If Notch is going to release it last week he's being really really stupid.

I remember that they wanted to do more major patches instead of smaller ones with a small amount of features. Releasing 1.8 next week means the other half of the stuff will be implemented in 1.8.1.

I'd rather want them to do bigger actually complete releases instead of smaller half-done releases.

I was thinking quite a while back that Pigmen would speak a sort of pseudo-Latino kind of language, but what their main culture is like has yet to be discovered. For all we know they could be mostly nomadic tribes, or unified under a single Piggish Caliphate with a sort of Arabian/Byzantine culture, or any number of things since nothing's been shown about them save for their unfortunate Nether-bound cousins, which kinda implicates their kind with at least some sort of Nether-related contact, be it an experiment gone horribly wrong or a dark pact with the otherworldly fire-spitting giant squid-people we call the Ghasts.

Why shouldn't they? Technically we are still in beta, it would be easier to get rid of bugs if they are released gradually. If you don't want to play it until it is all out, don't update.

It's not like people will be playing it all the time, because most of the people are going to start new worlds, and if Notch relases, say tommorow only the new lightning, they will still have to wait till the biome update comes out.
