Hey guys. I'm thinking about getting Clear Sky. Is it any good?
Imo, yes
So i just started playing Call of Pripyat today, ran into my first bloodsucker. I crapped my self and poured half my ammo into it. Any good ways to kill them without nearly dying?
Hey guys. I'm thinking about getting Clear Sky. Is it any good?
It's an important part of Stalkerverse and if you liked firefights with human enemies in S.T.A.L.K.E.R you'll definitely like it. Also,it's the hardest game of the series so don't be immediately put off by the initial difficulty. Alternatively, you could enter a building, point your gun at the doorway and fire when you hear it coming near you.

Whats it like on the exploration side? is it like Pripyat where its big and open, or is it like Chernobyl where its smaller areas?
[sp]Joining puts you in a tube and connects your brain to them. Saying no sends you to the back of the CNPP and you have to fight through some more Monolith before you get to the true ending.[/sp]
[sp]by true ending do you mean getting to the wishgranter? because i said no and my only mission is to "Find Strelok" even though i already know im strelok[/sp]
[sp]by true ending do you mean getting to the wishgranter? because i said no and my only mission is to "Find Strelok" even though i already know im strelok[/sp]
[sp]Wish granter endings are the false endings. Connecting to the CC or refusing are the true endings, but refusing is canon and is the best one imo.[/sp]
[sp]by true ending do you mean getting to the wishgranter? because i said no and my only mission is to "Find Strelok" even though i already know im strelok[/sp]
[sp]Well true/cannon ending as in it's the one followed on from in CoP. It's not going to the Wishgranter and by talking to the C-Con guy you've already gone past the Wish granter. You'll know it when you get to it, best ending.[/sp]
Alright, thanks. Whats it like on the exploration side? is it like Pripyat where its big and open, or is it like Chernobyl where its smaller areas?
It's basically like SoC, but with some new levels, others are redone a bit, and a couple removed.

That is only in Clear Sky.
I'm pretty sure bloodsuckers can't be killed when they are invisible.
I've always been able to. You might be thinking of the scripted scene ones, then again I haven't seen a bloodsucker in a while due to my buggering around in Zaton trying to scrounge decent artefacts out of the ground.
I just crashed for the first time. and im near the end :v:
Scar's disapproving glare profile shot pretty much sums him up. They're all badass but if it's a competition then Scar<Strelok<Degtyarev. Strelok has the skill and all that but he is an amnesiac just fighting through because he doesn't know what else to do. Degtyarev has less opportunity than Strelok but goes about it very nicely and with the I-got-this-shit attitude of Spetsnaz so he's probably better.
I feel like Scar is less of a badass. Sure, he's a (evidently) very talented mercenary, but he doesn't go through a battalion of well armed and armoured monolith with just a STALKER suit and an AKS-74U. Degtyarev looks/feels the most badass in my opinion, but actions speak louder than appearances, so I think the cake has to go to Strelok. He was also the first STALKER (pre-Amnesia) to figure out a way to the center (as far as anyone remembers that is; Guide might have found a way through and just never told anybody) so that also makes him rather clever.
Yay I'm done!(with SoC) Should i play CS next or CoP? I've started CS but its super hard.
It is up to you really. The only problem with CS is that it is super boring when it comes to faction warfare.
Someone should ask the STALKER 2 devs if they're going to have NPCs that use Artifacts randomly, so you'd find a random bandit or something with a raised bulletproof cap because he found a Jellyfish, or someone who could sprint everywhere and be really hard to hit. It would be awesome if that happened just once in a while, but not as a common incident. Oh, and don't even get me STARTED on FUCKING CLEAR SKY JESUS CHRIST I HATE THAT GAME WITH A PASSION
Hey, I was wondering can anyone help me... I downloaded STALKER a while back from GamesForwindows (Smoke crack nigga!) and I wanna' put in the Complete 2009 mod... My only problem, I literally can't find the program files for it; I shit you not, their nowhere to be seen not even in the shortcut path it gives me. I just wanna' make a backup then buy it on steam and delete every trace of its existence from my PC along with the gamesforwindows launcher =p
We could either have another three-pages-long explanation to why you shouldn't use any mods on your first playthrough, or you could just say "ok, I'll try it vanilla first". You decide.
