckin' commies, tryin' ta' share MY fucking victory. Fuck you. Also, now walking to nearest trader weighed down by the SEVEN TONNE pile of weapons and vodka I looted from my freshly killed foe. I would share them out among my fellow duty, but well, you can either steal my guns, or my credit.
