Well that's old style multiplayer for you, and it's not like you get the devastator and then you are invincable, you can still easily die, it just matters as who is using what.
An example is, I was playing Hail To The King and I held off the control point by my self the whole time with just a shotgun. Yes I have gone on killing streaks before using it but I've also have died pretty easily from against other guns.
It's fun worth wile.

I don't why you people say multiplayer is unbalanced, so far I managed to kickass with everything, even the melee.
Killing a player with a devastor or rpg is easy. A couple of shots with pistol and they die, or just rush them and they explode too.
I love the freeze gun and shrink gun, they help so much.
Can't wait for the new weapons they plan to release.
The guy they are talking about did a review for it.

Man you did little to no research did you, just leaped straight at the thought of blowin 100 on Duke, everything you listed has been known for a long LONG time, and you apparently missed the backlash of everyone getting down because of the bust size. Not sure what your problem with the cards are, they're a full deck of em like promised. Every promo shot of the BOS only had 2 poker chips as well, I'm not really sure what you were expecting from this.
Also adding onto what Kart said, if you go on a homicidal spree and bury bodies in your neighbors yard, make sure you're not burying the same neighbor you just killed in their own yard, would look odd.
