so I was wondering if any of you guys had any idea of what might be the problem:
so I've got an i7-860 quad core and enough graphics processing power/RAM to last another half of a decade without needing upgrades, right? obviously it isn't enough to handle shift 2. it used to run AMAZINGLY (until it hits the fps limit of, what, 60 frames?)
not any more. I can't even go to the garage without getting insane amounts of lag. it's like my processor is suddenly bottle-capped completely down to one core. any ideas on what I can do to fix this? it only affects shift 2. everything else runs like a dream.
What are your specs?

This game makes my Xbox freeze almost every time I play it. Bought a Gumpert and works'd it. It stops on a dime I swear.

I'm using some suggested settings and I still weave back and forth all over the road. Why does it have to be so hard to go in a straight line?
Add more toe in for straight line stability at the loss of sharp turning.
Lower steering lock can help also.

Thundering down at 320kph in a veyron on the nurburgring has to be some of the most fun I've had in racing games.

Fucking steering lag is horrendous and my logtech f710 keeps loosing connection for split seconds completely at random.
I wish there was some sort of straight drag race-like track or something, God that would be fun for the Veyron and testing other fast cars.

Hard to tell, but you can see the tire smoke and the black lines, also that hud's there so you know I wasn't just braking.
