The consoles have WAY less detail and also a bunch of porting-caused issues. I played the console version at a friend's house to get a glimpse of it and compare it to the PC version. The combat is much more fluid and fun on PC. It's strange.

I think the main problem with the shooting is that all of the enemies pretty much just slump over when they die.

I've only been using the shotgun, pistol, Ripper and throwable objects and it seems to make the enemies fly around a lot. Also is there a way to switch back to your fists at all without steroids?

I finally beat the game and I enjoyed it. It was a little short but it was basically what I expected from Duke. One of the ending chapters really annoyed me though..(The underwater one. It was fucking horrible. I hate water levels in any game.)

The water level didn't bother me because it was very brief.

Just started playing and I think it's fine. I don't understand why so many people hate it.

I don't get all of the whining. It does start out slow, but once you get of the casino the game really kicks into gear. The weapons are fun and surprisingly strong, the environments are unique, and the game looks pretty good. The regen health isn't a problem at all; enemies seem to be more prone to being executed if your ego is low, so you can safely run and gun. Combat is fine; spamming pipebombs and tripmines to cover your flanks while you rush enemies with the shotgun and Ripper is a fresh breath of air from the recent trend of you just using an assault rifle 90% of the time. The setpieces are nice for the most part, and I think there's only two turret sequences you HAVE to do (and one of them is a rip of the start of the last Middle-East mission in CoD4, which I liked). The "offensive" scenes aren't that bad. It's just self-righteous idiots trying to act like the moral police so they can keep up their "games are art and intellectual!" bullshit. Duke being crude is the whole point of the series.

Most people who bash on this game haven't played the original and probably came in expecting Call of Duty or something. The Balls of Steel edition was well worth it, and I'm enjoying this game so far. The weapons feel nice, the enviroments are designed well, and multiplayer is pretty cool as well. I hope we get the classic DN3D maps for multiplayer in future DLC.

Haven't had a chance to try out MP yet. Going to later. I'm probably going to let my dad play SP sometime this week. He loved duke when he was younger so this should be some sort of nostalgia trip for him.

This game is pretty good imo, i dont see what people are bitching about

I love how a while ago I pissed off a whole server by playing in the Duke Burger map and no one else knew how to get the jet pack.What made it even better was all we could use was our fists. :buddy:
