Does SGM add a fair bit of new weapons? I might copy my SoC install and run that and swap back and forth between an AMK install and an SGM install, but I love mods that add guns.
SGM is for COP
SGM is for COP
I have CoP, doesn't matter to me. Although I did fuck up that one.
I played SGM for 10 minutes now and I haven't seen one new weapon :colbert:
There's a new over and under shotgun that seems kinda common, and I've found a Mosin Nagant, but apart from that I haven't seen any new weapons. Perhaps I should turn on alpha squads. Also artifacts are incredibly powerful in SGM. Does anyone know why?
Also artifacts are incredibly powerful in SGM. Does anyone know why?
Most of the powerful ones are either very rare or found in hidden stashes, like Vasilik, that has around 0.1% of a chance to spawn in an anomaly, but it can be found in a stash in Yanov. Making regular artifacts more powerful requires a lot of money for the alteration, though.
Is there anyone who fixes stuff in SoC? There is "Screw" in freedom faction but he doesnt do anything. Oh, and what suits are better than SEVA armored suit? The one I bought from Sacharov is almost broken. I heard that with exoskeleton you can't run.
Is there anyone who fixes stuff in SoC? There is "Screw" in freedom faction but he doesnt do anything.
The only way to repair items in vanilla SoC is to find 4 or 5 of the same artifact, such as a battery that offers 30% electric resistance, then jump in an electro anomaly or source of the damage you resist. That only works for suits though. It's kind of cool that you can get a set up that will allow you to jump from a great height and actually gain health and have your suit repaired.

No big deal. Still don't really catch that. All anomalies repair stuff but damage you in the process? Explain more.
Anomalies all do damage. Pellicle and Battery Artifacts can give 30% protection against electrical, fire and chemical damage. By equipping four or five artifacts of any one protection type you can boost your resistance to >100%, meaning that chemical, electrical and fire damage will restore health and slowly repair your armour. Note that the resistance from your suit does not count towards the resistance value needed to repair suits, it must all be from artifacts.
SEVA suit has high anomaly protection so thats gonna be easy. No big deal. Still don't really catch that. All anomalies repair stuff but damage you in the process? Explain more.
Normally anomalies apply damage to your character + your suit. With >100% protection the same damage turns "negative", simply speaking. So you'll get healed/repaired by the same amount that you'd otherwise get damaged. This is simply a programming glitch/oversight.
Suit protection and artifact protection are applied one after the other though, you have to have over 100% from one or the other for it to work.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R SHoC and CS are on sale for $5 on D2D: http://www.direct2drive.com/promos/summer-sale/
Hello, I got another batch of adventure this morning! http://steamcommunity.com/id/Afnopo/screenshot/542900969367595619/?tab=public Also this is my first time playing CoP, so this is kinda like a blind photography adventure let's play'ish type thing.
Does the freedom exoskeleton upgrades are the same as the regular one?
Finally got CoP today. Been playing for quite a while. Although, I made an order for a pistol from Nimble, went out artifact hunting for a while, came back and slept, it's been well over 24 hours so I went to check in and see if my weapon was available. And Nimble's disappeared. Any idea where he is/why he's missing?
Help. Think of counter-counter-arguements for me.
Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm Don't get complete. Ever. The reasons to not play complete are following: It makes the game easier. Nope it doesn't. Unless you count bugs that crash the game as difficulty. Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm It's unoptimised. Yet again, this is a lie. My game runs as smooth as it did when the game was vanilla only with less bugs Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm It's not vanilla and as such new players shouldn't play it. It is very much original to vanilla. It only polishes the game and adds a few more things(Sleeping bags) Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm It changes much too little to be worth playing for a veteran. You didn't read the bug fixes and the AI tweaks did you? Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm It's a bunch of small mods thrown into a compilation, with pretty much no credit to the original authors. I don't see how that affects the gameplay in anyway. I am pretty sure he gave a few people credit but I never read credits. Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm It doesn't add anything compared to mods like AMK or LURK, just removes the vanilla feel and improves the graphics. Yet again you are wrong. Seems like someone is being butthurt or is just talking out of his ass Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm ~Artist~ Pavel, is a pretentious douchebag. Irrelevant Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm It gets way too much press for being not much more than a compilation of graphic mods and a few gameplay changes. Again, irrelevant Quote from: Cheese on Today at 05:54:57 pm There are some really good modders out there, making really complex and balanced mods which adds lots of features, many starting from scratch, or at least acknowledging the giants upon which shoulders they stand. What kind of press do these guys get? NONE. Care to list some of them? Both LURK and AMK change the game drastically to be anything near the vanilla game and Oblivion lost feels like a mess.

Help. Think of counter-counter-arguements for me.
Sounds like you were just copying arguments from this thread to the letter
Without actually being able to back them up.
True. I shouldn't post when tired.
Help. Think of counter-counter-arguements for me.
"Don't get complete ever" is being a bit dumb, if he was using it on his first play through telling him no mods at all would make sense but you're sounding like a bandwagoner.
I'm near the Brain scorcher. Weird bloodsucker ghosts appear. Brain Scorcher mind games? And fuck, no more Vintar BC ammo.
Help. Think of counter-counter-arguements for me.
Honestly I think that Complete-bashing is dumb. If you just change the ballistics Complete is a solid mod compared to most of the shit that's out there. Yeah, the author advertising his mod as if it was the return of christ is annoying, and barely giving other users credit is bad, and receiving media attention for far less work than other modders put into their superior total conversions is unfair, but it changes fuck-all about the caliber of the mod. I actually agree, I think aching anus caused by (righteous) jealousy is the main reason for you haters to rack down on Complete. There's ofcourse a lot of bullshit in it too, such as being advertised as a good mod to install on a first play-through (no mod is).

I didn't want to write "butthurt-ness" v:v:v
True. I shouldn't post when tired.
"Tired" is the worst excuse ever
Complete is overpraised and makes those who use it as a first play through unappreciative of other mods which have been developed, and have a lot more content. Anyone who suggests [del]Complete[/del] ANY MOD as a first play though should be tattooed with the word "Tool" on their forehead.

You are correct on that.
