IMO it isn't really terrible, it is merely decent. It doesn't really do much that I haven't seen before, but it can be quite fun. However people tend to defend it like idiots.

I just tried the demo. Previously, I was planning to grab this when it went on sale just to see if I could trust the critics.

The reviewers just seem to be biased in general, for one reason or another. Like I said before, it's not good or bad, just average in my opinion. There's nothing special that we haven't seen before besides drawing penises on whiteboards and photocopying your ass in a game; it's more focused on the attempts at humor, hit-or-miss as it is.
I admit, i'm immature enough to chuckle at some of the jokes, but man, did they really have to make the mini-Duke jokes about stuffing him in places? :smith:
damn this game and its disgustingly hard turret sections, they suck even more when played on higher difficulty settings and you're guaranteed to die more than once, and oh those fucking berserk pig cops.....
this game is far from refreshing, in fact it brought back horrible memories of bad game mechanics and shit i thought we finally got over with, gearbox is lucky i still payed full price for BoS edition (more like b.s edition, the bust was a midget and the behind the scenes art book was unsatisfying, but expected) after that disaster of a demo, i hope they release the old builds so i can compare them to this version.
p.s the end boss was unsatisfying and i refuse to recognize this game as a duke game.

I don't mind scripted sequences. Just remain true to Duke3D with the exploration and just sprinkle the sequences in and I'd be happy with it.
The queen honestly has be the most annoying boss, half the time the pipe bombs don't even bring her arms down for you to attack even though I get them right on her

Nope, I didn't make any content for that game. Knowing someone from 3DR who has and having heard many of his stories, I can't say I'd have desired to be in his shoes all along, though there was a lot of passion for Duke that kept it going, especially at the end.

Well, first, the remake isnt being made by gearbox, and second, well, they did make Opposing force and blue shift, so i dont know.

Looking at this thread, I need to say something.
Stop throwing insults at reviewers and rating people dumb when they present a negative opinion about the game. I liked the game, an 8/10 for me, but this is fanboyism and it makes us no better than the people who gave it 3's and 2's. (Btw most of those reviews are just really shittily scored, the actual text is for the most part decent critique) I made a joke at Noxx's expense a page or two back, but that's the thing, it was a joke about both the game and Noxx, not childish name-calling. "His game was shit he's just mad", or "an autistic fagot wouldn't like this game anyway", or "aspies don't seem to like this game lol" are comments that can fuck right off, same for the people who throw them out. Same for people who throw out "paid reviewers" and "biased reviewers" as if they are facts (it's entirely plausible but I dare you to find concrete evidence) that are excuses for the game's flaws. They're not. The game is flawed, and for a lot of people it's tone and humor are abhorrent, and mix that with average gameplay and the numerous problems the console version has makes for a game that is medicore at best in the minds of many. And that's their opinion. They're not autistic, (btw never call anyone that as an insult or you are officially a fucking scumbag) they're not biased, they just disagree with you.
I had to say that, because with some of the things said in this thread it's starting to make me want to distance myself from the game's supporters.
