Might be due to their unblemished looks. They all look like "elemental" heroes and that's it, which on the background of plenthora of unique characters of Dota does seem bland-ish.
You just could call them "Earth-dude" and "Fire-dude"and pretty much be accurate.
And I think Storm is just nostalgia thing. He looks in-line with his new siblings, so him being non-generic is due to us being used to his character. Had he different voice now I doubt you'd think differently about him compared to new guys.
Which I might add, is worrying, as those spirits are great addition in terms of design, espcially character-wise and their looks should stand out as "generic" I believe as they are, well, elemental spirits, born of "nature" of the Dota's universe, however unlike Fundamentals they are not universal, just local.

Why do ember player make Battlefury considering that xin is not a ricer and 30% shit tier aoe benefits his sleight of fist rather poorly
Wouldn't making a desolator better as this would be a mass guaranteed armor debuff to the enemy team in a fight.
That said he has a shit mana pool and starting armor that makes him really fucking trivial in lane it's pretty annoying.
I am more intrested into the new Holdout files.
Custom items? Hell yeah. Maybe it is like a preview of what you can do with modding tools on dota 2?

Lets assume he [b]somehow[/b] gets 3 Battle Furies by Level 16, and [b]only[/b] those items, and there are 5 heroes bunched up together. His damage is 278.
(120 + 278) + 5 * (1.05 * (120 + 278)) = 2488 Total Damage
All in literally a second, and then you can use it again, 5 seconds later.
Of course, there are better options than 3 Battle Furies, IMO.

35%* my mistake, but you're comparing a single desolator to 3 battlefuries.
Do I even have to start on why this is not convincing.
And yes, this is providing that they are grouped up, which the enemy will make sure that it doesn't happen. And since in pubs people don't synergize with their picks i doupt i'll get a seer or magnus every game.
Desolator apply -7 armor debuff to EVERY target for 15 seconds, therefore you can apply it indefinitely as sleight of fist has a lower CD. Though it is a poor first item, it seems like a way better choice of HUEHEUEHU LET'S STACK BFs
Only thing that the battlefury wins heavily over desolator is the mana regen, but I don't think it's worth investing in a incompletely different item just for that. I'm fairly sure it's possible to create an item build-up to a deso rather than a BF rush
I like battlefury -> daedalus, personally.

Played a game today with that and the RNG gods smiled on me and I crit 4 times in one Sleight of fist.
Valve's 3 battlefury thing has the 2 extra battlefuries in "Situational" at the bottom of a list of actual situational items.
