obsidian conflict is full of weaboo furry faggots
obsidian conflict is full of weaboo furry faggots
True
Doubt it's going to be.
If in the FAQ it says
"When will [mod name] be released?" and the answer is:
"When it's done."
That means it won't come out.

Nightmare House 2 is the only exception.
What about that set of five, "episode three" map pack someone released, and did not even fix the purple sprites, or script any npc dialogue, does that even count on this list?

to make matters worse,

and it seems that most of the videos shot from that map pack have been \ ;

The only good thing about that mod was one of the concept art pics.

And it had a really shitty color correction, if you turned it off, the maps looked great.

oh, and dissolution
No. Dissolution wasn't a terrible mod. It presented its story and world pretty well, but the visuals didn't quite match up to it.

It wasn't that great.
Strider Mountain

It wasn't terrible either.

Wat. Is this why the fanbase is so small? Just start your own private server. Obsidian conflict is the single most amazing mod i've ever seen. The devs for it just seem to produce gold time after time. One of the BEST hl2 mods.
OC is a pretty good example of how a shit community can ruin an otherwise really good game or mod in the eyes of a lot of people. OC is focused on group co-op, which means that the best option by far is to get a few other friends to join and play with you. Public gaming in co-op focused games is never a good idea, especially with Steam games and mods.
As for a bad mod, I'd say 1187 like a lot of people in this thread. It's just kind of difficult to tell what kind of terrible it is. Whenever it starts to seem just outright funny-terrible with silly shit like having what is essentially a butter knife as a melee weapon and being able to kill Gman in one of his completely pointless cameos (Although I don't actually know if he has more than one), it suddenly becomes more of a sad kind of terrible when you start to realize that they really want it to be a good mod. They had a bunch of decent ideas that just ended up being half-baked. They wanted it to be like an expansion pack in the same vein as Opposing Force or something, but just failed terribly.
I mean, they even said "KSSHT" at the beginning and ending of every line for the enemy soldiers instead of taking two whole minutes of time looking up the actual sound effects. How the hell do you even do that unirionically.

I was excited about 1187, then it came out and I had to deal with nonaccurate weapons with nonworking ironsights, buggy enemies, lots of backtracking, and terrible melee weapons that somehow had worse hit detection than TF2.
Don't even get me started on how annoying the companion character was.
FF cinematic mod wasn't bad when it was first released, but then he kept making higher and higher res skins that just made everything ugly.
The only one I would reccomend is the Lite version which just ups the enviroment textures up instead and leaves the NPCs alone.

No, the creators are that.
Not the player base, the player base is random as all hell.

It just really pisses me off that Obsidian Conflict isn't one of the more popular mods out there. With the kind of awesome shit they are pulling now, I can't imagine what people would come up with if they JUST had a larger fanbase. In my opinion it's the lack of publicity that killed it, and I suggest that everyone give it at least a look. I never would have thought that it would be anywhere near this thread. Like imagine if CS:S or DOD suffered from the same deal. Just seems like a total waste of good modding. The biggest crime that OC committed to anyone was just not having enough people pick it up.
I'm gonna say fakefactory by the way. It's the cheesiest mod i've ever laid eyes upon. Good for laughs though.
Anything by Fakefactory - Ugly stuff made (or stolen) by a big baby drama queen
Half-Life 2: Substance - A greatly offensive abuse of npc_create
Smashball - Ultra-hyped, poorly delivered, and swiftly abandoned
Zombie Master: Black Edition - Made by one man with an unhealthy obsession with dev textures and a longstanding vendetta against the ZM devs and community
Oh god, ZM:BE
where the creator hated baricading, but in the end it was only because he can't crouch jump :v:
JBMod.

I don't see your shitty mod having a leaf blower, son.
Oh god, ZM:BE

How can you not be able to crouch-jump.
It's probably the easiest "trick" you can do in Source games, it takes like, five minutes to get the hang of. Then again, this is the same person who probably masturbates to dev textures for all the times he uses them in his completely nonsensical maps
Eternal Silence would be a really fun mod if it DECIDED TO LOAD 3/4 OF THE TIME YOU TRY TO PLAY IT.

that looks quite nice actually, reminds me works of bethesda, full of bugs, shitty texture stuff... result could be quite impressing if he fixes it...

quite a big one if I remember correctly

If I remember properly from my time playing it,most of the player base is either japanese, russian or weeaboo.Neither of them were really very fun to play with.

Weather you like it or not, all multiplayer games are like that.
