Let me elaborate on why Electrician is a bad hero; he has 2 tanking abilities but weak teamfight presence from his otherwise lackluster support abilities [B]Static Grip:[/B] Good for early game ganks/roaming. However, if you want to be a disabler Pollywog Priest has an identical one and a hex. Also it's channeled, so you can either get Shrunken Head (a bad choice because you are a tank and WANT to get focused) or literally get hit by any number of the AOE stuns/Savage Mace/Pharaoh's Hellfire/TB or MQ nukes and the skill becomes useless in teamfights. The only real use for this skill is early-game lane combos like Swiftblade or team ganks against a solo target. [B]Electric Shield:[/B] Your main scaling tank ability. It's an awesome ability but as stated before you do no damage and no supporting in teamfights, and if you build for damage you will quickly run out of mana for this ability. [B]Energy Absorption:[/B] Minor True damage nuke/mana steal. The armor bonuses synergize nicely with Electric Shield if you can get enough heroes caught by it (but there's still no reason to focus you) [B]Purge (I forget the name):[/B] Makes certain lineups like Madman, Hammerstorm, and TDL cry. Of course you could always build a Nullfire Blade or get a Vagabond Assassin for an identical effect. Compared to other heroes, he sucks: Maliken is a tanky-carry. He has great damage in teamfights, his sword is a nuke/slow (for ganking)/escape mechanism all in one, and he can ult to interrupt channels. With Life Essence he can tank well while offering overall superior skills Accursed is a better support-tank, and fulfills Electrician's role much better. Throwing out a 300-heal every 6 seconds and a purge with a better cooldown (and that purges stuns [and channeled abilities like Electrician's and Succubus' ult]) makes him a better support. Add in 5 seconds of invulnerability and you have a superior tank and supporter
Why are you comparing Eletrician to Maliken and Accursed, it doesn't make even sense. He was purely made to support your teammates, he isn't a killing machine like other heroes you are comparing him to, his job is only to [b]support[/b] by holding/slowing enemies or helping your teammates escaping. Accursed's heal doesn't heal as much damage and yes it's very useful but it takes mana and health to cast it, and from when can Accursed stun and purge? That's new to me.
Electrician is one of the best tanks in the game if you know how to play him well...
I wish they would bring back those one-liners when you kill somebody, I thought it was awseome. :(

That's new to me.[/QUOTE] Fire Shield purges debuffs and disables off allies and has a 9 s cooldown compared to Electrician's. Accursed isn't a killing machine, he's a supporty tank. If you want to compare tanks, Armadon has great presence with his slow/-armor and spine stacking while Electrician has an easily countered grip which is counter-intuitive to his tanky nature and a purge.
Well considering how much you guys love Accursed it's rather useless for me to argue. :D But each hero has his own strengths and weaknesses, I mainly go battle Accursed because of his 40% attack speed buff, if you get Elder Parasite he can deal a lot of damage, Runed Axe and Astroable ain't bad on him too.
For someone who hasn't played DotA, is there a simple support hero that I can play so the other good people can win for me?
Demented Shaman? He's kinda simple, just heal your teammates, throw Hide at tanks or people who need it, use ulti on the enemy or your teammates before engaging and just slow escaping enemies.
OH YEAH electrican sucks. Because 50% damage reduce + your normal armor (should be abour 20-30% more) = 80% damage reduce SUCKS! As soon as you got the right stuff people need 4 man to take you down.

Build for damage and you won't have the mana to support Electric Shield (and once your mana runs out from using it, your abilities.) Getting sheepstick or Frostfield could work, but once you use that you're done for the fight. Compared to other tanks like Armadon and Accursed who constantly spew out support or damage, Electrician has no teamfight presence.
Just came off my first time playing HoN. Played Accursed all three games. Game 1:Had no idea wtf I was doing, didn't buy anything but health potions and we got rocked Game 2:Had some supportive team mates, killed my first hero (was a Keeper of the Forest). Learnt some stuff. Still sucking at putting my skills in the right place Game 3:Had a good team who mostly soloed. Eventually I bought some nice items and we managed to steam roll them about mid game. I definitely want to play more HoN in the future. Seems like fun and teamwork is an essential.
I'm definitely playing golly priest more. That 4.75 second stun is absolutely brutal.
I'm still new, but I enjoy playing pebbles. Sorcerers's Ring lets me spam stalagmites and throw. I'm looking for people to play with. I'm not too good, so looking to play with some people who can give me some pointers at the same time. Add me on steam!

You can't destroy towers before the game began, they are invulnerable. Or if you mean "early" then it's possible.
