It's almost unbelievable how much better everything is with the Russian audio. Even the intro video sounds like a opening of a Saturday morning cartoon in english but yesterday I heard it in russian for the first time and it almost sent chills down my spine. The russian VAs capture the Stalker feel [I]perfectly[/I] and you get best of both worlds with the subtitles so you understand what they are saying as well.

I believe at least some of it is filled in by the author(mainly some of the "pain" sounds during the "sex" scene) but most of it is genuine S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

How do you guys manage to get Stalker to be so creepy and atmospheric? I'd love to play the same Stalker you guys are. Is the mods that you install? Because vanilla stalker for me is more like "fuck I need ammo ok got that fuck why is this gun so inaccurate fuck why does it take 2 bullets to kill me and 20 to kill him"

Or is it the playstyle? Someone please clue me in because it seems like it's got potential to be pretty atmospheric.

AMK/Redux is the best. The enemies take 2-3 bullets, and so you do.

I wish they'd spent more time making the animations better. Like when you go down into the bloodsucker lair with Grouse, the animation of him going down the elevator is pretty stiff.

The bad voice acting and how it's not even synced doesn't help either.

Dying in a few bullets, pretty realistic. Enemies that don't die unless I unload two magazines of 9mm rounds into them, that's just frustrating. I don't care if the mutants take forever to kill but it bothers me that ordinary men never die.

Doesn't help that the starting pistol is about as accurate as marking one pellet from a round of buckshot and trying to hit a target with that one particular pellet.
