Honestly the only thing that really makes me hate the devs themselves is this scene

I didn't care about capture the babe it's a dumb video game thing but this... this is just kind of fucked up and Duke's monotone voice actually comes off as far to :smug: , hell him cracking a joke about [sp]the wholesome twins getting raped and messed up[/sp] is just all sorts of disgusting and I can't believe they gave this a green light to go. [sp]The entire Hive as a whole once you get far enough for the girls to show up in general was just really awfully pulled off, hearing "Who slipped us a roofie? Oh I can feel the babies kicking!" just disgusted me for all the wrong reasons[/sp]
Is anyone actually okay with this?
I'd like a honest discussion on it not just hurr sift whines alot.
I know but the developers had enough time and material to make something nice. They had quite a bunch of years anyhow. Sorry but i found it disappointing.
Blame 3D Realms for that then. I think George Broussard is an incompetent developer who doesn't know how to run a game company. Even in an interview, George Broussard mentions that part of the reason DNF was delayed a lot because of "Too much World of Warcraft." He and the employees are incompetent developers who don't seem to know how to time manage.
Gearbox only finished up what 3D Realms had as their finally build in the last seven months. Maybe something extraordinary could have been made if Gearbox restarted the game for a fifth time. Don't get me wrong, Borderlands was fucking awful, but they made great linear SP games like Opposing Force, Blue Shift, and the Brothers in Arms series (Don't mention Furious 4 please). But then again, DNF would have to be delayed for another 2-3 years.

Maybe I've just been desensitized to hell and back but that's exactly what I'm thinking.
i.e. hurr sift whines a lot.

This kind of stuff was implied in Duke 3D to a small extent (those little mucus monsters that latch to your face have the same color and kind of texture as those green things you find the babes on), and although the joke was really unfitting and rape is wrong and all, it's not that bad. I mean, look at Alien, which this kind of took inspiration from.

Thing is aliens went after guys as well, if there was a annoying EDF guy there it would have a chance of being kind of funny but [sp]walking through hallways with crying women saying they're sorry about being raped alien or not[/sp] is just kind of sickening.

Didn't really like the hive, got lost a few times and the girls wailing was worrying me because I like to play my games with sound at full volume, I also still live at home with my parents.
Thought I was about to get accused of watching some weird porno
Well since it is universally agreed that the endgame was crap, what do you think would have been the best Duke Nukem ending? I personally would have liked it if after [sp]destroying the dam[/sp] if the General Graves came and thanked you for a job well done. However he tells you that Washington DC is under siege by the remaining alien forces and are trying to kill the President. He leads you into a airplane which will take you on the extremely long trip to DC. Duke falls asleep to the sound of jazz music and dreams about something. Several hours later, we wakes up and the airplane lands at the Pentagon's airstrip will stuff is blowing up everywhere. Blah blah exploring DC and blowing stuff up blah blah blah Duke makes a joke about the Washington Monument being shaped like something blah blah blah Duke blows it up blah blah blah Duke reaches the White House. The White House is being defended by the EDF which refuses to allow Duke to enter. Duke gets mad and shoots his way through the EDF. Duke fights his way through the White House which is not only full of EDF but also Secret Service pigs and other aliens. Finally Duke blows his way into the Oval Office and confronts the President. Duke using his keen senses discover that the President is actually a large puppet used by a giant alien that is actually behind the invasion. Duke follows the tentacles from the alien until he reaches the war room. He finds the alien king/queen/whatever and kills it in true duke fashion. Then duke says something clever. The End.

Rambling is fun.
The bit where you see the president, yeah I wanted to punch him in the face like you could with that guy at the back of the tv show set
After looking at those Duke action figures at Duke Burger, I thought of something that might be a cool gameplay element and since Duke Nukem Forever is its own game, I think it would fit pretty well. What if there were Duke-bots, toy robot Duke Nukems that you could control. They would go where you commanded them to go and help defeat enemies.
Make a mod where you can piss on enemies.

Hey look an IGN review that everyone will care about and agree with.

Hah. Someone posted this on SA and everyone's just kind of agreeing halfheartedly but quickly desolving back to talking about the Hive.
And to which, as someone who actually played it without being use to taking bribes or having high expectations. Granted, PC version.
Presentation: 8.5
It's classic Duke. The one-liners, the babes-first attitude and the lack of any morals not relating to saving babes or being awesome. Some of the lines get re-used a bit too much, but it's still enjoyable.
Graphics: 7
They're aged, no doubt. Graphics don't make a game however, and save some final romps through slightly more bland areas, it can be colorful and interesting at places. The minor details relating to packaging and companies are the nice cream topping.
Sound: 8
The quality of it isn't amazing, I mean they are using MP3s as a way to store audio. On the up-side, the guns are nice. The devastator really falls flat on umph, however, but this is made up for by some of the nice musical ques and throw-backs to Duke 3D. Sadly, the battle-finish que is far overused, even if being a mechanic to tell you that combat is over.
Gameplay: 7.5
The shooting is the low-point. I don't know what the fuck IGN was thinking. The interactivity on the other hand? Microwaving popcorn, throwing shit, playing slots and arcade games? I'm surprised they didn't fucking toss in all of Duke 3D or the Manhattan Project on one of the arcade machines.
Lasting Appeal: 8.5
Very forgettable, but quite fun if not taken seriously. A fun 6-8 hour romp full of one-liners, interactivity and an over-the-top style that most ugly, gritty, realistic FPSes are too wimpy to touch.
Overall: 8/10
Fun, forgettable; all Duke. Worth $50? Not really. Worth $35? Definitely. I'd say wait for a sale. Fan of (the real, not fantasized) Duke Nukem 3D? Grab it if you got the dosh.

Hey man, it had flight of the valkyries. Instant 10/10.
It's an alright game but it just seems as though gearbox just glued it together. I mean they didn't fix anything or add anything new judging from the stuff that was leaked.
The story didn't really fit together properly either, it was clearly unfinished.
