Oh god I must have atleast 1000+ hours of playing and mapping in this game.
Love wc3 so much.

Your the king? Well I didn't vote for you.
I used to play Warcraft II like crazy, but for some reason I never completed Warcraft III. Oh well, I play WoW now, I've learned what happened in that game through other means.

Oh and that Blizzard doesn't use more than 2 voice actors anymore
Oh yes this game. I used to play in Russian so those undead's lines stuck in my head like "We need more wood" "We need more gold" "We need to build a Zikkurat". Love this game.
Need to reinstall and try that map tool.
I quit a while ago. There was a time, when there were many great maps, fullhouse servers everywhere, variety. One of my best memories is going online the first time, and failing, but seeing how awesome it was. Every game was player hosted, save a few, and DotA was avoidable. I stuck to RPs like Real Life (For Morons), Loap (and every spinoff/edit), Fantasy Life, etc.
Last time I checked, there was a large amount of DotA and Bot games, Come to think of it, those were the only games. I haven't seen my friends on there forever, most moved on or removed me, and now I feel sad at how Bnet turned out on there.
Let me be the first to say:
DotA ruined WC3
SC2 killed it

I ended up meeting my best online friend there.
I now have him added through steam, it's been what? 10 years and we're still playing together.
I remember when Warcraft wasn't just MMO-flavoury.
We totally absolutely require to do a Warcraft 3 Facepunch session with the good ol' great maps everyone loves
I love this game so much, mainly for the custom maps that have been produced.
Anyone who played SotDRP or any other RPING custom: give me a win, because those are win.
Loap, real life for morons, risk, wintermaul. Good times.
Work, work, work.

Goddamn lucky. None of my friends had anything like Steam, so either they disappeared, or I did. Some of my best friends I met on there. Now? Gone.
I honestly can't take Warcraft 3 seriously being a BW player and the battles taking 3 and a half hours in WC3...
god damn how can the battles take so freaking long lol
This was the first and only RTS my sister has ever enjoyed. She played 50 hours over the course of two weeks, then stopped because she didn't like playing bots and the family was all Warcrafted out.
Helms Deep map (or any LOTR map for that matter) where everyone REALLY wants to be Legolas but host picks him first.
I really hoped Starcraft 2 could have the same kind of custom maps, and the same feeling of them but it failed to do so massively. No other game as far as I know had this kind of variation on custom content, from Roleplaying, nation-building, zombies, arenas, colonization (That one map with Europe and North-Central America.), First-person shooters (They existed!); all of it incredibly unique to Warcraft 3.
Fucking Island troll tribes! Damn that was fun.

All of those exist in Sc2
Custom games in Warcraft 3 was fucking awesome. I wouldnt mind going back for a Facepunch get together in Warcraft 3.
(Damn game ruined my innocence though when i was young, mainly because i didnt know what the word "Hentai" ment when i was 13 or so... -Cough Cough-)
I'd be up for a WC3 night, all we need is 8-12 people

This may be nostalgia talking, but it's not the same
Spent so many years playing custom maps over battlenet. This game just had some great custom maps... Uther Party, Sheep/Tree Tag, LOAP, the original Wintermaul (which was actually a maul and not a line td), the early versions of Footies, Gang Wars, Village Builder, Castle Builder, Evolves, Run Kitty Run, Juliens RPG, Waurgriff's COT RPG, SOL's RPG, Undead Bungie's FF ORPG, the old Peon Wars, Angel Arena, X Hero Siege, Ant Colony, and many more. There were also awesome campaigns such as Nature's Call The Spiderqueen.
I went onto battlenet again a few months ago and was very dissapointed because all the maps were being hosted by bots and almost all of the maps being hosted were just DOTA (which I hate btw).
CoT was the shit and I had a sticky note full of character codes.
The editor was amazing, I remember giving myself army of thousands heroes and then fighting with computer. It was so fun when you were little.
IMO custom maps aren't the same in SC2, most of them are the same thing and the awful 'map list' which only shows the most popular/played maps doesn't help, and most of the time it's always the same crappy maps.
Also the editor complexity, my God, have you seen that thing, whereas W3 map editor was pretty accesible Starcraft 2 is fucking nuts, the good thing is the power it has and you can make some pretty fucking quality maps, but we won't see as many and varied maps, which was what gave W3 that charm.
I used to play LOAP alot, and many weird TDs...