Stalker story https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CHLzj75sI-assC20C1yPNaxYHKK1fZhdxLl4mguwDsg/edit?hl=en_US
Yea, sorry I took a long-ass time updating this thing Here are two raw paragraphs As always, CC is always welcome The storm ripped the sky apart. It was no wonder the Zone lay barren. Without heat, without natural life, the Zone is all but it’s own. “Dmitrii, wake up, I think the storm died out.” Mikhail could see that the burns were taking a toll on Dmitrii. “Chto za huy? That was the biggest emission I’ve ever seen, fuck man, we need to get back to camp.”, “What about the medical supplies? There might be something there to ease the pain.” Even if he was too ambitious to be a good scavenger, the least Dmitrii could be thankful for was Mikhail’s lucid, logical thinking. “Keep your light off, kid, I hear tales from the others back at camp that these cave systems belong to the snorks.”, “What are snorks?”, “Believe me, you’re better off not knowing.” Dmitrii’s left leg was swollen twice it’s normal size and his right hand wasn’t in any condition of use. They ventured through the dark caves, careful not to make much noise. “Mikhail, where are we going? We’ve gone upward, downward, every which-ward, where are we going? I don’t think I can go any farther!” It was true, Dmitrii’s leg wasn’t in any condition for movement. It would take a miracle only the Zone could offer to get him walking after this.
Doc and Guide definitely need to come back, they didn't get much love in CoP. Guide was barely mentioned as escorting the Military, and Doc wasn't even mentioned. Also, the Pseudodog needs to be there too.
Spent an evening destroying Old Riga with my friends, and then, while going back home, started shouting things about Manchester. Stalkers, what's up?
Honestly I didnt think clear sky was bad as people say. Its just the shitty implementation of the factionwar system that I hate. if youve played it default you'll know what I mean: HEY THE BANDITS POPPED OUT OF FUCKING KNOWWHERE AND RECLAIMED THE GARBAGE HAVE FUN KILLING THEM ALL AGAIN.
That except with Freedom. I could never get Duty to hold the base without some underground Freedom base sending out more troops.
Clear Sky wasn't that bad. Christ. It had the best vanilla atmosphere IMO, but it was the worst gameplay wise. (Which everyone knows, the best possible stalker experience is SoC with AMK and Complete 2009 merge.)
What's with all the hate for Complete 2009?
In my opinion, no one should do vanillia SoC first, Oblivion Lost made the game so much better and it lost no feel to it at all.
Don't even bother with youtubers :v:
Well but there are other youtubers, who love stalker, not just play it for once (like that guy I was telling about)... Check out http://www.youtube.com/user/metro20339801, he does have a lots of videos of NPC logic, which he makes himself [editline]17th July 2011[/editline]
In my opinion, no one should do vanillia SoC first, Oblivion Lost made the game so much better and it lost no feel to it at all.
Hate that mod too :D What's so great about it?
In my opinion, no one should do vanillia SoC first, Oblivion Lost made the game so much better and it lost no feel to it at all.
You don't even know what you are talking about.
What's with all the hate for Complete 2009?
The reasons to not play complete are following: It makes the game easier. It's unoptimised. It's not vanilla and as such new players shouldn't play it. It changes much too little to be worth playing for a veteran. It's a bunch of small mods thrown into a compilation, with pretty much no credit to the original authors. It doesn't add anything compared to mods like AMK or LURK, just removes the vanilla feel and improves the graphics. ~Artist~ Pavel, is a pretentious douchebag. It gets way too much press for being not much more than a compilation of graphic mods and a few gameplay changes. There are some really good modders out there, making really complex and balanced mods which adds lots of features, many starting from scratch, or at least acknowledging the giants upon which shoulders they stand. What kind of press do these guys get? NONE. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] What have I forgot?
