Can't run it on max :smith: with a dual core 2.5ghz 4850E from 2 years ago and 4gb of ram and an Nvidia 9400gt .
edit : as long has it's playable i guess i can't complain.
I run it maxed with 4670 :v:
Geesh, I play this bad boy on the Xbawx 360.
My computer is horrifically outdated, and starting to die so I can't even play last gen games on it. I'm gonna get it on the Xbawks 360 too.
I max this with a GT240 512mb, 6gb DDR2 RAM, and a Athlon II x2 2.7ghz :v:

Probably because my monitor is only 1366 x 768 :v:
If anyone has xfire (the gaming messenger thingy) and has really low fps ingame. Try turning xfire off.
For me on highest settings on the Miami Race course I was getting 23 fps at the start line and mostly through the whole track. However, once I disabled the xfire ingame gui my fps rose from about 23 to around 44 on that same track.
Fuck all that japanese garbage, i love my Integrale.
Europeans do it so much better.

Let's drag race then. Your Integrale against my Supra :smug:
Is it me or the car loose its momentum when it flip?
Holy doodle. Ford GT is slippery as hell. Tried tuning it and changing the settings - nothing. Now I'm pretty concerned that it's almost always better to buy a European car rather than an American one.

By the way, what's the best track to make a drag race? Or just go all-speedy?

Drag racing is for the proletariat.
True gentlemen race round the Nürburgring.
I haven't played shift 1, but i LOVE GRiD. Should i get this game?
I haven't played shift 1, but i LOVE GRiD. Should i get this game?
If you love realistic driving games, then I would say NO. This is nowhere near to a realistic racing game.
If you like a bit arcade stylish simulation racing games then I guess you will like Shift 2.
I don't know.. really
I like to ram the police cars over with some ghetto truck in GTA 4 and it's as entertaining as driving could get, considering the angry yelling and insane car deformation and what-not!

You really have to have a steering wheel, because with keyboard this game will rip your fingers off.

What about a gamepad?
You really have to have a steering wheel, because with keyboard this game will rip your fingers off.
I play Grid & Dirt & other racing games with a 360 controller just fine.
E: Speaking of wheels, anyone want to suggest a relatively cheap one, that has 3 pedals? ( clutch = :gizz: )
I bought a Genius F1 Twin for $40 off amazon, no clutch though :v:
This one:

I wouldn't really recommend it :geno:
If you like racing games then you should really invest in at least a Driving Force GT or something of that range
Is the Driving Force GT a good mid-range wheel? Does it have paddle-shifters?
I've been looking at either the DF-GT or a Fanatec GT3 RS but I am also getting ready to put down ~$700 on new computer components. The more for the money the better.
For ~$130 you can't go wrong with the dfgt
yes, it does have paddle shifters, but they're really small so I personally prefer the sequential knob
I run it maxed out (No AA or Vsync) with a HD 5750 as well, 1680X1050, 4Gigs Ram, Phenom 955
yeah I realize the problem
I'm running into a massive CPU bottleneck
no matter what setting the fps doesn't want to go over 35 with 7 other AI drivers
The computers they used to show the game must have been pretty old. None of the vidoes I've seen have done it justice.
Core2Duo E6850 @ 3GHz
4GB memory
PNY GTX260 768MB Core 216
I run it on all high except in AA, MSAA, and motion blur at 1920x1200. It looks fucking awesome and runs at around 40fps.
I got the same specs except an e6600 (at stock speeds no less), same result at 1680 x 1050.
what
okok I'll try it again when I have time, without VSync
which drivers are you running anyway
8.821-110126a-112962c-ATI
and my CC version is 11.2.
Think it could be my Q8400?
I'm honestly considering getting a wheel for this and then waiting a while to upgrade my PC.

Mine is at stock speeds too. I wish I could OC, but as soon as I touch voltages or clocks my PC has a seizure and locks.
It wasn't until now that I realized that the 260 has 896MB vram, not 768.
We need a new Hot Pursuit. (no, the latest one is burnout, fuck off with it, i felt like it was spitting on the amazing Hot Pursuit 2's face)
a PROPER hot pursuit, none of that release-throttle-into-drift bullshit, no nitro boost, nothing, just exotic terrain from around the world with amazing landscapes, supercars and cops, fuck tuning and fuck visual accessories.

at 1680x1050 i run it maxed with 4X AA and it runs like a charm always over 60 fps v:v:v
Q6600@ 3.25 (410 FSB)
4 GB DDR2
Gigabyte GTX 460 1 GB OC

Does the sequential shifter work like a real sequential?
i.e. forward is down, back is up.

http://www.racedepartment.com/dlcat-need-for-speed-shift-2-unleashed-70/
Already been a week and people are making mods to make it less arcady.

Yes, yes it does. I've bought it a day before the release and it is amazing. The best for such price surely.
Ah man what, Ebisu track, small and tight version, how the fuck do I race this?
Trying to do the Classic Japanese cars, got myself a Nissan, all worked up to keep up with the other cars but the track is just so narrow and short that there's no way to pass..by the time I've just started to accelerate there's a corner and with the car being works it just slides like a bitch.
Tried tuning but meh, track is just too small and twatty.
