I got into Blizzard with the original Warcraft many years ago. Sad to see that it's being butchered by them with WoW.

I don't really know anything about WoW, but is it true that players actually are able to kill Arthas/the Lich King? Talk about destroying the lore.

From that point I was so powerful I'd declare "martial law" and do the same to anyone against me until they'd sit in the hospital whining for the next hour

I also really loved RPG maps, mostly because of how much of a step up they were from the bw ones I used to play, save/load systems and all the custom stuff usually made them so much fun Those RP maps were also interesting but looking back, damn they are a horrible idea considering the number of children

WoW should of never had it real lore in it.

Greatest RTS, ever, period. Its still alive, at least for US east.

And saying World of Warcraft killed WC3 is ridiculous. It was bound to start die out eventually, but its still such a good RTS that even today there are lots of people playing it

I don't see how its destroying the lore in any way.[/QUOTE] In Vanilla WoW when I was leveling up my Paladin in the Western Plaguelands, I just thought that the Plague was a just a random plague like the Black Death in the middle ages. Except by killing them it just turned you into zombies. It was a lot of fun not knowing anything about the lore in the game and learning bits as you went.

Also, yeah, WoW being an MMO allows them to put four times as much detail and information into the story than they could have with an RTS, it also introduced millions of new people to Blizzard.

If anything, World of Warcraft is improving the Warcraft series. It's allowing players another level of depth in the story, by actually being in it, with their own unique avatar. I just hope they don't keep running with the model of MMO's forever; sure, WoW is good, but at some point they should make another RTS. I'm not saying it should be anytime soon, but in the future, yeah.

After Diablo 3, I am positive we will be seeing another Warcraft RTS. Facepunch seems to have some massive hate bandwagon against WoW and Blizzard. I didn't think it would be in this thread too.

I like to play gem td, element td and hell td. Those was the best td's IMO

Having a group of nobodies kill what is supposedly the most powerful being on the world is a little strange.

You start piss poor, basically a peasant beggar at level one. You work your way up by doing quests and getting stronger, richer, and more famous. You meet major lore characters, make alliances, save towns, in no way are you a nobody. You work your way to the top, to be strong enough to challenge Arthas. Please show me a place where WoW has destroyed the lore. You should really educate yourself on the situation.

WITH YOU AROUND EVERYTHING FIGHTING US IS FUCKED!" basically.

I miss the times when I could talk about Warcraft and people don't automatically assume I'm talking about WoW. Hell tons of WoW players have never even played WC3 let alone heard of it.

this is my favorite blizz RTS

Treetag, Farmers vs Hunters, Winter Maul Wars, Commandos.. and not to forget Burbenog, the best TD ever made. It was almost perfectly balanced.

Can we please get the fighting out of this thread? Also update: one of my virus scanners found one in System 32. So I moved it to a vault or the virus's prison. Good idea..?
