I'm thinking about reinstalling STALKER with COMPLETE 2009. How much more demanding is it with COMPLETE? Will an Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM and a 5850 be able to play it decently at 1920x1080? Oh, and to which version should I update the game before installing the mod?
1.005. Yes, your setup can play it at full settings no problem.
I hope it's after the zone has expanded ALOT.Like, taken over most of Ukraine and some of Russia.
If the game world expands over the original exclusion Zone a lot I don't know if it feels the same anymore.. I would seriously doubt it's set before the original or Clear Sky because it's set close to the center of the Zone which has been previously inaccessible due to the influence of the Brain Scorcher.
Hell nah, PRIPYATAN is the best mod. It's a realism mod.
Is COMPLETE 1.4.4 the latest release? [editline]16th July 2011[/editline] COMPLETE
Forget complete bro. FORGET §
I would love if you could use your hands to grab enemies, any direction just gives a different result, and let you snap their neck, throw them or suffocate them. Aswell as being able to use your hands as your melee weapon, together with a knife.

Imagine: Bar fights.
And the ability to put off your shirt.
Which mod would you recommend for my second playthrough of SoC? I never really finished it, though, due to my shitty computer. I am looking for some realism to it. [editline]16th July 2011[/editline] or should I just jump to CoP?

Is that some altered AMK? [editline]16th July 2011[/editline] I can't a find a thing about it.
On the other hand I'm relieved that we won't have a crappy protagonist but it'll feel kind of weird starting the game as perhaps the most legendary Stalker in the Zone if the game starts you in the shallow end of the children't swimming pool difficulty-wise. Hopefully this would mean that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 would be difficulty-wise aimed for people who have played all three games and not "hurrhurr,we want S2 to be the best point for new players to jump into the series" so that the difficulty would correspond to your status as a veteran Stalker who has seen almost everything in the Zone.
Death during the intro. As far as I can tell, it's a better optimised, less BS-laden version with better translations.
Oh, cheers.

[sp]You meet Strelok at the end of CoP and nobody, even your character and his companions who have previous knowledge of the zone, recognises him. He also becomes the research director of the zone research institute, assuming that actually occurs canonically, so maybe he isn't seen in the zone very much and thus becomes a sort of myth, like the wish granter. Some choose to believe he is the guy who shut down the brain scorcher, others think it ran out of power or something. I reckon the game may be about his inner turmoil over whether he should have destroyed the c-consciousness or not.[/sp]
I always found it weird that no-one actually [sp]recognized Marked One as Strelok[/sp] in SoC. They all knew his new name but didn't recognise him?
I always found it weird that no-one actually [sp]recognized Marked One as Strelok[/sp] in SoC. They all knew his new name but didn't recognise him?
Well yes that's strange... but maybe most of them just don't give a **** :D

Wasn't his face altered after he comes back from the center to see Doc?
Was it? :/
Forgive me, but it was the only one I could find related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbQ8nTW3NSc
Looks the same before and after SoC to me, I think.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Doc gives him plastic surgery after a Psuedodog attack or something. I remember a cut-scene where he walks in all messed up and shit.
I'm pretty new to the game, and I'm currently in some weird underground bunker filled with bandits and green acid. Maybe an hour or two into the first game. I saw something that looked like water, moving toward me and just started shooting randomly. Then when it came close, I saw it was some kind of monster. I literally jumped, got extremely scared. I killed it, but it got me down to about 1/4 of my life. It had some really creepy tentacles out of the mouth and it was naked. It looked like a huge man, with some kind of blackish skin. What the christ IS that? Is it supposed to appear in your face? It also had blood all over it. Exited the game right there.
Why the hell would you put music on that? But yea, I'm pretty sure Strelok has bandages on his face as if he's had surgery on it.
ATPs > Reloaded textures (if Reloaded doesn't in fact use the ATPs)
Indeed, Reloaded use the ATPs and so do i ( structure & nature 2.0 ), but i was thinking about the weapons textures and such, absent from ATPs. Combine the two = awesome.

Just try to keep moving around it.

Truly a fearsome denizen of the Zone, they're invisible until they begin their attack. Slay them or have your blood sucked clean from your veins. /Stalkan'Attenborough.

Dammit :( Any other underground horrors I should be aware of? Haven't encountered anything more than that bloodsucker thing, except bandits. Thanks for the help, both cheese and thorny though.

Someone outlined the main points of that Russian interview from last page or whatever: there will be 1 big location, 10% of the game will be grabbed from previous parts. The game itself will be close to the SHOC. there will be no tv show until a big expencive movie is released. Strelok will be the main hero. There wont be a beta test. There will be online games from GSC. Grigorivich likes Freedom more than Duty.
