i reviewed it based on the premise that, judged just as a normal game, it is mediocre and not really enjoyable.
This is why you need to learn how to write. This could easily be misconstrued as "I went into it with an opinion already formed." Which is a big no-no if you want anyone to actually give a shit about your review.
I tried to respond to the rest of this post, but I honestly couldn't make heads or tails of what you were saying.
because my use of run on sentences completely invalidates the idiocracy of him completely misunderstanding my post
Good movie
Kopimi, maybe you should practice more before you make reviews, maybe take some tips from other reviewers. I'm not the best at all, but I'd think you could learn a thing or two from even my first review.

Also, Idiocracy was a great movie!
Glad I'm not the only one to turn out to hate the game.
I already knew it would suck. I knew it 's wouldn't compensate for the 12 years it's been.
Most of it seemed so lazy. The three most lazy things in my opinion were the jump animation and the voiceacting - and the very shitty jokes.
Good movie
It'll become a documentary within the next decade.
It's a shame the price will take a cod route and not drop for 3 years.
I'm going out on a limb here and guess people are hating this game for nitpicky reasons. This game is SERIOUSLY not suppose to be taken seriously. Just look at the dryeraseboard part.
What is it with this "don't take it seriously" argument? I don't understand the logic behind it at all. Do you think that the developers made certain aspects of the game shitty just to be ironic or something?

how do you know the price will remain the same over the years?

2K-published titles tend to drop in price somewhat quickly - for example, Borderlands is now 20 USD after only one year if you're going to compare it to Activision's publishing ordeal (MW2 was 60 USD for a long, long time, and it has only dropped in price to 40 USD recently)

Slappable alien wall tits
So serious you guys
Everyone still hating in this thread, I see? :v:
You know it.

I don't see how slappable alien wall tits would improve certain unpolished aspects of the game.
Normally Im not one to jizz over pixelated, software rendered graphics, but the early duke nuken forever trailer just looked so fucking incredible, even by today's standards. I dont think any modern game would be able to top that.
I saw that trailer about 5 years ago, I had assumed the game had already been released and then was :saddowns: when I finally went to look for it and found out it didn't exist. After seeing that, nothing they could show me in the newer game would be able to sway my opinion :frown:

Does this not look infinitely fucking incredible? Pretty hard to top that, can hardly blame gearbox.
So from what I can understand this game is basically a Chinese democracy?
I watched some reviews and this seemed like a boring game.
Edit: Come on, the gameplay is so low quality it reminds me of "They're alive" and even that had better melee fighting and overall idea.
I think it's not so much that Gearbox fucked the game up so much as Gearbox didn't know what to do with it. Sure, they editted in new easter eggs (Borderlands, Dead Space), and chances are they're the ones responsible for the rushed ending [sp]with the rehashed Cycloid Emperor[/sp]. But 3D Realms created the gist of the game (with leaked trailers dating back to, what, 2007? Sad thing is they were accurate and you can probably find those parts in the final game here and there), which means that Gearbox can only be blamed for dropping the ball on the quality of the finished product, by not cutting the unneeded filler out and generally leaving the game as something out of 2007-8.
I really hope they don't end the duke franchise with this game, if they work their asses up, they can do a fucking awesome game next time.
oh

But still, if they started developing it again, adding new things which would improve the game, we would see the game in what, 2014? Considering they got a 90% done game and just fixed bugs all the time and they still had to postpone the release date. I would've exploded if I had to wait even more being teased and reminded of the game every year. I am glad that DNF got released and that it's still a fun game no matter what.

Duke nukem forever could have looked fucking incredible just like that if they used epic music and good trailer direction, instead they tried going for the "funny" route.
not to mention that trailer was completely scripted
Oh and if they actually released that trailer back in about 09 instead of just teasing.
TO BE HONEST, I for one would like a duke nukem game that takes itself seriously(like that trailer) but still retains the duke nukem character and feel, not intentionally trying to make every little thing funny etc.
It just feels like duke nukem forever doesn't take itself seriously and to me, that's the biggest downer to the fun that the game actually gives
not to mention that trailer was completely scripted
It wasn't. Around 90% of it was playable as it appeared.
It wasn't. Around 90% of it was playable as it appeared.
If this is the case then my mistake, but I was under the impression that that trailer in particular was agreed to have been scripted.
I must have missed something

Someone at some point did for some reason say that it was all scripted, but then there's this:

The guy who posted that is someone who has worked on many video games, including Duke Nukem Forever.

I now hate Gearbox.
That was freakin' amazing. How could gearbox just steer away from that.

Maybe because Gearbox didn't make the game?

Damn that's a lot of playable scenes than I expected it to have, especially since most of them are the ones that got me hyped up a lot back in 2001. I really hope that some deus ex machina would happen and this build gets released somehow.
Maybe because Gearbox didn't make the game?
I know...
:smithicide:
Just finished the game, it wasn't as bad as people say, that or my standards are just really low because of modern games these days
i'd give it about a 7/10, maybe 6.5. it's pretty fun to play but it's far from being the best game ever.
Interested in seeing if they actually do end up making a sequel.
edit: there should have been a multiplayer mode where you had to play air hockey against each other.

What. The. Fuck? What does Gearbox have to do with a 2001 version of the game?
The Hive level was disturbing
