Well, some kind of game bug or something - I just got an Alfa Romeo and a Lambourgini Mercialago for free! Just sat in the car lot for $0
You get some free cars if you own previous games. Also, got a DFGT and the pedals are playing the role of buttons. They're doing great in GT5, but there I have to hold the pedal down fully to make the car go. Any solutions?
Check your dead zone or sensitivity settings? Only things I could think of...
Deadzone is set to 6% by default, is that okay? Tried playing with sensitivity on 100%, same. It appears that some guys on the other forums have the same problem.
Hmm not sure, deadzone only covers the initial press of the pedal ...try turning it down though, I play with it at 0%
if anyone's playing this game with a driving force gt post your settings
Hmm not sure, deadzone only covers the initial press of the pedal ...try turning it down though, I play with it at 0%
The funny thing is that when you start the race, I get bonus points for the right timing by pressing the pedal fully and not pressing it from the 80% of being pressed but-having-no-effect-whatsoever to 100%. Thanks for trying to help me, though, I appreciate it.

Should I buy this if I plan on playing it with a Logitech Gamepad?
I will only get this if there are realism handling mods and I somehow stumble upon a REALLY cheap Logitech wheel. I'm not going to spend $350 for a game I won't like. Why are all the good wheels RIDICULOUSLY expensive? I want a a clutch and a H-gate shifter damn it. [editline]3rd April 2011[/editline] ahahah, how the FUCK is a Fanatec 911GT3 RS wheel setup $200 less expensive than a Logitech? Guess I'll be getting a Fanatec then.

fuck this game, its pretty
DEAR SHIT FULL OF FUCK. I've completed the endurance race of 20 laps on normal with all assists off incluing that annoying "where-you-should-drive line" on a fucking Aston Martin DBRS9 GT3. Won it like a motherfucking badass. 45 minutes of joy. Despite all the stuff people say, I like the game and it delivers the fun, and that's what matters.
Endurance race 20 laps :suicide: That's one of the worst parts of modern racing games - races that last 2-3 laps, what the fuck? Awful career is my biggest concern of this game, I hope we'll get some kind of "proper GTR season mod".

I wish there would be dynamic weather changes and day/night cycles, the tire system would ACTUALLY WORK. I love endurance races but, of course, this is nothing like 'em. Have set the new region record. I am proud. :v:
20 grand :v: I hate the fact you get 10-100k for leveling up, it's silly. You should only earn money in races. And pay for repairs. Oh well.
20 grand :v: I hate the fact you get 10-100k for leveling up, it's silly. You should only earn money in races. And pay for repairs. Oh well.
The experience is bullshit. Seriously, I have to have a lane that annoys me so I can just get points? What if I can do faster than this lane suggested? You can farm a lot by using the lane and get like 150 exp for winning the race on 1st place or w/e. And I'm now seriously dissapointed with endurance races. It is just the usual race but with 20 laps. Ugh.
What did you think Endurance races were? Try doing real ones... I did a few that required $30 Entry fees and had well over 100 drivers in over 40 cars, winners in each class would get nice prizes... Racing wheel +$100 or Track IR and shit... Each team of drivers would drive for a couple hours, then during a pitstop hand the car off to another player who joins the server to take his place since rFactor handled Driver Swaps... and the races lasted anywhere from 6-12 hours on tracks like Sebring THAT was good times, but that's just a regular race with a ton of laps, the only difference is Shift 2 uses a number of laps instead of time to determine the end of a race for its endurance races Still was fun though, 2 hour stint on a road course with 50 other cars on the track, one mistake means that's it, you're done, Then handing it off for your friend to take the next stint, then you come in for the next 2 hours. Your ankles and ass seriously hurt after one of those races. Not only that, those races were broadcasted live with actual commentators, they even had Dale Earnhardt Jr in on the action a few times. Jr loves online racing Though I wouldn't mind having something like 30 cars just doing laps for a couple hours on the Ring as endurance racing in Shift 2, Oh well
What did you think Endurance races were?
I thought they would be much longer with full day/night cycle, weather changes, pitstops and stuff like that. All I got was a stage called "Nurburgring 24 hours" and it consisted of 3 different races each of them with a different track of Ring and different part of the day. By the way, is rFactor any good as a simulator and fun overall? And what's the best game to feature endurance races?
rFactor is one of the best as far as racing simulators go. The problem is there are so many addons, tracks, cars, etc, that every server is running something different. It's best to hop into one server, stick with it, or a select group of guys/racing league/clan... It can handle endurance races and also does Day/Night cycles and you can select the time compression for it too... Make night last 10 minutes if you'd like. Not many people online race endurance races though. It's usually a Practice session for a few minutes, qualifying, then the race which is a few laps, with random traffic joining in... you know, people who don't brake on the first corner and think lap one is the most important Here's one of the cars we raced on Watkens Glenn I believe it was Yep, that's a real sponsor we had. Fun Fact: 96 is the number I've used in online racing since 2002, and I originally used it because it was easier to paint on a car's Left/Right side and roof, since it didn't require mirroring or flipping
this is the worst racing game i've ever played. the ai does nothing but ram me, period, and the gamepad controls IS SO BAD

It's really hard to find some information on this game. No reviews on youtube. I heard rFactor 2 is coming out soon, should I pick this up and how much does it cost? Searched their whole website and it doesn't even say the price.
It wasn't free, was it?
I want grid 2 :frown:
rFactor is one of the best as far as racing simulators go.
Oh man rfactor is A++++ game. We discovered it in September with a friend, and had so much fun and that was the first time I've actually played such game properly. No assists, no other shit, having to setup your car for at least 40 minutes before the race, truly avoiding contacts with other racers (and that's fucking hard when you race against real people because you can't really foretell their actions) :allears: The intensity of playing it is fucking impossible to reproduce in any other game. Here's a video with highlights from a couple of our races (that was a server with hugely reduced damage system, usually any small accident fucks up your car completely). He's on the black/red car and I'm on the yellow one. ehh i'm way off topic :v:
this is the worst racing game i've ever played. the ai does nothing but ram me, period, and the gamepad controls IS SO BAD
We understand you hate it, so just get out and stop shitting up the thread. Oh, and learn grammar.
Gear Changes in F1 cars in rFactor happen so fast, your car is a turn or two ahead of your brain rFactor is $40 I think... It may be cheaper I'm not sure. You can download the game, and have 60 minutes of time on it, then buy and unlock it straight from the Demo launcher and it should tell you. It could be cheaper by now. You have a 5 activation limit, but after that you can just email them and get as many activations you want if you need them, so you don't have to worry about not being able to play after 5 activations But Nascar 4 then Nascar Racing Season 2003 held the online sim racing community, then rFactor came out and even now is the reigning champion of Online Racing
rFactor was fun, but my friends and I never played proper modes. We'd always run on custom drift maps and go drifting with car mods. It was so much fun. The most i've ever had in a racing game. It was like the BF2 mod-wise of the racing genre.

I love the endurance races in GRID. A huge track and a day and night cycle.
